Battery life is great for me. 49% since 6PM yesterday. My XS which was only a couple months old would have died by now.

...don't understand everyone saying stuff about the battery?!! Its literally just an extra 4 hours - its not like you're getting an extra day of battery. If your battery is super great, it more than likely because the phone is new.

I chose NOT to upgrade my current XS (and yes I'm on the upgrade program) - its battery is still great (easily get 2 to 4 days on a single charge) +I'm not a great camera user, so those features were redundant for me. Just because people are on the program, doesn't mean they will ALL upgrade.....

Makes you wonder if people are REALLY using their phones or all they are doing is just checking the battery life lol. My XS Max can either last a whole day or half a day depending on how I use it or how much I use it. Pretty relative if you ask me.

But they camera on the new iPhones... still very tempting but I’ll hold out to next year.

For me the added battery on the new models, may in fact sway me towards the Pro this tear instead of the Max version. Everyone's use case is different, sure it's not like it gets up to 4 days more, but any improvement is still great.

I use mine, and the extra battery life makes a difference for me, not having to need a charger as often.

XS Max has 15 hours of video playback, 11 Pro Max has 20. That is a full 25% more which in my opinion is a breakthrough. Would you not be ecstatic with 25% more salary? If you win the lottery, would a jackpot of 25% more not be significant? 25% more gas efficiency for your car? We get it, you like your XS Max and don't feel the need to upgrade...

Definitely a worthy upgrade from the XS Max to 11 Pro Max. Battery life is amazing and wow those cameras!

25% more is nice and for those who can justify the cost it's a fantastic upgrade. However if I were to trade in or sale (let's use Apple's trade in numbers) - it would be $775 out of pocket if I were to trade in my XS Max. For some people that improved camera and battery life is worth the $775 - for others... well that's a pretty steep cost for what can be considered a marginal upgrade and might be more worth it to hold out till next year. If I were on an iPhone X or older, I would totally jump on it though.

Loving the upgrade so far.

Way better battery life. I'm able to get through 2 full days with my normal usage or through 2 work days with the phone dying by the end of the work day with slightly above normal usage.
I'm loving the camera upgrade. The pictures look fantastic and I love the night mode.
Call conectivity is a lot better in low reception areas. I can actually answer a call and it not drop unlike my Xs Max that dropped 95% of low reception calls.
The is super fast. Not saying the Xs Max wasn't fast, but I can see a difference.

XSM —> 11PM

No regrets here at all.

5 hours more would be a 33.3% increase from 15, so even better!

In all seriousness though, as another commenter said, it’s a pretty steep out of pocket expense to go from XS to 11 Pro for what may not feel like a 33% better device to some. Said another way, my $1000 XS is only worth $500 using Apple trade in value. That’s 50% depreciation. Sales tax and the case would be a total loss. Apple is giving $400 for the X, so assuming the XS gets that a year from now, I’ll only “lose” $100 in depreciation this year (10%). That shiny new 11 Pro would cost me another $500 in depreciation on top of the $650+ out of pocket to get it. It’s an awesome phone no doubt, but not worth that for some. For others, it’s totally worth it and they’ll have a fantastic phone.

I may be in the minority here but I just got back from returning my 11 pro max green 256 because of the buggy beta feel it had and the fact that haptic touch felt like a huge downgrade from force touch to me in a very annoying way

Highly doubt you’re going to get anyone to say something negative even if they feel that way. Human nature is to justify their purchases, especially one that’s over $1,000 dollars
Honest criticism is always welcome, after all nothing human is perfect. It’s the dishonest criticism and trolling that gets boring.

if the price is worth it to you, than it’s worth it to you. No amount of attempting to back into the value by someone else will be on the mark.

It got me today also. I ended up returning the pro max and got the 11 instead. I couldn’t justify the extra cost for the pro max based on my needs.

It worked out though. The Apple employee messed up the exchange which ended up with me losing a phone for a few hours. The manager was able to fix everything several hours later and gave me a free case and screen protector without me even asking for the troubles. So it worked out well.

XS Max to 11 Pro Max for me. I was hesitant but glad I did: faster, better battery, great camera and feels better in the hand. Face ID is way faster too but not sure if that's an iOS 13 thing.

finally got my 11 Pro Midnight Green! :)

pretty happy with it, especially the new cameras and in particular the lowlight photos.
Everything feels a tad faster again, compared to my Xs.

I am reading tons of good battery/standby time of the new 11 Pro. So really excited for that in the near future

Different priorities, different use cases. A 4hr increase in almost exactly the same form factor is a massive improvement and makes the difference between keeping a phone pocketed to last through the day for the odd emergency, or being able to study or entertain one’s self before reaching a destination where charging is possible.

On hardware side, I'm glad I did - the updates are great even if only in a few areas. I have to say, though, on the OS side, I'm kicking myself for not waiting until iOS 13 is sorted out. The odd thing is that I didn't have any of the problems with 13 on my XS Max that I'm having with my 11 Pro Max (which doesn't make much sense). It's bad enough that I was looking at prices on used XS Max phones yesterday so I could roll back to 12.4.1, which should tell you how I'm feeling about iOS 13 on this phone.

Yesterday I got a brand new XS from Apple (90days warranty) and I plan to sell it for upgrading to the 11 Pro.
Difference would be 300€ I‘ll guess.

Pros:
- Battery life, sometimes I hated it on my XS
- Brightness, can I really see the extra nits outdoors? Very important
- better contrast, visable?

Neutral:
- Camera, I do not really care

Cons:
- Thicker and heavier, with my small and thin hands I really feel it
- I will definitely buy a redesigned 2020 iPhone without the notch
- Cannot decide between gray, green and silver ;)

What do you guys mean?
