Went from a max to pro max.
Waaaay better battery which is awesome.
Better camera
Faster obviously
Screen is brighter - which I don’t care for since I thought the max was too bright already
Better modem and reception

So, for those former Xs (Max) owners who upgraded to the new 11 Pro (Max), was it really worth it?
Yes. I wasn’t planning to upgrade but, did it anyway and glad I did. As stated, the camera and battery are stellar. I find the 11 Pro just runs smoother too. Waiting to see if LTE connectivity is better than my XS. So far it’s looking that way.

I’m apart of the group where I left because the battery on the XS was horrendous for me. Plus the camera upgrade was huge so it was 100% worth it.

I went from XS Max to 11 Pro Max mainly for the battery life and screen. I can see a slight improvement with the screen and a major improvement with battery life. Love it. No regrets!

For me, it's mostly battery life. I am getting at least 18 to 19 hrs of solid use. Yes, Camera and Night shots are good. But you can also get the night shots on the 11 as well, not just the pro models. Over all, I am the kind of guy who want the latest and the greatest on day one of it's availablity. :)

I didn’t order mine on pre order day because I was going to skip it this year. I figured the camera upgrades might be naff.

I was wrong. I saw the camera samples and was hooked, ended up ordering the day before release.

This morning I became a US Citizen and whilst I was having lunch with my family I was looking through all the photos I’ve taken over my years of living here, including footage of the ceremony. Those photos are so precious to me and I realized I probably wouldn’t have taken half of them if I didn’t have a phone to make it so easy and ubiquitous.

My phone, as much as it’s used for work, communicating, learning, etc. will ultimately be known to me as the thing that lets me document my most treasured moments. Anything that enhances the digital record of those moments is worth the investment to me. I agree with what others are now realizing, the iPhone is more camera than it is phone. The iOS 13 photos app update is one of the best things Apple has shipped in a while for that reason.

That’s a long winded way of saying I upgraded because of those cameras — and yes, it was bloody well worth it.

Battery, camera, and future pro only software updates are enough for me. I could care less about a little bit brighter screen and a faster processor. My previous XS max was plenty fast.

Battery test, Apple products only

Mixed brands
Man.. I’m glad I called an audible. Ordered the 11 & then changed to 11P at this store. Only got beat by 15 minutes in that intensive test by 11PM.

I returned my 11 pro today. Not worth another $1250. Battery life is good. Ultra wide is ok. Screen is just brighter. I'm coming from a XS Max. The one issue I had was the phone could not hold onto a wifi signal as good as my pixel. I had the same issue on the new phone.

Interesting thread! I have the 512GB XS Max right now, which I paid a lot to upgrade from an X when it had hardware problems. And I felt like that was a questionable expenditure. Had zero interest in upgrading again -- but this talk of way better battery life is compelling.

Maybe eventually ...

Congratulations on becoming a US citizen.

Highly doubt you’re going to get anyone to say something negative even if they feel that way. Human nature is to justify their purchases, especially one that’s over $1,000 dollars

I was quick to say how much I disliked my 12.9 IPP but I did exchange it for an 11 inch one. :D

The camera is super nice. But worth it? Nah. If the camera is your main reason for using a phone or it’s a huge selling point then absolutely. But if you seldom take pictures or aren’t into photography even a little. Skip it.

I’m not a huge picture taker but that’s the camera that the Max phone comes with and I like the Max size. If there was a non Pro Max I may have gone for that.

To be honest, the 11 Pro is a mess with iOS 13.1 I have a X and am seriously considering taking a $50 hit from Verizon and bringing my 11Pro back. BTW, the X has better reception than the past 2 years models. Apple is seriously starting to suck.

I upgrad from a XS max and downsized to an 11 pro. That battery life is game changing. I have only taken a few pics but yes the camera is noticeably better. Phone is snappier. It was worth the upgrade for me.

Well, I went from iPhone X to Xs as well, so this upgrade felt like upgrading from an iPhone 6 to an iPhone 7 at least. The much improved camera system as well as the greater battery life are the main reasons that justify upgrading from the Xs to the 11 Pro. At least it does so for me.
