Yeah there's something wrong. Mine is yellowish and it's not as bright as my 6+ sitting at my desk with normal lights on. I thought it was me this weekend when I thought my 6+ had a better screen. When I put them side by side right now it's clear my 6+ is a brighter, sharper screen. Sigh.

Sorry to hear man, you definitely dont have one of the panels Displaymate tested. Go get it swapped out. Put it next to the beautiful display models that always seem to have perfect screens for some reason. Imagine people holding Apple accountable for waning to get exactly whats put on display.

All I want is the yellow to dissapear at the bottom. My keyboard is half white half yellow. Sometimes it dissapears on iPhones and sometimes not. I have had both happen.

This is exactly my problem.

I don't care if the screen is warmer, but the uneven tint is pissing me off.

Most pictures that I have seen and even in store, I notice that the bottom part where the half of the keyboard are much more yellow than it should be.

I will check back the store if they have extra Jet Black 256GB 4.7 by end of 14 days return period. If not, this phone is going back for refund.

Apple promised 25% brighter screens, there is no way it can be that fact if the screen is now a yellow tinted one. So obviously, this is not correct.

I thought that about my phone as well but if I bring my 7 and my 6S out in bright daylight the 7 is more readable FWIW. Auto brightness on.

my guess is this is where Apple is touting 25% improvement, with auto brightness on as peak brightness is higher in high lighting environments than off

I've checked my wifes phone again and after doing the fix from the settings and accessibility i turned it off and the yellow is still there it is brighter but idk i might just go and give it back in a few days hope apple has some in stock.

Could very well be the case. Good point.

The Note 7 (RIP) has a +1000nits display....but it can only reach that level on auto brightness. I think manual max is something closer to 800nits for the N7.

Possibly the same story with the iP7 series :)

It's not too bad but it has a slightly yellow tint as every other phone out there..... with the color tint I can fix it but it lowers the brightness of the phone slightly. Anyway to retain the brightness while being able to change the tint...?

No evidence exists cause no review site has tested a yellow panel vs a blue panel. Testers all assume, like you have, that all panels are the same.

See, this is what I mean. You always make this claim. I guess all of the labs and professional testers out there got lucky and got one of the select few good displays out there. Consumer Reports must have gotten lucky too. They used secret buyers through regular retail channels to procure the iPhone 7s that they tested. I guess they got lucky too, huh?

Bryan you and the other apple defenders in here are operating using the same mentality as the posters in this sapphire thread:

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-7-plus-sapphire-lens-cover.1998488/

"Apple said so, so it must be true"

In the meantime, you can witness with your very eyes the scratch test where a level 6 pick scratched the lens cover. Now people are saying the guy switched picks.

What does this have to do with this conversation? Well, it does show one thing: you put great faith and belief in some "guy" on YouTube.

You can believe a YouTube'r. I'll stick with the scientific labs and thorough tests.

Yeah take it back and swap for a phone that has a display matching the floor models.

Go in setting >accessibility > display accommodations>Color filters and scroll down to the color tint and adjust color tint as per your preferences

from what ive read no iphone 7 has a non yellow screen

This is actually not true. I received a "yellowish" tinted screen from my pre-order on Friday and decided to wait a couple of days to see if it would clear up. I compared it to my friend's new 7 and there was a night and day difference.

So I went to the Apple Store and explained it to them as well as showed them the screen both with the color filter in accessibility>Display Accomodations correcting the yellow and with the filter off. Once they saw that there was a problem they said they would replace the phone. once you actually see how the screen is supposed to look it is amazing. The whites truly are white and not a "cream" or "yellow" color and the colors are very vibrant and pop.

Also, the brightness issue I had was fixed. At max setting, the brightness is almost too bright and I can definitely tell its 25% brighter than the previous phones even with the auto dim turned off.

Overall I'd say if you feel like you have a yellow screen and aren't happy with it, take it back. The screen should be perfect especially with Apple advertising the wide color gamut and making it a big selling point of the phone.

Hope this helps everyone that was in the same situation I was over the weekend.

See my post above.

You shouldn't have to be using the color filter to adjust it for screen yellowness. When you use the filters it throws black as well as other colors off.

Good idea. The more yellow screens get returned, the stronger the message we can send to Apple to stop relying on customer apathy to make a buck.

using my new iPhone 7 now for about 4 hours and my screen remains yellow-ish. Tried reboot, dfu and then iOS 10.0.1 installed. Nothing really helped.

I read some people saying the glue needs to dry out, others say that is b*llshit.

more iPhone 7 (Plus) owners with a yellow(ish) screen?

I had this in my ipod touch 2nd generation which was released with external speakers and this is long time ago. Mine didn't went away and i dont like the yellow screen on any of my idevice if they have one. Most likely it wont change on your iPhone because i asked about one of my devices and he said apple receives parts from different manufacturers. You can check the display iphones in apple store if they have yellow screen. At least some should have yellow screen if it's a glue issue. Hopefully your issue resolves.

Every year there is this thread. Every year I have got an amazing screen that lives up to everything Apple has claimed. It's a lot brighter than my friend's 6S Plus when it is put side by side. The screen is not yellow at all, and all of the colors are very natural to me.

@kre62 changing the tint in settings is the same thing we did with color profiles, remember?

Yeah i know but it looks artificial to me. It did on my 7 as well and colors still not as deep nor text as sharp. So id rather get one of the physically better screens.
