Weak dollar + Tariffs = let's raise prices in Europe, who cares.
iPhone 17 Pro 256 gb 1.099 $ US, 1.565,66 $ in Italy (at present exchange rates).
That's a 42% price difference. Ok VAT, but what else?

Not on mine. Battery life lasts all day already.

Yes. And within 2 years you're at 80% battery health. Sure not an issue if you buy a new phone every 1 or 2 years. But it's not sustainable. At all.

A phone's battery should last 2 or 3 days at a minimum if you ask me. Honestly I would love to see a 4 day battery life. With that a battery can last 8 years.

I agree. I was going to maybe get an upgrade from my 15 Pro but at that rates and with the mediocre upgrades I am waiting another year.

Still no Apple Intelligence for the EU — I think that means most of Europe will just say no thanks.

Even on desktop, I have to set my system language to English just to open Image Playground. The app won’t even start if the system language isn’t English. Why not just say it only accepts English prompts?

I feel like Apple is no longer an EU brand.

Struggling to find a case that goes with Orange phone, what are people going for? I find the orange silicon case is a bit overkill, and the bright colours tend to get dirty pretty quickly. Techwoven I'm not sure I really trust after the Finewoven debacle, and the Sienna colour looks a bit drab...Any other recommendations?

I set this up for myself as well since I'll be upgrading this time from the iPhone 15. This week I'll go with the iPhone 17 Pro in Cosmic Orange and the Silicon case in orange as well. Also, I ordered the AirPods Pro 3.

I would skip but promised my 15 pro + pro 2 (lighting) as gift. Promise is a promise especially for lil kid. This time I will skip pro and go with basic 17 + pro 3.

I did this almost 8 hours ago when I first got the email from Apple! Pre-preordered an iPhone 17 Pro 256GB in Cosmic Orange!

Hope the seeming popularity of this orange prompts Apple to deliver more vibrant colors for the iPhone Pro in the future! I really want to see a nice vibrant emerald green. For now this Cosmic Orange will pair really well the my Apple Watch Ultra 2 orange ocean band.

Thinking about going caseless. I try it every year but end up buying something within a week. With the durability enhancements, I might try it this time, although I just got used to having a case with a kickstand! But this thing comes with Apple Care and I've never once used it.
I’ve had every iPhone since the iPhone 3G, and only used a case on one very slippery model years ago. In all seventeen years, I’ve dropped and cracked the screen once. I just can’t do cases.

I did start using a MagSafe grip/stand last year, which is great. I use it about half the time, but it’s super comfortable and extremely adjustable as a stand. It works so well that several of my friends and family have ended up buying it too.

I suggest if you do try to go caseless that you find a grip/stand that you can work with, that might help the transition.

Preselected the orange 17 Pro, and went through the re-pre-approval process with Citizen’s Bank. I’m super excited for the bright color.

Third year in a row I’m staying with the same size: 512gb. I thought for sure I’d have to move up, because I don’t really delete anything, or offload pics/videos, but I still have over 120gb free on this phone.

Excited to read this post which really helped me prepare to get ready to pre-order. I only wish I had pre-prepared to prepare me for this post. Hoping for a heads-up next year.

Considered it momentarily until I came to my senses and realised all the models have some serious compromises this year.

What do you mean? 1,099 * 1.17 (exchange) * 1.22 (VAT) = ~$1568. Maybe I'm not understanding your question.

On the UK website it's asking me to actually pay the amount, is this normal?
it didn’t for me, it asked me to choose how I would pay, eg one off payment and which payment method I will use, however it does not take payment.
It’s just saved so on Friday everything is configured ready to confirm.
