What the heck is up with this? I spotted this on the Xs Max (there is no Xs option for the forums) Does this not bother anyone else? Is there more gravity on the right side of the screen? Why are the icons drooping?

It is even worse on the lock screen where the underlined bar extends down well below the notch making the screen look even more imbalanced!

The vast (and I mean vast) majority of users not only won't see something like that but won't care about it even if they somehow do.

Is this a Max-only thing? They line up perfectly on my X. To test, I took screen shots of Safari, home screen, and lock screen, then used the crop tool to check. All of them lined up perfectly, actually on both the top and bottom (meaning they’re also the same height).

Just tried it on my Max, and they are in fact perfectly lined up.
So how did OP get their phone like that?

Maybe it’s a glitch and the phone just needs to be hard-restarted. Or just an isolated incident. Or maybe even a clever photoshop. Who knows...

"Some" must spend the whole day looking for anything they can wrong with their phone.

I am thankful I am not one of them. Maybe these people do not work and have nothing else to do.

It is what makes us all different!

My job is literally testing websites and apps on mobile devices so... it is my job to notice these things

The OP is a solid contributor and often defends Apple's design decisions, so I think we can cut them a break for something that's pretty interesting (though it may wind up being a "one off" display issue that resolves itself with a restart).

Definitely not present on my X running iOS 12, OP, what device is this?

I noticed that bar under the lock screen was trying to figure out if it was a new option to do something.

Apple added the bar in OS 11 to indicate where to swipe down for the control center. It was in the 1st or 2nd update after the X was released.

Thanks for the defense. I swear people are way too defensive and can't handle a little tongue in cheek humor. Xs Max.. i checked my 2017 X and it is not there. however the forum does not have an XS / Xs Max option yet.

And I thought I was anal. Impressed by your ability to spot it, the bar has been raised.

Your puns are not lost on me! As stated before I'm a quality engineer in software, app and web development. I get paid to be anal. ;-) Not be confused with getting paid for .....
