I don't know you guys what smell are you referring.. If your nose stick with the case definitely you can smell it but not that bad. If you are typing, it doesn't smell at all.. It doesn't even stick on your hands (the smell)

Does anybody have any sleeve suggestions to be used IN ADDITION to the Yoobao? I travel alot and feel better having an additional sleeve to protect my iPad.

The sleeve would remain in my bag, and I would just slip the iPad with Yoobao in and out when I have to go through security, etc.

I found these interesting knit cases (like iPod socks, but much cheaper), but I would prefer neoprene...

I might just order a few of these because they are so cheap...almost disposable...

But, aside from that, has anybody had any experience in using a neoprene sleeve that fits a Yoobao-encased iPad?

If you don't have those slim yoobao cases then no sleeve I know will fit it.
Otherwise I would go with the incase sleeve or even try out the stm jacket. I just got in for review the timbuk2 iPad (don't know what to call it), but I have not tested it out yet.

Thanks, Schneider. My v.4 Magic Case is on its way, I will definitely check out the incase sleeve and the stm jacket.

See my post a few pages back.

The case is slim enough that I can leave my iPad in it and still fit it in my Incase Neoprene Sleeve

Could somebody that has a V3 please comment on the smell issue (if there is an issue). Does it smell of of the box, if so how long? Looks like a good case, but kevikevdottcom keeps talking about the smell and that makes me worried (since he's the one selling them)...

I just took a good snort of mine. There's no smell. Had it for over a week. Never noticed any unusual smell, even right out of the box.

I have the Timbuk2 freestyle (for iPad) and my husband has the Timbuk2 classic messenger bag xs (net book or iPad size). They are both a match made in heaven with the yoobao version 2 and magic case. There is ample room to accommodate an iPad in a folio style case while still keeping the iPad in it's own separate and small compartment. You will give it a favorable review I am sure.

No smell on my Magic Case either. Despite all of Kevin's comments about having a stack of these he can't sell (suggestion: drop your price - it's higher than dplxy who has been extremely helpful/great to deal with) claiming that they smell, it's obvious that he's trying to push his Chinao cases.

I agree. Not a good way to appear like a nice seller.

Indeed.

Thanks, man. Somehow I missed your post. I appreciate your response and am going to check out the Incase Neoprene sleeve.

how is it odd? you are really relying on the tabs from keeping your ipad from sliding out and on the floor, I would rather have my ipad tucked in around a material (all the way around) instead of on a few tabs, what is the material made out of? Plastic? Plastic bends and snaps off.

I would wait for the horror stories before I purchase that version.

It's "odd" (admittedly not the best choice of words) because those clips are more substantial than the clips on other folio cases... cases which have been proven to be secure, even months later.

But if someone hasn't been following the iPad case scene I can understand why there would be concern.

well considering the "ipad scene" is still quite new, I just received one this weekend and I want to have the best protection without looking like a military device. This looks attractive and I have read the previous posts about it , however, it still seems like OVER TIME there will be problems with this particular type of cover.

Similar style covers have been made for other devices for years, this isn't anything revolutionary. I have some eBay cheapie on a first gen iPhone that hasn't fallen out in 2 years of use, and a similar setup for my Kindle that hasn't loosened at all in 18 months. I also have the MacAlly Bookstand, and for all its other faults, the corners have not given me any issue. Properly made and fitted, cases with this style of holder are no more prone to unexpectedly releasing your device, and in my opinion, they're a thousand times better looking than ones that cover the bezel with leather or fake leather.

Interesting, i wish there were a place I could look at them before buying instead of having one or two people to buy them from.

My last gen yoobao case is better in material quality but not in finish... The leader is not properly shaped arround iPad where lower part is little sticking out compared to top part. Probably it's the limit of being a Chinese brand...

Received my yoobao today and my first impressions are really mixed. First of all, it feels really solid, the ipad is well fixed into place. But there are some things that still bothers me:

- I have a hard time closing the case. I think it should go naturally, without much effort...

- the finishing details could be much better

- the inside looks like it could get worn off in time

- it's heavy

I'm thinking of refunding it

It gets easier to close after a while. Personally, I prefer that the iPad is held so tightly.
