Is the V3 actually the Executive case or is this just an updated version from V2? Will there be the Executive and non-Executive version with the flap still made? Or are they dropping the old case to produce the Executive? Thanks.

Just curious about one thing on the new case that's coming from Yoobao- What holds the left side of the case in place under the iPad when the cover is folded back under it? It has clips in the photos on the top and bottom left corners, but those can't be attached tightly to the iPad, or it couldn't adjust up and down in landscape mode like it shows. I wouldn't like the left edge of the cover flopping up and down every time it's folded back under the iPad. Maybe DPLXY can shed some light on this.

i do not have the unit yet
but a video review is coming up soon

I actually prefer the V2 one that I have over this one. I like the magnets, and everything fits snug. Who knows though, could be cool.

I think they should just come out with a case identical to the V2 in every way but without the magnets and have the bezel just half way exposed/covered. Done.

I'm not sure I trust the longevity of the contact points on the executive case. Especially when two contacts are going to be fastened&unfastened over time to get into that "multiple-incline positions" mode.

Will the next shipment of V2s have magnets? If so has anyone tried to remove them via slight incisions, pull-out and restitching?

Agreed. V2 without magnets FTW.

I do like the V3. How do I preorder and what will the leather one cost?

Looking at V2 again, I think I would personally prefer that style, combined with the V3 system of holding the iPad in place.

I like that V3 doesn't cover up the bezel, but I'm not really crazy about the method it uses for propping the iPad up in the 3 landscape positions.

Just got the one I purchased from dplxy (super fast shipping by the way!) but I'm not a huge fan of the case. It adds a little too much bulk for me. Think I'm going to stick to my Apple case for now. If anyones wants to purchase it, I'll take $30 shipped. I only used it 15 minutes and now it's back in the box like new.

Still looking to sell this. Price lowered to $30 shipped. PM me if interested.

I really like almost everything about the V2 Yoobao case that I bought from DPLXY. I have the brown, which I like, and I like the magnets, which I thought I might not. It's a really nice-looking case. and I've had compliments on it. I do wish the iPad fit a little more snugly, and that the case was a little thinner. I like the thinness of the new V3 case, and the way it holds the iPad should be snug and tight. I'll probably buy one when they're available, especially if it comes in brown.

Hi dplxy,

Do you know when will the next shipment for v2, brown and black comes in? I am traveling mid July and would like to get one for my ipad.

By the way, I am a fan of Beyond, that video on your blog is awsome.

The Version 2 with the flap is available in the UK now. Check out the eBay pages:

The Brown case is available here.

The Black case is available here.

What's the general deal with this case, then?

I love the functionality of the Apple case, but HATE the material and the way it picks up dust. I clean the Apple case regularly and it doesn't seem to make much difference..

This looks like one of the first cases to provide Apples functionality with a nice material.. and one that doesn't attract every last bit of dust in any given room. That said, this should be awesome.. right?

Worth buying?

I should be getting a test unit very soon,
i want to make sure there are no surprises.
once the unit is tested out, i will get the case here ASAP.

price should be the same as the yoobao V2 case, 40 USD give or take.

Has the V3 test unit arrived?

I have the V2 case in brown, and really like it. I also have the Apple case. As much as I like the Apple case, I have replaced it with the Yoobao case. I like the look, feel, and smell of the leather, and it's actually more functional than the Apple case because it's easier to get the top cover in the clip on the back, and it also stands up much better in landscape. I would say that it's absolutely worth buying. I haven't seen another iPad folio case that's reasonably priced that matches it in looks and function.

OK. 20+ pages of people's impressions so far in this thread and you haven't read enough to help you make up your mind? If there's some aspect that you haven't seen discussed that would help you make up your mind, perhaps you might ask a more specific question?
