Following the debut of the iPhone 17, ‌iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro, and ‌iPhone 17 Pro‌ Max, Apple has started letting customers prepare for pre-orders, which are set to begin on Friday, September 12 at 5:00 a.m. Pacific Time or 8:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

If you plan to buy an ‌iPhone 17‌, you can use the Apple Store app or Apple's website to choose a preferred phone, confirm your status with your carrier, add accessories, choose an AppleCare+ plan, and add a preferred payment method ahead of when pre-orders go live. Payment in full and other payment options are supported.

iPhone Upgrade Program members are able to choose their preferred ‌iPhone 17‌ model and complete pre-approval steps that include checking upgrade eligibility, securing credit lines, and confirming shipping details.

Apple has offered a "Get Ready" feature for several years now, providing customers with a streamlined way to pre-order their iPhones with the tap of a button.

Pricing on the ‌iPhone 17‌ starts at $799, while the ‌iPhone Air is priced at $999. The ‌iPhone 17 Pro‌ is available starting at $1,099, and the ‌iPhone 17 Pro‌ Max is available starting at $1,199.

Following the September 12 pre-orders, the ‌iPhone 17‌ models will launch on Friday, September 19.

I’m quite honestly just torn between all of the excellent new iPhone variants. I can see iPhone 17 Pro as being the best middle ground, but I could make a case for myself wanting iPhone 17 Pro Max or potentially having a love affair with iPhone Air as I last did with iPhone 13 mini.

I did this almost 8 hours ago when I first got the email from Apple! Pre-preordered an iPhone 17 Pro 256GB in Cosmic Orange!

Hope the seeming popularity of this orange prompts Apple to deliver more vibrant colors for the iPhone Pro in the future! I really want to see a nice vibrant emerald green. For now this Cosmic Orange will pair really well the my Apple Watch Ultra 2 orange ocean band.

Thinking about going caseless. I try it every year but end up buying something within a week. With the durability enhancements, I might try it this time, although I just got used to having a case with a kickstand! But this thing comes with Apple Care and I've never once used it.

Every iPhone got heavier again.

This is not acceptable at all and is a no go.

Even the self-proclaimed iPhone Air has almost the same weight as iPhone 16 and is only 2mm thinner, which is an absolute no go for a product called "Air".

No Mini.

No black Pro.

Ugliest Pro ever without true redesign since iPhone 11.

No AI Siri.

Apple stocks going down.

Good bye Apple after 22 years of endless iPhones, iPods, MacBooks Pro, iPads, Watches, TVs, iMacs, HomePods etc.

does it give you a guarantee for the shipping date and reception?

i dont understand how it works since it seeems to already take a print for 1300 dollars ...

for the first time ever I’m doing carrier financing lol and can’t do the “Get Ready” option because of it and just have to wait until preorders began at 8am. no biggie.

$1100 in credits for trading in my 16PM just makes sense.

17PM Silver 512GB here I come!

First time financing through my carrier as opposed to the Apple Card. Right now it says I’ll be notified IF EIP becomes available before pre-order so I can “get ready”. Is that always the case or will I actually have to wait until pre-order goes live?

I used to go back and forth on case versus no case, but I have been totally caseless since the 14PM.

the phones just look and feel too good. I’m also not clumsy and get AppleCare so it’s a no-brainer.

I can’t imagine wearing a case again. maybe a glass screen protector, but that’s it.

does it make a difference as far as shipping and receiving the device on day 1?

Excited to order new iPhone. Planning on getting the 17 Pro Max in Orange. Might even get the base model as a backup. My mum is also planning to get the base 17 in either 'Sage' or 'Mist Blue'. Sure about the orange color but for the base model, won't be pre-ordering. Will go to a store on launch day snd see the colors before deciding.

anyone please explain to me how it works I dont get it at all lol
Essentially you fill in all your order and payment details etc now so on Friday you can just log in and hit "Confirm" on that order. They've done this for a few years now, and it means if you are going down the trade in or finance route you can get those approved up front so you don't have to try and enter all that information while the Apple web site is creaking under the strain.

Basically, you can make your phone selections now and breeze through the checkout process and increase your chances of getting it day 1. If you don’t “get ready” you’ll have to do the whole selection process from the beginning which may or may not guarantee you day 1 depending on how long you take to submit your order.
