If it is that Scorpio one, people are wondering what the gradient on the case really looks like - a dark green or grey.

OK cool, will post pics tomorrow.

Here's the dispatch email:

So far, the YT reviewers are astonished how the XB1X performs in both 4K and 1080p - with the right patch. So far, MS patches include upgraded assets that look great in 1080p as well.

The only disappointment so far is Titanfall 2 - for some reason, it is just a slight update and the visuals are lacking (but maybe a new patch this week will fix that):

Nice!

It appears to be Gray as the gradient?
Yes it starts off black on the left side and fades to gray onthe right, over the polka dotted pattern it is quite attractive. I thought I would prefer a plain black hearing about it but it looks great.

Set mine up a few hours ago. Forza 7 is an insane 95GB download. Microsoft really should’ve included a 2TB drive in this thing.

Yes 1TB isn’t going to be much use! I have all my games on an external 5TB USB3 drive. Made migration much easier :)

I just bought Forza 7 on disk and it wants a 62GB update!

External storage is more or less required buying the X.

Bought Rise of Tomb Raider, 30GB update (I officially own that game on all platforms now lol), Halo Guardian, 35GB update. I have 4 games installed, free space 496GB on the 1TB drive, and there looks to be another Forza 7 update in queue.

I really hate external storage, and AFAIK upgrading internal drive on Xbox One is not possible. Just bought a 4TB portable drive from Best Buy for $80. It’s officially a $600 console.

Man. I might reconsider an upgrade to the X. The updates alone will kill my internet for a long while.

That Minecraft console for some reason is calling my name. I don't even play Minecraft!

I've got a 1TB cap...the only time I've come close to reaching it is when we binged Breaking Bad in 4K a few months ago. Right now, it has updated 5 games and I'm still under 300GB total for the month.

Ordered the X last night from Very UK, says delivery on the 28th. Hopefully it will be sooner than that.

I bought a WD 5TB USB3 drive when I bought my white 500GB Xbox One. All my games are on there and made migration to the X really easy, didn't really do anything except ensure that drive was plugged in when I span up the X

Upgrading the drive would invalidate the warranty as soon as you open the console. Plus I think the drive has custom F/W

Oh that is cool, that it keeps your games when you move the external drive to another console. I guess that's the one advantage in using external. In Windows 10, when I reload the OS, I'd have to redownload the games from the Windows store, which for Forza 7 is 95GB. Unless I'm missing something, I have not found a way to force the OS to pickup previously installed Windows store purchases.

Yeah MS has custom firmware on the internal drive, so it won't work with another off the shelf drive if installed internally. I think Xbox 360 had a way to flash your own drive, but AFAIK not possible on Xbox One.

It's great. There was an option to copy my settings to the external drive as part of the "get ready for the Xbox One X" app.

Was at the MS just earlier.

They have a stack of them...

Unfortunately, the one they had on demo was locked and all I can get to was some Madden 2018 EA Store interface...

Their demo Xbox One S's had just Minecraft running on them.

The Xbox stuff is really now just relegated "to the back" - they are show-casing their Gaming PC's, MS Mixed Reality Headsets, and Surface computers. They also had a bunch of *expensive* Windows laptops (I don't know, if you are going to spend MORE on a PC than a Macintosh...)

I guess I'll have to rely on YouTube and people here as far as reviews...

Mine arrived today. Tried Forza 7 on it to have a message come up in game saying “installing”, left it for a while and was still stuck on 0% so gonna try it later

For what though? I’m not an avid gamer anymore and I know the Scorpio is a powerful system but doesn’t it play the same games as the one? I don’t see the point

I think Microsoft has said/alluded to them no longer having console "generations" but rather upgrading the existing system as time goes on. I could be wrong, but I think part of the plan is to be able to have games work throughout the xbox one line, but the older machine you have, the more you will see reduced features compared to the newer models.
I *think* Microsoft wants to try and make it a bit more like gaming on PC's but with a more simplified model when looking at specs. For example, right now if I buy Assassins creed Origins, I clearly can see that it works on all Xbox One models, but on XB1 & XB1-S I don't get HDR, 4k, finer tuned assets. on the XB1-X we do. In PC world it can be confusing for many people at home trying to decipher the Video card models, the processor generation (I have an i7, but was it 2nd gen or 6th gen? many people don't know)

Sorry this is a big thing to say, I think (and hope) that days of "Generations" is being sunset, I think it will benefit everyone. Gamers can carry across their purchases and have them run better/faster. Developers have a cleaner SDK, and don't need seporate SDK's to develop with/against. Microsoft doesn't have to poor resources into backwards compatibility as much (like we see with the 360 vs XB1).

But to your point, We could use some more titles (both from Microsoft Studios and 3rd Party) to make some more awesome titles that are optimized and utilize the XB1-X to it's full potential. With that said, as someone still stuck with an XB1 (black) I hope game makers continue to make the games so they scale down fort those of us still running older systems.
