I passed on it once when it was in stock at Target but I've largely decided to move on to the XBox instead of the PS5, so if I see it come back, I'll be more likely to jump on itNo stock anywhere.
Target is the best bet for picking it up locally (if you have some near you). I follow the popular Twitter accounts and get notifications daily from them and the minute it drops). Already secured 5 ps5’s and four series x and one series S since November. Target just recently updated system to where if you order two or more under the same address, they will cancel all orders. Good luckAnyone still having trouble getting a series X? I've been following everything possible to keep on top of it but no luck.
Also, any stores carrying physical units?
Thanks
I can't speak for all stores, but you target only allows local pickup as a means to purchase the XBox. You cannot show up (if they had stock), nor could you select just ship it.Target is the best bet for picking it up locally
Yes, sorry for the confusion. Target is online purchase only and only local pickup (you cannot have it shipped). Good to know, thanks for the update on what may (or may not) happen with Target tomorrow.Supposedly Target will go live tomorrow morning, but only PS5 is confirmed. Hopefully target has series X/S for sale also.
No problem. Look for Jake Randall or Chito Gaming on Twitter and they’ll notify you the second it goes live. Usually from 6-7am est, so do calculations if your not in the time zone. Hope you get the system(s) you are looking for. It goes out of stock quick. Also keep spamming the add to cart button. Last time I swear I was trying to add to cart for 20 minutes straight and it finally carted then I paid. Also have your payment information inputted before midnight so I can just quickly pay for it.Good to know, thanks for the update on what may (or may not) happen with Target tomorrow.
Ive waffled so much on PS5 vs. XBox X - and I'm a Playstation person, but I think overall the XBox appears to be a better fit for me know and the future. There's only one, maybe two exclusives that I'll really miss - Horizon Zero Dawn comes to mind but the subscription that MS offers outweighs everything else.

Yeah I figured. I just was hoping they would split stock for online orders / physical store orders as they get them out. I was hoping to grab from Gamestop because I plan on trading in my xbox one (I don't think I will be able to sell it outright so might as well get $70 for it).I've never seen any of the new consoles in box in any stores ever...
AFAIK, they don't even exist...

Ah good point. I have two near me and no signs of closing anytime soon. However I will check with trades and get them done before they do close.Just about all the GS Stores around me are closing, I don't know if they are taking in any trades...
At this point buying third party and most likely paying the markup is going to be the only way for the time beingI lucked out and got one BNIB with receipt for $25 over retail through market place and took my chance
I was reading an interesting article, and they said now with the stimulus, [that was obviously distributed to those who qualify], I think will make a strain even harder to find a PS5/Xbox, because you will have those who will be more aggressive to -over pay- on various listings. They’re out there, and if you’re quick, you can make it happen. Plus, it also helps if you have a connection in the retail level that somebody can give you the 411 on stock allocation. It’s insane how hard these are to get. I lucked out and got one BNIB with receipt for $25 over retail through market place and took my chances. Coming from a One X, it’s definitely a worthy upgrade, especially for the games they’ve updated for it. As close as console has ever come to full PC gaming experience..
Keep trying! It’s worth it
interesting, most the stores are supposed to be closed by sometime in april 2021...Ah good point. I have two near me and no signs of closing anytime soon. However I will check with trades and get them done before they do close.
Aside from that whole stock thing, the writing was on the wall. The game industry is changing, and physical media is going by way of the dodo. They tried pivoting and changing, even buying thinkgeek, which was a quirky retailer, they tried parley its popularity on the web to brick and mortar stores and I think that just dragged them down faster.interesting, most the stores are supposed to be closed by sometime in april 2021...
One way that gamestop can re invent themselves is by revamping the stores to better cater to e-gamers.Aside from that whole stock thing, the writing was on the wall. I see the prices on eBay are hovering in the 800 dollar range, but there are a few in the mid 700 range but it seems most of those are coming from canada.
I don't see that happening, I was at a mall this past weekend, something i've not done in a long time. The place was busy, everyone was out and about shopping for spring/summer clothes it seems. Well anyways I popped into the gamestop there (it was a converted ThinkGeek store) and while a bit larger then most gamestop stores, it was dead in there, both in terms of people but also product. One way that gamestop can re invent themselves is by revamping the stores to better cater to e-gamers.
They could also get bigger stores and host competative gaming gaming.
Good luck, game consoles are just as hard to buy as GPUsGiven the lack of video cards and the situation will not improve in the near future, it seems to me that tomorrow I will go and buy Xbox Series X.

You are right. Digital game and gamepass will strangle chains like gamespot to death.I don't see that happening, I was at a mall this past weekend, something i've not done in a long time. The market has changed and getting physical media for a game is quickly turning into an endangered species.
Also I don't think trying to turn to competitive gaming wouldn't have any impact, since there's no real way, AFAIK to make a profit by hosting games.
Just my opinion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sadly for them. With physical sales, the publisher only receives a portion of the sale but as you know with digital sales (direct from the publisher) they receive 100% of the sales. Plus the lack of overhead in the cost of producing physical media, inventory, and shipping. Granted games are still being produced on discs but the volume has decreased. Plus gamestop is forever known for screwing consumers over when they trade games in, only offering a few bucks, but then turning around and selling that game for 20 or 30 bucks. You are right.
