Take the phone and compare it to a device-calibrated monitor, and you'll see the iPhone 7's temperature is right where its supposed to be.

For what it's worth, my iPhone 7 is also a lot warmer when compared side-by-side with my 6S. I had to double check to make sure Night Shift wasn't turned on. I'm going to wait until Monday and if by then the display is still yellowish, I will go to the store to compare with the other iPhone 7 units on display. I totally feel your pain, though.

How yellowish are we talking, I don't think a few days will matter if it was looking like the one that was pictured in an earlier post. That one was terrible.

Mine is almost identical to my ipad mini 4 (not yellow) and whiter/less yellow than my Galaxy S7

Seems perfectly fine to me.

Just got mine today and yeah I noticed mine was slightly yellow and less bright than the 6s+ (I think)

Very noticeable side by side. If you're just looking at the 7 plus screen you're eyes might adjust and not notice. I can notice and definitely prefer the bright crisp white screen of 6s plus.

I received my iPhone 7 a few hours ago and I was thoroughly enjoying it... until I looked at it side by side with my 6S.

I can definitely confirm the iPhone 7's display is clearly more yellow. Not disgustingly yellow and oversaturated like some Android devices, but yellow.

What's more, its display seems less bright than the 6S's.

Is there any truth to that "glue" theory?
I don't remember feeling my 6S's display was too yellow when I got it. But then again, I had nothing to compare it with.

Ok so.. everyone seems to be saying the iphone 7 is less bright, so did Apple lied to us?

Thanks,
Alex

This is when Apple will tell you that they developed a "true tone" screen that changes the temperature of the screen to match the environment.

I always thought this was a BS feature on the iPad; however it did stop people from returning their device because of "yellow screens". Very clever work-around by Apple.

Apple should have listed true tone as a feature on the iPhone.

If your screen is not brighter than your 6s, then you have a faulty product. I would take it back to Apple for a replacement. Apple advertised 25% extra brightness on the new 7.

Picked up my iPhone 7 plus today - the screen is so dark (I've upgraded from the 6) and when you turn the phone off and back on the apple logo screen is like a muddy grey (hard reset also makes the screen strobe - I went back to the store and compared the models they had on display I can't say they where a huge improvement ether lol - Apple have advised me to hold on to it till they have more stock (could be 8 weeks lol) and swap for a new one. *sigh*

I fail to see how this is brighter than the 6 let alone the 6s!

I just tested this at Best Buy against my 6s Plus screen. Definitely a yellow tint to the screen, and all settings were the same. It reminds me of the Galaxy line after a while of using the phone (Note 4). Is this something Apply can fix with a software update and or replacement phone? I find it hard to believe it will just go away after a few days and have to think it is going to be an issue, especially after they are advertising it’s 25% brighter.

Lol, after I started reading similar threads about this issue I just had to hop in my car and go to BB and compare.

I even showed the Apple rep there the difference after I checked it out. His jaw dropped and not in a good way.

It's kinda hard to see in photos, but the iP7 is on the left and the iP6s is on the right (both Plus). It seems to get darker as it goes down the screen (and night-mode is off entirely). I read that sometimes it can take a few days to settle? Or should I take it back?

I'd just hate to have to go to the trouble of exchanging with stock the way it is at the moment lol.

I've gotten rid of the yellow tint!
Go to Accessibility > Display Accommodations > Color Filters.
Click 'Color Tint' then adjust *HUE*.
I found adjusting it to about 2/3 - 3/4 across made the screen look cooler without screwing up the colors.

I emailed a few tech bloggers to see If they could run with this. I did see with the se that it was due to the glue not drying completely drying and after a week it should be fine. I, again, find this hard to believe. Did anyone else try that hue setting someone mentioned above and compared it again to the 6s plus?
