I hope no one pre-orders this year. Apple needs a good kick in the ass to get back to innovating.
This year brought some very good upgrades. Not sure what you’re expecting really

Innovation is the most overrated word in tech. Aside from foldables and Chinese phones level camera hardware there’s not much else to add

Even the self-proclaimed iPhone Air has almost the same weight as iPhone 16 and is only 2mm thinner, which is an absolute no go for a product called "Air".
You left out that the Air has a bigger screen. Why compare its weight to a significantly smaller phone, and expect it to be significantly lighter still? If you extrapolate the weight of the 16/16Plus to the size of the 6.5" Air, a normal iPhone should be about 189 g. The Air is then about a 13% reduction of weight. If anyone is trying to reduce weight, 13% is very significant.
Of course if you don't want the larger screen, then this advantage is moot and the Air is not for you.

Also 2mm seems like a huge difference for the thickness of a phone to me. I personally challenge you to try one in your hands and still say it's not significantly thinner. I plan to do the same.

If you want to simply do a trade-in and aren't a part of the iPhone Update Program, you can trade-in at anytime for money off a purchase right then and there, or get a gift card for the value of the trade-in.
for money off a purchase in which timeframe is my question.like how many days after a purchase can you go in store to trade in and get money off a purchase ? sorry if you answered it already, i'm not a native

i'm also wondering if the policies are different between countries, because when I called apple assistance, they told me it wasnt possible

for context, i'm talking about doing a trade in after having received the phone from an online purchase

I was speaking from a U.S. perspective. If you are outside the U.S, I will leave it to someone else to advise you.

@MacRumors Is this in the US or all countries?

Please specify in your article. It seems like US only.
From what I've seen, it looks like Pre Pre Orders ("Get Ready") are only available in:

USA
Canada

UK
Germany
France

Japan

Other countries are only able to "View Pricing" and potentially save an item to their favorites, although this isn't the same since it doesn't save the payment method (and potentially pre-authorize it), trade-in selection, AppleCare selection, etc.

Apparently you need to choose one of the 4 major carriers to get 2-year financing on a new phone using the Apple Card. That changed in 2023 - I just found out today.

I was wondering when getting ready I’m upgrading a line on a family plan and it shows the price for an individual plan, is there anyway to see the family line price or does it just show individual price now and change when I get the phone?

Yes. And within 2 years you're at 80% battery health. Sure not an issue if you buy a new phone every 1 or 2 years. But it's not sustainable. At all.

A phone's battery should last 2 or 3 days at a minimum if you ask me. Honestly I would love to see a 4 day battery life. With that a battery can last 8 years.
Oh you are right, I do change phones every once or two years. I would imagine battery would be awful after a few years.
