its possible but the number of complaints are overwhelming. And I took my comparison shots with my Canon 5D MarkII in RAW which does NO white balance adjustments. Does everyone need to use a grey card now for this to be a credible complaint? Nonsense. I think you're reaching and this is a legitimate issue.

When I have time later, I will calibrate my phones. My x-rite works with the Pantone color true iOS app. I use it sometimes to show my work properly calibrated on my phone. it should show us the differences between the two phones.
 
If I got my phone through t mobile, am I better off getting it swapped asap or should I wait it out a little. I figure t mobile has a 2 week period but I'll still be fine under apples 1 year warranty?
 
For all those people who are saying yellow isn't a defect. Are you saying the people with crisp white 7s have faulty phones? You can't have it both ways, either yellow is faulty or blue/white so which is it? All this talk about glue is pap too. That would not explain why the screens are all different straight out of the box. I have seen 2 iPhone 7s built exactly the same week, one with a more yellow screen than the other.

So I got my iPhone 7 black swapped today at the Genius Bar and the display is beautiful! It's actually creamy white and matched the color and warmth and brightness of the display iPhone 7's they had at the store.

If u have a yellow screen go get it replaced/exchanged! (Btw before swapping the phone the technician actually performed a device firmware update and nothing changed.)

fixed it for me. Ive been doing it since 2010 with color profiles


Although even with display accommodation off Its not yellow. just white. which is too white for me. I like blue lol. My own opinion.

Good to know! Getting mine swapped out in a day or two. The tech noticed the bottom half was yellow and noted it in the swap notes. I honestly think some displays are just faulty and the display models can be cherry picked. I compared my phone to about 7 of the 7Plus display models, and the ones at the store weren't cherry picked because only 1 out of 7 looked good with even color temp throughout. The rest were either dull or had yellow tinting, either throughout or in blotches like my phone.
Interesting to note that every iPhone 6 is massively brighter and of course cooler temp than my phone.

Some of my keyboard keys are more yellow than other keys. It's either glue or something else. Maybe you guys are right about the displays drying faster too.
 
Maybe you guys wont believe me but when i got the iphone last friday it was also yellowish. But today its not that yellow anymore. It looks now its white only bit warmer than my iphone 6. I will make a picture tonight when i get home.

The iPhone 7 has a warmer screen than iPhone 6/6s.
This is the new DCI-P3 Panel, wich is a professional, right calibrated display.

I was used to my iPhone 6 for 2 years and I thought it was "white" and normal.
Now after 4 days of using my iPhone 7 its white and normal too.
But if I take my iPhone 6 now, i clearly see that it has a massive blue-tint and looks not natural like the 7 does.

I made some more pictures with my DSLR.
Pictures are taken at morning on my bed, both phones lying in direct harsh sunlight coming from the window.
You can see on the top edges on the phones that the light is really harsh.
To my eyes, the iphone 7 is clearly brighter, more natural and better readable.

You gotta stop telling people it's all in our heads. My 7 Plus screen is not only more yellow than my old 6s Plus it's also darker, more inconsistent and not nearly as clear. Is that in my head too?
Also, in your situation the iPhone 7 is better than the 6. I would prefer that one too

Congratulations on getting an iPhone 7 with a good display.

It is not all in their heads. Have you compared the photos of other iPhone 7 displays shown in this thread with the photos of your iPhone 7 display?

Apple claimed 25% more brightness.
Your 7 has to be noticeably brighter, at least in harsh light situations. Just like shown in my pictures.
If this is not the case, your phone is defect. Simple as that.
Go exchange it.

I don't suppose anyone here with a 'yellow' screen has a tool to measure nits?

Both sides of the argument come up with good points, but I would like to ask the Yellow-gaters one thing: How do you explain the conclusion from DisplayMate that states the iPhone 7 screen is warmer than the iPhone 6s screen (for colour accuracy purposes)?

I know you guys can see a physical difference and even in brightness, but I'd just like an answer to the question: The complaint is that the display is yellow, but a company testing the display specifically states that the display is meant to be warmer. Can you explain this?

Your point is valid. But some of the photos that I have seen here show iPhone 7 displays that are not only yellow but also less bright and less sharp than iPhone 6s displays. Moreover, the widely varying experiences reported in this and another thread in this forum strongly suggest that Apple might be using more than one supplier for the iPhone 7 displays. If so, what DisplayMate concluded is of limited application.
 
I'm a bit of a mixed bag - the brightness is not drastically dimmer but it is noticeably so, and is definitely yellower. However my text is super sharp. When I was pairing my Watch and you sere the white text on the Watch app's dark background, it's crystal clear.

Thats how a 7 is supposed to look compared to a 6.
Thats the 25% more brightness Apple claimed, in harsh light situations.
If your 7 doesnt look like mine, exchange it.

I don't have an appropriate camera to deal with how the brightness is in harsh light. I can't distinguish the two in harsh light, because of the harsh light.

I found an interesting app that measures luminosity in lux and lumens: Light Meter by Vlad Polyanskiy. I do not know if it can be used to measure the relative brightness of two or more displays.
