Here's another screenshot of a typical day. An hour of that SoT was between 9-10pm.
So my phone just chews through battery at a pretty constant rate without much going on.

It’s unfortunate unpairing the watch did not solve the issue for you. Here’s what I recommend:

download and use this app to observe what apps are accessing logs and network during the day and night:

follow the instruction and give it a full 24 hours. You should be able to narrow down the apps this way. Good luck.

Today's usage:

The longest screen on time ever for me. Same daily routine and now at midnight the phone has 20% battery left. I think 7 hours of screen on time is the limit and I am ok with it.

Switch your pro for pro max and you can spend longer time on TikTok on every charge

My main post covered the context. Here’s today’s usage:

start the day at 8 am and now its 10:30 pm. 38% battery left.
So last night I unpaired my S4 AW and setup as new. Today's iPhone 13 Pro battery hasn't really improved. About 3.5 hrs "screen on" and 1.75h "screen off". I had previously set up from 11 Pro and did IPSW update to 15.0.1.

What's the consensus on the next best step to improve battery performance: Backup/Restore iPhone? (icloud or Mac?) I'm going on a trip in a few days an don't have time/patience to set up as new. If 15.1 drops by Tuesday night, I will do IPSW update for that.

Unpair with the watch

Exchanged my 13 Pro for a 13 PM after not being impressed with battery endurance. I miss the compactness but wow… the battery refuses to drain. Incredible

these two videos may help save your battery usage. Often if you have a battery drain it is a background task sucking the battery.

@tonypg Is your iPhone doing optimized charging yet? Is it giving you any recommendations on the Battery page? Mine suggested brightness was high, so I looked ad auto-dimming setting. Was on, but when I toggled it, the screen dimmed a bit. Now 2 weeks in battery “seems” better. On 15.0.2, but just installed 15.1 RC.

iOS 15 battery amazing, .0.1 still excellent, 0.2 gone right down the drain

obviously a buggy update

this on a 13 pro max

It took about 2 weeks for the optimized charging to kick in. I did get a recommendation about the screen being too bright but I refuse to turn off auto brightness. It's a feature to save us effort to adjust the brightness manually, and I am not going to turn it off just to save a bit of battery.

My optimised charging kicked in after day 3 of having phone , it skipped a day or two after it did the update to 15.0.1 and 15.0.2 though. But generally I have the same charging routine. Just plug in to charge before I go to sleep usually just before midnight.

15.0.2 was immediately noticeably worse for me and nothing fixed it. I unpaired my S6 watch and it was no different. It seemed to be allowing apps to refresh in the background even if I specifically switched them off. 15.1 is much better so far, back to 56% remaining at 12 hours off the charger.

I’m seeing the same standby drain issues on my 13 Pro Max. Got it launch day. Battery has been consistently worse than the 12 Pro Max I traded in, and the phone gets hot when doing very little and dims the screen outside. Nearly all apps have background refresh turned off.
The battery stats show no obvious culprit. The numbers reflect the apps I use with screen on and off time, but standby drain periods show virtually no usage. I am using a watch with mask unlock. Will try re-pairing the watch.
After struggling with standby drain a full week after setting up my 13 Pro Max, I decided to restore from an iCloud backup. I had originally transferred directly from my 12 Pro Max. It immediately fixed the issue. I have had great battery since.
