I swore that mine were misaligned the other day, but when I just took a screenshot they were perfectly lined up. Not sure what’s causing the issue here. (Yes I’m using a Max)

I also wonder why a “screen shot” was able to show this defect on the OP’s MAX.
Why wouldn’t it...? A screen shot shows what’s on the screen. His screen’s status bar elements don’t line up, so certainly a picture of it would show that.

Personally I think they are lined up just fine. Draw your line from the outline of the battery instead of the solid portion and it lines up. At least on just the right side. If you line if all the way across there is a different but I think it’s due to the size increase of the clock.
OP’s are definitely not lined up. Look at the pics I (and others) have posted in this thread. Bottoms are supposed to line up perfectly.

Incorrect, not on my Max they’re not. It doesn’t bother me too much, but I did notice it. It’s more annoying that Apple can’t do something as simple as lining up icons
There must be sometime causing it, as multiple people in this thread have said their Max lines up perfectly.

I wonder if it’s a particular app, or API, or maybe even rotating the screen to landscape and back, which causes the bug. But I don’t have a Max so I can’t test any of this.

Agreed, hardly anyone will notice that slight difference.
It’s not about whether people would notice it or not. Steve Jobs wants all parts of Apple products to be great, even the inside where nobody would see it.

I’m guessing some misalignment in the UI scaling? Hopefully Apple fixes this.

The icons fluctuate to prevent burn in from the static icons. One of the things apple has done throughout iOS to prevent burn in. Can’t believe y’all don’t know this...smh

Yea it’s so obvious even a caveman knows it :D

But seriously that makes sense, looks like the mystery is solved now.

It’s to prevent burn in on the OLED screen.

That’s why it sometimes looked aligned and sometimes not.

No. They have never moved on my X. And there wouldn’t be burn-in, because they reset (or even change colors) every time you switch apps. Not only that, it’s just not a thing.

yup X and Xs seem to be fine. It's on the Max.

My phone is an XS Max.

It is not an X.

It is not an XS.

It is an XS Max with a 6.5” screen.

(This is the same phone that you have)

My battery, WiFi, and time indicators are perfectly level. ON MY XS MAX.

M. A. X.

The max, not the X or the XS,

(It’s the bigger model with a bigger screen.)

And level symbols (in my case), as I have shown.

but... it was a reply to.... Ralfi who said x

What the heck is up with this? I spotted this on the Xs Max (there is no Xs option for the forums) Does this not bother anyone else? Is there more gravity on the right side of the screen? Why are the icons drooping?

It is even worse on the lock screen where the underlined bar extends down well below the notch making the screen look even more imbalanced!

It's something very minimum which can be neglected easily. I had to look at it hard to see the flaw. Sorry what do you mean by this: however the forum does not have an XS / Xs Max option yet.

The tag at the start of the thread title. "[iPhone X] Xs Max: Argue about...."

The tag (which says [iPhone X]) should say [iPhone Xs Max], but that is apparently not yet an option when starting a new thread.

You measured them everyday on your X?
Of course not, but I very consistently notice that they’re lined up. I’m a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to symmetry, and always easily notice when things are off. It’s one of my quirks at work.

Thanks for the clarification.

Thanks for the clarification. Forum should have that tag by now. Probably moderaters didn’t like their Xs’s.

Totally agree. Mine line up too. Looks like a software glitch on the OP’s phone.

Restart.

The issue happens only in the 3rd party apps, not the apple developed apps coming with iOS.

Just checked mine, they also line up exactly. Restart your phone OP.
