Right on. Sometimes when I look at my iP12, I marvel at how bright white, crisp, and vibrant it is compared to my 11Pro. And then I check to see if True Tone is even on and to my amazement, it is. This F17 display is perfect. Perfect displays exist; they’re out there.
How is the 5% grey uniformity?

I don’t really see any uniformity issues with my display. I have a very OCD mind; perhaps, if I look at my display straight down from top to bottom, I can see a very, tiny, slight warmness towards the bottom of my screen. However, looking straight ahead at the screen, it’s near flawless.

Got my 12 pro max this morning, True Tone, night shift, auto brightness off, photo taken with my iPad Pro, screen looks perfect to me, uniform display and white screen, placed my pro max next to my iPad Pro, my 12 pro max looks whiter than my iPad pro.

sorry about the picture quality, only have my iPad to take the photo with.

So what gives, i opened the same in safari on my 12 and i am getting one more thread on the bottom than you??

So I compared my gf 11 pro to my 12 pro. The screens are nearly identical. Except hers gets blue when tilting the phone and mine goes yellow. What gives? Lol

My F17 iPhone 12 Pro is more yellow than my iPhone XS and has the greenish screen problem with black content. I will return it next week.

I’m in NZ, received my Silver 256GB iPhone 12 Pro Max around 11 hours ago. I’ve been disappointed to find the screen very yellow by my standards, especially when compared to my old iPhone 7+ (although I believe it was on the cooler side but I could live with that). Serial number starts with G6TD if anyone is interested. I pre-ordered it from local carrier “2 Degrees”.

After reading a lot of advice on this thread, I think I’m going to try get a replacement from Apple in January, to get one with a more accurate screen.

What is the process to return?

My display is pretty yellow. Do I simply go back to the store or do I need to order a new one and then return the yellow one?

Could you take a pic so comparing both TT off etc. ? Thx

Welp my 12 mini is a whole lot more yellow than my X / iPad 2018

Installing the iOS 14.2 update now but thinking of returning it and waiting a month or two for a better batch possibly

This is disappointing as I really like the phone otherwise

Thank you, now we know that iPhone 12 Pro Max and iPhone 12 Mini Panels are coming with a Yellow/Warm panel too whether they are manufactured by Samsung or not.

Waiting for better batches is still very random and there is absolutely no evidence that they will be 100% coming with a much better panel.

ugh this is impossible to take a picture of. i took one with my pixel 2 and that shows no difference, then i took another one with the iPad that SOMEWHAT shows it but trust me it looks a LOT worse in real life. iphone x on the left, iphone 12 mini on the right.

I can see a light difference where effectively the iPhone mini screen looks warmer.

The looks like True Tone is on.

got my iPhone 12 Pro Max in the post a couple of hours ago (uk)

G6TD serial .. gold 256gb

compared to my 11 pro (silver 256gb) , the display is clearly more yellow.

I don’t have a 3rd camera to take a photo

Why does this happen??? People are saying that every year the first batch of phones come with yellow screens. Is there a reason for this?

anyway what’s the next step.. do you guys hold on to the phone for a while then return in a couple months? Or is it worth getting a replacement now..?

does it affect the yellowness issue as well somehow?
I was wondering this as well. Could Apple adjust color temp for specific displays via software update?

That’s what I’m wondering! Is it possible to exchange it after several months? I just need Apple Care+ right?

I’m just reluctant to accept the idea because I’m currently in South Korea, and I know Koreans don’t generally operate the same way when it comes to customer service. It’s easier to get things replaced in the states :(
