Someone made a grave error - that card is around $750. Open box at mine is $695...
Most likely. The card was listed as on clearance for $559. On top of that there's the storewide clearance item this week at additional 30% off, which was what the card was listed as at $391. On top of that I got the openbox discount which worked out to be 15%. Yeah the numbers add up perfectly now that I'm thinking about it. This was site wide, showed $391 online at every single store. Someone at corporate marked this card as clearance for some odd reason..

I don't know which card you have but the Microcenter I was just at had a GTX 1080Ti clearance for $663...no sale, no storewide clearance...

EVGA founder's edition. I'm certain this didn't last very long. I was lucky to be able to reserve the openbox one for in store pickup. They've deactivated most of their video cards for online reservation, the lone exception is the GTX1080, presumably because the miners aren't interested in 1080.

The listing was still active and showing the price earlier, but they've since taken it down.

Microsoft allowing their Xbox titles on the PC really takes a lot of value out of owning the One X, at least for me. I will probably still want one if it's the only way to play Forza.

I wasn't doubting you either...

I just never seen one of these "Founder's Edition" cards for the $559 at the store I frequent - ever....

The 1080 Ti's start at $600 in the store I frequent.

Looks like in was an in-store only deal anyways...

Great you got an awesome deal on yours!

Contemplating cancelling my Scorpio Edition X.

I just bought a new apple watch, iPhone X coming soon, just too much going on right now!!!!!!!

I still have my S and day 1 XB1 but i can't bring myself to pass up this beauty.

All Micro Center deals are in-store only, with perhaps a couple of exceptions here and there. It is how they operate, undercut everyone on some items (namely processors), but their accessories (PSU, coolers, etc) are always higher than everyone else.

A bit futher OT here. EVGA has unbelievable service. I was seeing artifacting on that open box Founder's 1080 Ti. They sent me a brand new factory sealed 1080 Ti with their ICX cooler  So I got a brand new EVGA 1080 Ti for $332, plus $30 which I added on EVGA's 5yr extended warranty. First faulty open box item from Micro Center.

At that price, I wouldn't return it to the store - use the Manufacturer's Warranty... Now you got a NEW one with their ICX Cooler and an extended warranty (I would get it on the high-end GPU's since they run so hot).

My deal last year was an open box XFX RX 470 4Gig for $175 (it had been out for just 3 weeks). It was returned twice since the people just used it while waiting for the RX 480 8Gig ones to arrive, hence it was double-open box (the first tag was $190, retail $219). No problems a year later... :)

XBox One Scorpio is a beautiful Collector's item (please save all the box and packing and every plastic bag and twist-tie). It will hold its value.

Apple stuff is essentially now just a status symbol and we collectors will not be collecting these items (maybe the iPhone X one day as it is a "first", but that's years and years away).

Get the Xbox One X Scorpio...

Fine, you twisted my arm :)

Good choice - in convincing you, now I want one...

btw - $500 has become a FANTASTIC price for a machine of that power.

I was at Microcenter yesterday and saw RAM prices... OMG...

Last year when I built my PC, I paid $70 on sale for a 16Gig (2x8) DDR3 kit.

Now, a 16Gig kit (DDR4 or DDR3) is "on sale" for $145...

Plus, an RX 580 8Gig is "supposed to be" around $300...

So, you're talking around $450 for just the RAM and GPU Card, as opposed to $500 for an entire console system of the same power - a great deal...

Yeah RAM prices keep creeping up. There was a set of G Skill 2x8GB set for $99 not even a month ago. Now it is $125. My last set of 2x8GB DDR4 was purchased last December for $75. This has been the longest period where RAM prices remained elevated, but I still remember paying $200 for 3x2GB triple channel set on that Bloomfield i7 build which hurt the most. It was probably around 2009. The lowest I remember paying for 2x8GB DDR3 was around $50, probably couple years ago.

You sure made a good point on the One X pricing though. I'll keep my Scorpio edition preorder for now. And I'm going to pickup an i7-7700K today too to go with that 1080Ti. Can't pass another openbox deal, $239 :D I was actually perfectly fine with driving it with the i3-7350K, since playing at 4K the bottleneck is usually the GPU itself. May not even be worth the trouble since the 7700k with the 1080Ti will be close to pushing my SFX 450 watt PSU to its limit..

What is the main difference between the Scorpio (Xbox One X) and the Xbox One S? Is it worth the money? It s £200 difference (£250 vs £450). I have PS4 and Nintendo but I'm just curious. This new Xbox looks adorable but I think that for the PS4 there is more exclusive games.

I will probably ended up with buying more games for my current consoles rather than buying again new console (I just picked up the Nintendo Switch).

But anyway, I just want to know, what is special in the new Xbox?

Im with @mpConroe . I have the original xbox one and it still serves me well. I plan on getting 4k eventually so that I guess will be one big reason to upgrade.

Here is a pretty good video with an interview of a MS rep explaining a lot of it.

Even if you don't have a new 4K television, the updated "enhanced" games will have higher resolution and better frame rates on the One X. I don't know your financial situation, so it is hard to judge the value proposition, but I'd say if you plan on getting an XBox and can afford it, the One X will certainly be more future proof. I preordered one.

Thanks for posting the video. It's actually really good and points all important things. This FORZA looks really damn good! I would play it with pleasure :D.

Yeah I don't have a tv here and I connect the console to the iMac using capture card.

I didn't decided yet, if I will go with next console, cos I really want this new iPhone X.

We will see how it goes.

Cheers! :)

BTW the iPhone X, the Xbox One X... Did you get it? :D

That's the way it is with PS4 Pro and Boost Mode or if the game supports higher framerates with the patch.

These new "mid-gen" consoles are definitely the way to play the latest games...

:(:(:( $500 is just a little too high for me. Maybe if I already had a 4K TV... I don't think it's over priced, just that I'm cheap.

I'm interested to see how Sony responds.:eek:

For what though? I’m not an avid gamer anymore and I know the Scorpio is a powerful system but doesn’t it play the same games as the one? I don’t see the point

It is not for you...

Mid-Gen consoles serve a purpose as this gen, there's so much advancements. Plus with RAM and GPU prices through the roof now, these mid-gen's a great alternative to building a PC (if your games are available, for now).

Higher resolution on 4K sets. For those without 4K, higher/more stable framerates, better textures/draw distances, less input lag, and for PS4 Pro users, a better VR experience...
