The screen of my iPhone SE ist COMPLETELY yellow, it's ridiculous. iPhone 4 on the left, both at ~ 50% screen brightness. Night Shift on the SE is OFF.

Opinions?
I think you need to increase the brightness of the 5SE's screen. It's clearly dimmer in that picture so we can't make a fair comparison.

Someone else commented that it looks as if Night Shift is on, which was my first thought. Can you let us know if that was actually the case?

UPDATE: Never mind. You already said it was off in your original post.

Here you go, both at 100% brightness. SE on the left this time.

Night Shift is off, believe me. I already made a soft reset, gonna make another hard reset before returning it tomorrow.

Older used 5S's and 5's have that issue.

Is it possible Apple's using recycled screens? It's my understanding that's a pretty tell-tale sign of a screen that has been replaced on older 5's and 5S's.

Compared to my 5, the SE is defintely warmer, not as drastic as the photo above though. The 5 looks white and blue and the SE almost looks like it has Night mode on its lowest setting. Very weird how its a cream color and not just white. I also have a yellow line at the top. Not returning just yet, going to wait a week to see if it changes.

Apple are too stubborn when it comes to screen technology. They need to introduce something new. The amount of ipads i've had to return due to poor screens is beyond a joke

Yeah, but if you have to go through 4 new ones before 1 is acceptable it's all good for the declining sales numbers... ;)

I also compared the SE to my 15" rMBP, iPad Air and my girlfriend's iPhone 6 Plus.
It's just yellow compared to all those other screens. I wouldn't care about a little warmer, but this looks faulty to my eyes.

I've noticed that th SE has a much dimmer screen than my iPhone 5 had like I mentioned before I need to have it at about 70% otherwise it's too dim. I've even turned it down to 20% and its super dark like it's almost off, my 5 was never like that.

That's 100% unacceptable. I would definitely not accept that phone. Good luck finding an exchange though. I just returned my defective one because there aren't any left in my area.

its just glue, it should go away as it dries, I noticed it yesterday and now its so faint I can barely see it. This has happened before with new releases, they are coming pretty much direct from the factory and not sitting around in warehouses.

I've heard that before with my OnePlus One.. It never went away. Now it's possible that it might but for now I will stick with my white screened 6s.

Wow, that is REALLY bad. This was such a common issue on the 4/5 screens, and it looks like it has come back to haunt us on the SE. This is one issue that bothered me for so many years, that I was happy to see they really addressed with the 6 era. I returned many phones because of the yellow screen back in the day. You should absolutely return that phone. Not ok by any standard.

its not glue lol. It "faded" bc your eyes are getting used to it.

Yellow tinted displays are software. My 6S has it. I JB it, installed a tweak to change the tint of the screen and now its more cool.

Picture I took back in 2010...

I'm no expert, but I highly doubt it's a software issue. I've heard both affirmations and denials about the glue theory.

I can prove its software.

My stock iPhone 6S has it. I then jailbreak the 6S. Download a tweak called color profiles. Color profiles has a slider where you can make your screen as yellow or blue tinted as you want.

That is software related. Even Apples night shift is software related as it makes your screen more yellow or "warm" tinted at night.

The glue theory only applied to random circles of yellowness on the screen during the iPhone 4 days. Glue is not the cause of the ENTIRE screen being yellow as proven in the pictures above.

THIS is glue.

If it's software (serious question) why does it differ from phone to phone?
Because every iPhone is calibrated in a different way. That's why if you set 100 iPhones side by side. Yellow screen or not they will all differ in some degree.

Im talking about the OP, not the thread hijack, my SE is yellowed at the very top of the screen only, that is supposed to be glue and should go away

I have to agree and I think we should differentiate between a completely yellow tinted screen like mine and some yellow stripes/corners.
I do believe that my screen just wasn't properly calibrated, since it's uniformly yellow.
These yellow spots on the other hand could be some glue or some other hardware related issue.

Sorry for the thread hijack btw ;)

I'm in the camp it is software also. Now, the tops and edges being yellow but the center being more saturated or blue/white is definitely hardware and quality control, or lack there of. But all yellow....software.

The OS update released last night fried my 5 and took my phone in to the Apple Store to see if it could be fixed. My 5 had a yellow area at the top and was told this morning by a worker that the yellowing means it is water damage. I purchased the SE and realized when I got home that it the whole screen in a dark yellow (without the night shift on). It can't be water damage!

I'm exchanging it because the screen looks terrible!

Bought an se yesterday and took it home. About 30 minutes into setup the screen flashed and the bottom third of the screen went nuts. Think pink columns and once in a while I could see the icons from the second screen. Nothing would fix it. Took it back to apple and they wanted to give me a replacement white box phone to replace a 3 hour old se. Was going to do it until they told me if I accepted the replacement, I could not return the phone. Refund since no one has any se's in stock.

Thought I was one of the few with screen issues. Looks like maybe I'm not. So far, really not pleased with this release. Seems amateurish, un-apple like.

? Have you been through a release before? Other years have had ginormous threads with people who have had issues.

My screen is slightly more yellow than my 6, I noticed - I held them side by side and my 6 has a more 'blue' tone. Not enough to really bother me, though. I think I remember noticing my 6 being more blue-toned when I first got it in comparison to my 5s.
