Update for today:

I had to work at the office today so woke up earlier than usual - 7 am. I used the phone the most today since gotten it. Was on 5G all day at the office with a 4 to 5 bars signal. Now it's midnight and left with 12% battery. Still feel like it should last longer so will consider doing a setting reset this weekend.

Also noticed some issues with the ringtone - sometimes when I get a message the phone doesn't light up and no ringtone... weird.

I've decided I am not going to reset all settings. It's too much to reset every setting again. Will re-pair the watch and start as a new backup and see if the battery drain issue will be back after that.

Took 3 days before my 13 Pro Max's battery started settling down and really shining.
how many gigs of storage have you used? it might impact indexing time after a new iOS/iOS update?
also what version of iOS are you using?

Almost 200GB. Latest iOS - 15.0.1.
Interesting. I have similar storage used (189GB) and running 15.0.1, overnight battery drained 4-5% for 2 days now. 4G+wifi on and low power mode off. background refresh off, find my iphone on. Strange, no app usage were being reported in battery graph.

I reset network settings only and enabled ad blocking on 1Blocker I had previously disabled and now battery life has jumped. Phone can last 6am to 11pm and still have 30% left after being on 5G most of the day. I’ve read about ads being battery drainers elsewhere on the forum but my battery was draining while idle with no background activity from safari.

Unpaired my Apple Watch Series 4 and so far I’m getting like insane battery life. I’m still in my 90% plus after 5 hours of being unplugged since this morning.
There is deffo something up with Apple Watch use with the iPhone 13 Pros , buggy Bluetooth or Wi-Fi causing excessive drain.

So did you leave the watch unpaired, or pair it again? I've seen a few reports of watch-related power drain... I also have S3 Watch plus 13 Pro.

Not seeing any watch problems with my wife’s iPhone or my iPhone (13 Pro Max with S6 watches). Our standby times are pretty impressive. I’m (not scientific) seeing 30-40% better battery life with my 13 Pro Max than I saw with my 12 Pro Max. I’m charging significantly less.

I totally unpaired it and not using it at all today. I have got a Series 7 on order.

Either there is a bug with Watch OS 8 or something is a miss with certain Apple Watch paired with the iPhone

I unpaired and re-paired but set it up as a new watch. So far, the battery of the 13 pro doesn't seem to have the draining problem like before, but it also doesn't last as long as some other people experienced.

I have Apple Watch 3 and the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I usually charge it when I go to bed and when I check the battery at that time it is around 94%. Right now at 6:00 pm it is still at 100%. I haven't used it much today but still .. that is kind of amazing. When I first got it, the battery life was terrible and I turned off some of the apps that were running in the background. I think it is just a matter of tweaking .....

Ended the day with 66% battery on my iPhone. Usually it would be down to 30% approx. Will monitor it without the watch tomorrow as i will be working and hence more iPhone usage. Part of me thinks it’s Apples planned obsolescence happening on the older Apple watches. Anyone else with a Series 6 comment on their usage ?

YMMV.

Well since 7AM this morning and it is now almost 1PM here in the UK, been on the phones loads and without the watch im on 88% !

Usually I was seeing 70-75% when I had the watch paired at this sort of usage. I might pair the watch this evening and see what kinda usage I get tomorrow with watch on.

iOS 15.0.2 is released today. I charged my phone while upgrading so the usage today can't be referenced. Will observe tomorrow and see how it goes.

Linked the Watch back up and I’m already down to 78% already with minimal , 40 mins screen on time. This Watch is draining my iPhone battery somehow.

Do you have large playlists syncing to your watch? I noticed it took hours and hours and hours to sync a 6gb playlist to my watch the first day. I usually leave my phone plugged in the first 24 hours of ownership to help push these initial syncs along. It would spin despite not being on charge. So I left my watch on the charger next to my phone for a handful of hours the first day.

No sir. I dont use Apple Music to sync any music over. Also I have checked that no Spotify tracks are downloading to the phone either.

Did you repair the watch with a backup or starting as a new device? I started it as a new device and the battery draining issue is gone.
