Two speed tests - faster one is from the iPhone 7 Plus, and the slower of the two is from the iPhone Xs Max. Internet is running through an enterprise-class firewall and the AP is a Ubiquiti AP-AC-Pro.

Same SSID, about 10 feet from the AP. The 7 Plus was usable from anywhere on my property. The Xs Max is almost unusable if I go to the second floor of my house.

I am not pleased - Is anyone else seeing anything similar? The Max was set up as a new phone (no restore) - and I've tried disconnecting and re-connecting to the SSID, and using different SSIDs. Similar results.

I am getting massive speed on mine. I have 1gb down and 40 up with my cable internet at my house. EERO Pro Mesh wifi system.

I reset my settings and now it’s worse than before. My old X gets twice the bandwidth at home. Same network....shoot.

I always reset my network setting when I upgrade to a major iOS update. I actually was getting real slow upload speeds on my network, reset them and now they’re very good.

Never reset mine until I saw this thread. Lol would explain a few things. Now it’s buttery smooth. Still doesn’t explain why I’m not getting my gigabit speeds though. :( damn you Fios!

It’s tough to get gigabit speeds through wifi.

Even with 4x4 MIMO 866 MHz radio in the newest iPhones, the fastest you’ll see is ~600Mbps due to overhead. That assumes you have incredible in-home Wi-Fi router, too.

Honestly, not sure what my WiFi network would cap at. It’s a Ubiquiti setup, AC-Pro access points and an edge router x. All hardwired. Then hardwired to the fiber box.

Maybe your iPhone is locked onto the 2.4Ghz radio of the Ubiquiti?

Did reset speedtest at 469Mbps and fast shows 610Mbps . Some improvement, no complaints.

I am getting 100mbs slower (160 versus 60) WIFI home download speeds with my XS Max compared to my iPhone 7+.

I compared side to side using the Speedtest app. I reset my network settings twice in the XS.

I will drop by my Sprint store next week and try to get this resolved or a replacement.

With those speeds, you are connected to the 2.4ghz node.
Exactly. My Xs Max is stuck on the 2.4 ghz on my Linksys Velop mesh router. Can’t get it to shift to 5ghz. All of my other phones work fine jumping on the 5ghz.

You can also give the two nodes different names. That way, when you want to connect to a specific one, it is much easier.

Been thinking about that. Turned on band steering. Will see if that helps any. Internet chatter seems to concur that it does but if not, may need to break out the network and have two separate ssid's

Resetting settings didn’t do anything for me. But my 5ghz connection is quite good. The 2.4 is 25% of that speed. And I have a good router.

I reset network settings. That worked for an hour. Speeds suck again. Reset again, speeds back up. This may be the new “gate”. We have a robust network. Absolutely no reason to not be on the AC band. Disappointed.

Yeah something up. I can get my Max to get on my 5GHz and get good speeds, but a later connection it will get on 2.4GHz only. I can be in the next room. iPad mini same spot consistently goes on 5GHz.

Forgot network or reset network will work, but it doesn’t stay.

I reset my Linksys WRT1900AC router and my high speeds are back and normal. I am happy.
