does it give you a guarantee for the shipping date and reception?

i dont understand how it works since it seeems to already take a print for 1300 dollars ...
My personal experience with "pre-order" has always been a challenge. (I'm being kind). I'm going with a white iPhone Air. Pre-ordered. If history repeats itself, the pre-order wont work and I'll have to start from scratch. Because of this, I really don't have an answer for your question. I would assume it does secure a "better" date, but for a high demand color/phone...maybe not for day one availability.

For the first time since the Iphone3G I am not getting an upgrade - Apple is doomed
People have said this after every single launch after the X in 2017. Also, these upgrades are not for people who bought an iPhone last year. Why would you even buy a new iphone every single year? These "incremental" upgrades are in fact huge upgrades to normal people who are upgrading their phone after 4 years. I went from an iPhone X to iPhone 15 pro. I didnt care that the 15 was only incremental to the 14. I cared that it was a massive upgrade over my X.

Is the Dynamic Island thinner on the Pro models as was rumored?
I doubt it. With how they were scraping the bottom of the barrel to showcase "amazing new features" during the presentation, a smaller Dynamic Island definitely would've been mentioned.

it didn’t for me, it asked me to choose how I would pay, eg one off payment and which payment method I will use, however it does not take payment.
It’s just saved so on Friday everything is configured ready to confirm.
Weird, mine literally redirected me to my bank website to approve a 999£ payment...

I’ll keep mine iPhone Pro 15 in gorgeous blue for one year longer.
Same here. The air is tempting but I don’t feel like it’s worth spending $1000+ for incremental upgrade. I’ll keep my 15 pro max for one more year.

Also, when the hell are we getting a beautiful emerald green iPhone? That’s my favorite color.

Most likely it’s approving a hold on your card, but they’ll only finalise the payment when you confirm preorder.

I cant be 100% though, but presume it’s also to lighten their server load on Friday due to less tasks needing to be done because they’ve been spread out over the week.

This is such a correct and pragmatic answer. Be careful, SOME people don't like pragmatism in tech spaces sometimes.

Since Apple is to busy to help...... Does anyone know if i will be able to change the shipping address to my work on pre-order day. During the save process it did not ask for my shipping address so i assume its using my billing address

Looking for a new phone for my son who is in College. He still carries a 11 Pro Mx but battery is gone. Although the new Pro looks a serious upgrade with a much Bete camera, I am almost sold on the new 17 which looks the best option as I doubt he will car much about the better camera. The 17 at $799 seems like the best option and it is a very solid phone when compared side by side with the new Pro.

No they're not

This is just an "S' year if you will for the iPhones

I think this year is a bigger one for the products that are supplements to it in the Apple Watch as well as the new AirPods Pro

It's the ol tick/tock cycle
AirPods huge improvement.

Apple watch nothing has changed except for how they calculate battery life. They added 6 hours of sleep tracking to their calculation, which uses like 2% on the Series 10, and now they're calling it 24 hour battery life.

thank you guys

now all I need to figure is whether they count today as the payment date, or if its on 19th

and whether i can say "no trade-in", and simply go in store after I receive my new phone, and do the trade-in on site. is that possible in europe? @newyorksole @DaveMcM76
idk about Europe but in USA they charge you when the product ships. you can say no trade in USA too and do it in store. I do it often.

First time financing through my carrier as opposed to the Apple Card. Right now it says I’ll be notified IF EIP becomes available before pre-order so I can “get ready”. Is that always the case or will I actually have to wait until pre-order goes live?
Same here. the $1100 from T-mo makes more sense but it sucks they don't have that ability to get ready for preorder using those carrier options. *sigh* guess we'll have to hope on Friday that it goes off without a hitch

In the Apple Store app, you can get the details of your pre-pre order. In the footnotes, it has "Delivery and Pickup: You'll be able to review delivery and pickup details before you complete your order."

What do you mean? 1,099 * 1.17 (exchange) * 1.22 (VAT) = ~$1568. Maybe I'm not understanding your question.
$1099 = EUR 939
EUR 939 x 1,22 VAT = EUR 1145
Italy's price = EUR 1339 (about $1.565)
From US starting price to final EU country price there's a 42% gap. With a weak dollar. Imagine a strong dollar.
Just a "feeling" this gap is larger today than it was before.
My guess is that Apple is spreading tariffs cost everywhere except for its main market, USA
