Lookit, either she believes that you were ill or not. What do you think she needs, a doctor's note? If she doesn't believe you were too ill to see her, she has problems about control that you don't even want to know about. If she infers this as being a dis to her personally, you are better finding this out now. It hurts, but not nearly as much as being with a self-absorbed twit.

On the other hand, she may need time to realize that your cancelling has nothing to do with her, and she'll deal with it when she's ready.
Take a breather, try posting more on MR, and you don't need to pack up for Africa just yet. :p

Thank you Legolamb. That is the most thought out and deep post I've read today. (I'm being 100% serious)
I guess what I am most afraid of is that she didn't get the message. Though she is sick today (read it on her FaceBook), so that gives me hope that maybe she just hasn't felt up to talking to anyone.
Well, anyway. I'l try using my sense of humor around MacRumors for the next 30 minutes, then I'm gonna watch some anime I just downloaded off iTunes. That should take my mind off this for at least the rest of the day.

Mr Ghall this is the point in your life that you need to start thinking for yourself. The point I was so blatantly making was if you ask for advice from strangers you will get strange advice.:p

Contact her don't act like a spoilt brat. Tell her you missed going on the date with her (not that you missed her, not yet anyway). And organise a new time and place. Remember the one rule of first dates. Ice-Cream is here to save that day. ;) Compendere.

Sounds good to me.

What if she's on a diet? :D (she is by the way, she mentioned it to me)

Hmmm......I don't know of any places that sell frozen yogurt (probably because I have never looked  )

TCBY

I probably wouldn't take her to TCBY. Same class as Cinnabon or Sbarro's.

Have you tried calling her at all? I think that e-mail, FaceBook, MySpace, AIM, MIM, YIM, KIM (OK, KIM isn't a real one) isn't always good for relationships because a lot can go wrong, and you can read into it too much on the speediness of the reply.

When you got sick, did you leave her a message before or after the hour you were supposed to meet her? And did you actually call her and leave her a message in voice mail or with someone at her house, or did you send her an email/sms? I hope it's the first for both questions, because if it's the second I think you're in trouble. It's very impersonal to just text somebody for something like this... It'd be OK if you knew each other for a while, but not when you're just starting the relationship (terrible first impression, don't you think?). And if you left her a message afterwards... much worse; no matter the reason, nobody likes to be left standing like that (hopefully she'll believe your reasons).
Anyway, I think you should call her. No email or SMS, but call her and apologize if you did the text thing.

I hope it all works out for you; all this makes me remember when I was getting to know my girlfriend :) .

I did tell her several hours before we were supposed to meet. I texted her, left a message on her cell phone, and sent her a message through FaceBook. I'm gonna call her tomorrow. I was going to call he tonight, but I thought it would be too soon.

Ouch, thats just hard luck. Just play it cool, and like others had said, dont try and sound needy.

Also, when you do meet, dont ask about everything all at once. save some questions for other dates, otherwise you wont have much to talk about :p

I wish you all the best though. Just send her a text asking how she is. say sorry again about not being able to make it and try and reschedule asap.

That sounds OK. If she still showed up, it wasn't your fault; after all, that's why she gave you her cell number in the first place, and it's not your fault if she didn't pick up. I still think you should've talked to her today, but oh well... Hopefully everything will go ok tomorrow.

I sort of disagree. I agree that you shouldn't start bombarding her with questions without taking the time to hear the answers and reply; but trust me, if she's the right one for you, there'll be plenty to talk about for many dates to come. Just try to relax (easier said than done I'm afraid; especially at the beginning), be yourself, and let the conversation flow (but pay attention to what she says! :D ). If it doesn't work out and you guys run out of things to say... well, it's better to find out now than later  ... But hopefully that won't happen.

I agree that you should reschedule ASAP, but don't do it by sms or email; use the phone, or IM in the worse case. Also, be direct on that one; don't ask her "when can you meet me again?"; instead, propose the date yourself (she can change it if she needs, but it'll show her you're really interested).

I wish you the best of lucks, and do tell us how it went :) .

Yay!!!!

I feel so much better now. She finally got back to me, and she apologized for taking so long, since she was busy, and got a nasty cold. She's like: " we need to reschedule mister" :) Just thought you guys would like to hear some good news coming from my keyboard for once. :p
