I got my third replacement. My second Samsung panel.

Still suffering from very noticeable yellowing/browning towards the bottom half of the screen. I haven't seen a single MBP LCD that doesn't suffer from this.

I'm thinking of just getting a refund and going the Dell or Sony route!

Edit: this post shows the exact problem: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/9676951/

Just see how brownish the bottom portion of the screen is.

it is only slight

I can't be sure (so I'm not worried about it), but I think my glossy 17" is fine on the yellow tint test, and I definitely have no pixel problems.

So do you have any photos of the new screen? And any of the old screen to compare?

Cryer, got your PM. None of the old. Will take some of the new. But the other pics here look exactly the same as mine. The bottom was yellowy and just looked dirty. Like it was covered with dust or something. Kind of a sepia tone. Sucked. On the new screen screen the blue bars aren't visible on the bottom actually. So yes the color fades. It's more like the colors all evenly fade, and there is simply less contrast at the bottom. But it's not nearly as bad. And there is the slight magenta tint on the right. But overall it's much, much better than the first screen. Perhaps a little less vibrant color, but again, much better. And no dead pixels or light leakage or whatever. For me, really, it's good enough. Almost what I'd expect. For nearly two grand, I expect a perfect computer monitor. That is entirely reasonable. I'll post pics later.

Mine sounds similar in terms of the color fading near the bottom. I have a 17" i5.

When I open a finder window to list view and stretch it so it fills the entire screen, I see that the blue lines gradually fade out/wash out as you go down the screen, more visibly so starting at about halfway or so. Then the very last blue line is really really light (and more so near the center bottom than the sides.)

Is this how your screen appears? Looking forward to seeing the pics to compare.

so if my macbook has any of those problems i can just take it back to the apple store and theyll exchange it on the spot? i just bought my 15'' MBP i5 today, havent done the test yet

If you do the tests it will take all the fun out of enjoying your new toy! Even if everything is perfect you will think you see something wrong and be majorly pissed off!

thats a good point bobby, this is my very 1st mac too, but its so tempting to test it out

In your case, they should since you're within 14 days of your purchase.

Try opening a finder window to list view and stretch it so it fills the entire screen. Take a picture of this screen at a normal angle straight on as you would normally use it at, and upload it here. How do the blue lines compare at the top screen portion to the bottom portion? Does it gradually get washed out as you go down or are both portions identical?

Also try seeing if both white squares in this grey image here are identical to each other: https://forums.macrumors.com/posts/9906152/*

Feedback on Yellow Tint Problem

Is this scree yellowing? I have a HR Glossy. It looks a little different, but IMOP nothing to write home about. However I need some expert advice from y'all because I'm very unknowledgeable about these things.

pazelt1982, that doesn't appear to be actual photos of your screen. You need to take real photos of your screen with a digital camera, not a regular screenshot from your computer.

Here's my screen - feedback please!

So if this seems acceptable I'm fine with it. I don't want to go through the whole hassel of getting another HR Glossy CTO.

cryer - this looks a lot like yours. Don't you think this is just how these screens are? Mine is a 9CA4 btw.

If people think this is bad. What can I do. I'm within my 14 day window. Is that from when I receive it; or when I placed online order? Should I take it to a genius and have them look?

I just bought new MBP 15" i7 hires antiglare. During watching video I noticed there is something wrong with display. Bottom was brighter then top. Then i starded diging and find out this topic. I am not from us and this MBP cost me like 3400$. It is pretty annoying especially when i am watching videos. I know there is sth wrong and I am keep looking at bottom and top and can't concentrate on video :). Beside that i don't care. Should I go and try to replace it?

Pictures made in nokia N95 lol. I can take pictures by better camera if this is necessary.
