Personally, I think the Series X is going to greatly overshadow the S. The S is great for those who want the ‘digital content’, but long-term resale value, will drop quick and overall, I’d rather have the faster clocked speeds on the X. Plus, I like to have physical media, which does have some direct advantages for trade-in/resale value.Just bought the S (I have a PS5 for my true next gen experience) and wondered what games you guys recommended? I’ve got the game pass.
All valid points. However people need to budget for a decent HDR 4k tv, sound bar and possibly even headphones.Personally, I think the Series X is going to greatly overshadow the S. I also have the PS, and I don’t necessarily think it’s going to be the next true Gen experience. I do think the loyalty lies with the exclusives that PlayStation has always has, but Microsoft is quickly catching up and made some really nice moves with Game Pass, and some other big titles that are expected to debut in 2022. Realistically, ‘console loyalty’ really relies on what the gamer was using for a prior console before they upgraded, if it was an Xbox One X, someone will upgrade likely to an Xbox ‘S or X’ for example.
You know, as a kid, I wanted to always be a pilot, but then I realize I sucked at math, and that would never happen. 😁But seriously, I’m really looking forward to flight simulator, I really think this will be unique experience, and the ‘real time weather’ events looks really interesting. All valid points. Some parents will buy one as a second console for their children. If flight simulator looks decent in 1080p on XSS, I for see many PS5 owners or aspiring pilots buying one just to play FS2020.
Do you have a hotas or yoke? I will likely bite the bullet and buy the turtle beach one.You know, as a kid, I wanted to always be a pilot, but then I realize I sucked at math, and that would never happen. 😁But seriously, I’m really looking forward to flight simulator, I really think this will be unique experience, and the ‘real time weather’ events looks really interesting.

I work from home and might even fly the odd 3-7 hour trip while working. During meetings when I not talking, I might even go on mute to land the plane.
I don’t have either. Can you post a link for the Turtle beach version? I’d be interested to enhance the experience. Seriously, I have the calendar days marked for this release. And I’ll be blasting my JBLs to hear all the aircraft nuances to follow.
Hotas One will be the obvious choice for many. I consider it very dated in need of a refresh. The throttle lacks a bit of precision l. However is very affordable, not too bulky and easy to stow away.

If you get bored of the yoke or don't have time to play FS2020, you could easily sell it and get at least 2/3rd of the money back. Microsoft have hinted that more accessories are coming. Looking forward to what the line-up will be in 1-2 months time. The Turtle beach unit has an insane amount of detail to it, I was not expecting that. For $350, that’s a lot of money, but it’s definitely for those who really want the most hard-core experience possible, and I agree, I would definitely wait for reviews, it looks like it’s not available yet. I’m not going to lie, I want it!
I think what I’m going to do, is play with the controller first to see how the experience compares before I move on to Turtle beach. What I’m curious about, is when does Turtle beach actually plan on launching the yoke? You would think they would have it out in time when the game launches, but there doesn’t seem to be a set date for release. If you get bored of the yoke or don't have time to play FS2020, you could easily sell it and get at least 2/3rd of the money back. There is a possibility that they are currently beta testing the yoke with youtubers using the final build of FS2020 for xbox. What I’m curious about, is when does Turtle beach actually plan on launching the yoke? I probably wouldn’t use the Yoke on a couch, I thought about how I would actually use it, and that would be pulling up a small table to one of the recliners in my ‘game room’, that way you have a flat platform you can actually use the entire yolk set up. I imagine this is also fairly heavy, so it probably would be uncomfortable just sitting on your lap on the couch and unwieldy. There is a possibility that they are currently beta testing the yoke with youtubers using the final build of FS2020 for xbox.
For the console experience to be couch friendly, the yoke will need default profiles and button mapping for 30 aircrafts. That requires lots of testing, feedback and debugging.
After the tsunami of negative press that Cyberpunk games, few businesses in the gaming industry are willing to risk their reputation by releasing a product that isn't 100% ready.you would want this third-party accessory to be readily available for those who actually want to have a full immersion of this experience alongside when they buy the game. I personally, would rather have it available at launch, then buying it months later after-the-fact.

Turtle beach can't finish optimisation for FS2020 until the xbox version is 100% final. Similarly, gaming studios weren't able to finalise their true next gen games before the PS5/XSX hardware and OS were final and bug tested.
You don't want to try ans drive a train while the track is being laid, or else you will spend the first post-launch week watching youtube videos about how broken your product is 😁
I don't blame you. The base game would be enough for me. I'll play it eventually on PC. I remember playing the original Flight Simulator when I was a kid.
This used to be true roughly 5 years ago. However, nowadays with big open world games, critical bugs are usually not discovered or fully resolved until several weeks after release. Sometimes, fixing one bug breaks something and so on. The only way to mitigate this is by having an open beta which most game studios don't like for valid reasons. The Xbox version of flight simulator launches in two weeks, I think it is safe to assume the final copy probably was completed months ago (Aside from any other coding or beta testing through patchwork), and it’s probably more about producing and shipping the game across the world.
Isn't it going to be available via GP? The base game is big (I have it on PC), but boy all the planes and places you can download make the game skyrocket in size (with a corresponding lightening of the wallet). This used to be true roughly 5 years ago. If I remember correctly, last year Microsoft said that FS2020 is so big that they would need to rely on the community to uncover and report bugs. It's a shame that game development has come to this. Deep inside I want to be hyped about new games but now I'm increasingly wary of pre-ordering or buying on launch day.
I will a digital copy of the game and hopefully snag some cheap DLC during a saleI cannot wait for this game but won't be able to play it before the 8th of August as I will be travelling(flying abroad) for work. 😩
First world problems eh. 😆

I will do some man maths and possible sign up to game pass for a month to buy the game at a discount, while dabbling in other games.I guess you could, in theory, take advantage of the $1 for first month (or first three months if that is still going on) and buy FS at the discounted rate.
Same here. Forget Hall. FS2020 is one of thr main reasons why I bought a Series X over a PS5.I just can’t believe it’s finally launching on the 27th. I remember when I first heard this was coming to the Xbox Series X, that would justify the purchase for this console alone for this game.
Yeah, I can't see that not workingI guess you could, in theory, take advantage of the $1 for first month (or first three months if that is still going on) and buy FS at the discounted rate.
Yeah, I can't see that not working
For me the positives of having the GP subscription outweigh the negatives
I am currently not a game pass subscriber for the following reasons:I'm waiting for more of their first party games to starting hitting. I don't see myself subscribing all the time as there are a lot of games I want to play that are not on the service right away. But that works since Microsoft lets you cancel your subscription at any time. I did the same thing with Ubisoft+ when I subscribed for $15 to play Watch Dogs Legion. Crap game, imo, but at least I didn't pay full price.
