Ahh I didn't even think of that. If I got mine through t-mobile, does apple still cover it/exchange it since the warranty is with them. Or I have to go through t mobile?

You have to go through the carrier. I learned this lesson the hard way many years ago and now only buy from apple, specifically make returning yellow screen phones easier.

An interesting note. Two new 7 Plus arrived today at work and the one on the left was already on iOS 10.0.1 while the one right on 10.
This makes me believe that the left was manufactured very recently which is great because it seems to have a slightly better screen than the one on the right. So maybe, just maybe we'll be seeing some more consistency in the screens going forward.

So I noticed on your screenshot you have different backgrounds with the CCenter up. Try changing the background to the same screen and make a comparison. On the LEFT you have the GENERAL background and on the RIGHT you have the SETTINGS up. Make them both the same. Remember the background image "bleeds" through to the CCenter a bit, like a blur effect.

Matte black iphone 7 at full brightness. Screen is perfect to my eyes but the screen protector refracts some light / color. Haven't seen info yet on what factories these phones with yellow screens come from, if it even matters. But yeah, all of us should not settle for piss yellow screens. The 1st two characters of my serial number are F4.

This makes sense, but then what does apples 1 year warranty cover?

So has a correlation been found between the serial number and yellow screens? Now I'm starting to doubt my screen. It seems to change depending on my location. I'm officially losing my mind

Beautiful! The screen all should demand!

Plenty of reports now that people are finding non yellow display phones and are getting replacements with non yellow screens. Look at some of the other threads like yellow gate. It's confirmed that yellow phones are the defects.

I am aware of that...read my post.

Standing alone it is not bad, take a picture of it alongside a 6s.

Already did it using my iPad, I rather not look at my picture again. :)

I have to admit mine is better than a few days ago.

You can bring it to Apple and they will swap it with a genius bar phone, potentially refurbished. They will not do a new retail box exchange on a carriers phone. Thats the difference. Once you swap for a genius phone you can no longer return it (serial #s dont match), so you are stuck cycling through genius phones to get a good screen.

i can tell his screen is one of the good ones. You can see the clear, non tinted, accurate colors, and the milky white soft backlight.

Another pic. Same settings. IPad Pro screen is same colour as iPhone 6s Plus. Checked with the wife's iPhone 6 and I pad mini 4 and they all seem about the same. iPhone 7 plus screen seems way too yellow compared to all and not bright enough.

I don't have a 6S anymore to compare it to. Here it is next to my iPad Pro 9.7. This darn screen protector on my phone, lol. I hate that all the quality ones don't cover the entire screen and cause some distortion.

Edit- had to cover up my email address on my iPad!!

oh no what other issues?

Well, my thunderbolt headphones only work when plugged into the phone one way, and even then sometimes they stop playing and the music starts playing out of my phone's speakers. My adapter seems to be ok, I've listened on my old headphones with no issues, but that kinda bugs me that the new headphones are that flaky. Also, possibly unreleated, but they're dirty. There's a small amount of dirt around the edge of the connector, and the headphones have not left this obsessively clean desk since I got the phone on Friday.

My bluetooth on my 7+ is very flaky. It sporadically stops playing in my car (2016 BMW 2-series) and my BT headphones (Bose Soundlink II) and I have to reconnect by toggling BT on/off.

I also get one less bar of service consistently around my condo. I normally only get 2-3 inside, and now I'm getting 1-2.

I dunno, I really want to like this phone but.. hmm. I'm beginning to consider what the resale market will look like next year if these issues persist.

If we do want to exchange, does Apple exchange only when bought directly from them? Or even if bought from, say, Verizon (which is what I did)? Was wondering if it may be better to try another source in hope to get a cooler phone.

Apple will replace it a device swap, but if you don't get apple care before the swap you won't be able to get it afterwards. VZW will do a box swap.

It sure if anyone has seen this but I have just tried on an iPhone 6 alongside an iPhone 7 http://iphone.appleinsider.com/arti...will-lead-to-more-faithful-color-reproduction

Also on speaking to an apple senior advisor and the Genius Bar staff in the Liverpool store they have all said the same that all iPhone screens are the same on the 7's and apples way of moving away from the "cold" white of the older phones.

They are wrong, and not informed, and giving you the easiest answer they can. You can clearly see in this thread people getting screens that match the 6s and other past phones and idevices. People say its intentional every year. it isn't.

Well then I'm afraid you've backed yourself into a corner, old chap.

I posted a link to a guy who took his yellow screen, compared it to display models, found that it did not match the clear, blue display screens, got it exchanged, and now has a clear screen that matches the display models AND has the promised +25% brightness.

SO, if you are now saying the yellow panels are NOT the defects, and you pointed out in rebuttal to looking at the guys story that there ARE defects out there, then you must be saying that the display models, AND the replacement phone the guy got are the defects. That means this guy swapped a non-defective phone for a defective one right?

This must mean that when you get your 7, you will place it next to your 6s, and if the screen temp matches the 6s, you got a defective phone and will be swapping it out for the 'more correct' yellow panel right?

Let me make this easy, heres what we know:

1) There are two versions of the panel out there. One is yellowish, and has measured brightness levels lower than the 6S. The other is clear, blueish, and matches the temp of the iPhone 6S, but with even better colors and +25% brightness (as promised in the keynote).

2) The yellow versions are the defects

3) Neither you nor me know how many defects there are in production

So you need to concede points 1 and 2, and I'll concede point 3. Sound fair enough?

Man, you are nuts! Thanks for the chapter of writing above and no thanks for trying to put words in my mouth, but I have no interest in playing.

I don't believe in your theories on the iPhone nor your habit of returning dozens of phones just to get one that you think is "just right". Too bad Apple doesn't track you better so they could give you your money back and tell you to take a hike.

That doesn't make much difference in this instance.
