Same. The second the Apple logo pops up, I already know.

For people holding onto yellow screens, set up an express replacement in about 3 weeks. I usually do this and I get a good white screen each time. I usually set mine up after christmas
Express replacement requires AppleCare right? I have a ticket open right now with Apple Support and they are having their engineers looking at it, along with some sample photos of the difference.

Found some interesting pictures from apple support forums. That red tint on the left is super weird

So I've not had any luck with the screen lottery 😫

First iPhone 12 Pro (G6TDGAPK0D8X) ordered online on launch day is noticeably yellower than my iPhone X, and the replacement which I got today (G6TDN0KB0D92, having bought it from the online store) is actually slightly more yellow! 😳

I tried to take a photo but it doesn't really do the colour difference justice ... attached anyway for reference (iPhone X on the left, 2nd replacement in the middle, 1st one on the right). Taken on an iPad Pro. True Tone off, Auto-Brightness off, Night Shift off, Colour Filters off.

When displaying a colour checker grid, the X is imperceptible from my calibrated BenQ photo editing monitor, whereas the two iPhone 12s are both warmer ...

So the 1st one will be going back and I'll order another one from the online Apple store and hope it's 3rd time lucky 😞

Seems people on Apples Support forum are having this issue with F17 models, so it really must be truly random.
Its always random. Every year we mess around with serial number just dying for some kind of fix.

The only fix is a white balance. This is possible in jail broken phones too by the way which makes it more aggravating

is it though? from what I remember the jailbreak solution was a color filter

Well I’ve been losing the ps5 checkout lottery, every single time. I’m like 0 for 10

Had a bundle in cart from Costco but not shipping for another 2 weeks and being a $700 bundle caused me to re evaluate

Always gotta lose some kinda of lotto

Express replacement is the phone coming into a white box and not a coming within the retail sealed box, right?

Will Apple replace it as long as I prove it’s unreasonably yellow even after 14 days? I do have Apple Care+. I’ll try waiting a few weeks if that’s the case.

Apple sends you a replacement first. You just ship your old one back

Would you guys be willing to pay $100 premium with every release for a cherry picked unit from Jony Ive’s former lab?

I would.
Other manufacturers (laptops, monitors) charge extra for "perfect panel guarantees" or dead pixel checks. I would totally be onboard with this. Saves so much hassle.

To add.... If the replacement comes and you feel it is worse than your current phone, you can instead return the replacement and keep your original phone. Simply notify Apple to notate that is what you are doing. I’ve done this numerous times within the past 10 years. In fact, I just did it today.

Exactly. This can be a problem if you are on the upgrade program like me. You really really need to make sure they fix that because the next time you upgrade, it may not register you as part of the iUP. This happened to me once and delayed my launch day iPhone several weeks.

F17 here and I have to say I am very happy with the display. With trutone off it is
bright white. Truetone on, slightly yellow. Pretty much on par with my 11 Pro as that screen was pristine. Gets super bright and the text is crystal clear. So score another positive for the F17.

Right on. Sometimes when I look at my iP12, I marvel at how bright white, crisp, and vibrant it is compared to my 11Pro. And then I check to see if True Tone is even on and to my amazement, it is. This F17 display is perfect. Perfect displays exist; they’re out there.
