Might be a copy but its kind of cool what you can "just do" on Android.

I personally would LOVE to get rid of those stupid flashlight and camera buttons on the lock screen.
Is it great for you to use an ios 16 launcher on Android?

As my description still says, I used to have a Xiaomi Mi 4.
It gave me incredible freedom but it felt absurdly refined and software was unbelievably good.
It clearly stole a lot from Apple but there also was pretty original stuff with the same quality. The knock-off game they play is just half of the story.
Their prices aren't the absolute bargain they used to be but I'd definitely consider buying another one if I needed an Android phone.

I expect this UI will be copied in some form of another on most of the Chinese skins. They are already copied iOS icon grid home screen, the control center behavior, so why not the island as well. :D

Samsung and co must be kicking themselves for not thinking of this for all the generation of hole punch displays they have been selling before Apple, I mean for sure they will ape after this way whilst trying to be different but its too late for them to call this their idea :)

Looking forward to seeing

Transient Archipelagos
Custom Raft
Ephemeral Platform
Changeable Floater
Temporal Monolith

Etc.

When will people realize most of Apple's new "game changing" features are just software tricks.

An iPhone X still has the same overall experience as the latest Pro, can't blame em, there isn't much to keep innovating. Just lipstick on a pig or a cat.
And yet Android OEMs fail so miserably in implementing these "lipstick" and "software tricks". MIUI can't even get a proper icon format right!

I guess it is a good idea, it helps the notification feel like part of the app is running on your screen in that little dot, and you're just expanding it by tapping it, vs notifications feeling like hyperlink shortcuts to the app. I still can't help but think that the "Dynamic Island" will suddenly disappear like Atlantis the moment Apple invents a good solution to put cameras under the display. There's no cameras on the long edge of the display, so dynamic island doesn't really work in landscape mode and hide the cameras at the same time.

The only difference in features between macOS13 and what was on the 1984's Apple Lisa are software tricks.
