how long did it take for you to notice any difference? does anybody have similar stories?

I really thought it went away but then in a completely new setting, I noticed it's still there. I'm really bummed bc I don't want to have to exchange again. Mine is more of a pinkish hue. At this point, I wouldnt mind an over all warm color in comparison to this annoying pink shaded area.

I'm going to exchange mine now.

Any thoughts?

I was afraid of that. My return window ends today and there are no appointments left at any of the stores around me. Even if I brought it back I am not sure that I would do any better than this right now.

You're crazy. That iPad is fine - and yes, you will likely get something worse.

Seriously, don't expect good advice. There are far too many variables for what you're doing. How is your camera setup, white balance, etc.? How is my monitor calibrated? It goes on..

Yellow....

Damn thats a bummer. I have to find an iPad with a newer manufacture week, i have seen that the people posting great screens have newer manufacturing dates.

I seen your post yellow about your perfect screen, where did you buy yours from? I keep going back to one of the main apple stores in toronto, Yorkdale and i keep getting older models :s

Why are you asking someone online looking at a camera shot (which can have a different white balance then you see with your eyes) how it looks.

How does it look to you in real life? Does it look good? If so then just enjoy it.

I didn't notice at first but when i went to the apple site and scrolled down, my screen was a more yellow/green on the bottom and whiter on the top. Anything i would scroll from the bottom of the screen would become significantly brighter/whiter as the content came to the top of the screen.
SO yeah DUD

I was really lucky, it hard to see in store, I was lucky to get a MBP that also had yellowing wish you the best on your next iPad.

I just wanted to tell my story about this whole yellow tint topic. My first iPad (probably the best of the bunch even though it had yellowing in top left corner while held in portrait) I returned because it was wifi only and I decided to switch to the Verizon 4g version. So I switched and it had the yellow down the left side and more noticeable at the top, then I waited a week and decided that it was unacceptable for the main part of the device (the screen) to be this way, so I returned. At Apple, I opened one, same yellow on down the left side, and then opened a second and also had yellow, so I basically settled on the one that had the least amount of "yellowing" on one side. Well, I got home and noticed that I could see the LED shining through at the top of the panel and was very distracting, not to mention the light bleed from it. So, again I trek back to the Apple store and got another one (defect repair), only checking for the LED showing anywhere and saw nothing, so I took it. This one has the terrible yellow on the top 1/3 of the panel, but I am so tired of going back and forth that if this doesn't get better in a month or two I'll go back and hopefully the situation will be better. I want to mention that I have never returned an Apple product and I've had every iPhone, an iPad 2 (with backlight bleed), various iPods, and a Macbook Pro, so I've had my fair share of quality Apple products, but this seems to be the worst QC I've encountered. I did have a look at the floor models and I can see the yellowing on most of those, although some are acceptable in my opinion, given how bad some of the ones I've encountered have been. Sorry for my rant, but this is pretty frustrating after paying close to 800 bucks...

Bought mine from walmart at midnight on the 16th. Have absolutely no problems with it other than some screen bleed at max brightness, but i never use it at that level, and if i did, don't think i'd still be able to see it.

No yellow or any other hues whatsoever on my 16GB WiFi.
tried to take pics, but didn't come out too good. Pics are grainy and show shadows (darker and lighter areas) and a little bit of pink which is not there in real life. The screen is nice and evenly lit.

For all of you that have both an iPhone and the new iPad that suffers from a tint, do the following:

1) In a dark room, use your new iPad to open a solid black image and set it to full brightness. Place it on a table.

2) Use your iPhone to take a photo of it at a 45 degree angle.

Looking at the iPad in this manner at a 45 degree angle will not show any defects, you'll just see a solid black image, but I can assure you, your iPhone will be able to capture the defect. The photo your iphone takes will show the uneven hue that you're observing on a light background.

Try it.

I'm gonna hold onto mine until around July then swap it out, such a shame apple couldn't deliver a perfect product for the masses.

wow, might be the picture but this ipad has gotta be the nicest one I've seen, looks absolutely perfect.... can you please post the manufacturing info? I'm just really curious, and did you get it replaced online?
