When your buddies say look at those DD's and you think dual density!
Been there.

Well, which smartphone was it?
docomo PRO series SH-04A

I don't have an iPhone yet. Still evaluating alternatives. :)

That doesn't just mark you out as a geek. That marks you old as an OLD geek.
Hey hey. Be kind.

The first thing you do in the morning is get out of bed and check MacRumors for any new posts.
Isn't that normal? :p

or you check for new posts before you even think of getting out of bed...
I read MacRumors before I go to sleep
Or when you make night time visit to the bathroom.

Your wife/mom/girlfriend asks you to empty the trash and you immediately reach for the mouse.
Snort! :D

I read MacRumors before I go to sleep

I'm always checking Macrumors throughout the day, does that count? :D

You look pretty attractive to me!

Anyways when you search for very old threads on when the first powerbooks were released on MR just to see how excited people were!

Aww, thanks. :)

Just recently I've been reading the threads of when the original iPod came out (man, that was a lot of whining).

I also like to watch old keynotes (introduction of the Macintosh, iPod, iMac, iPhone...).

When using your web browser knowing which first letter you need to type in and how many times you need to press the down arrow and then enter to get to whichever part of MR you like, for instance: Type "C" press down arrow once hit enter.

You type faster without looking

You go to bestbuy or any other electronics store and get someone to buy a mac

You go to bestbuy or any other electronics store and customize everything on their mac the way you like it so you can be more productive... Then realize you are leaving in 2 minutes anyway.

I drive a car with an Apple sticker on it
I think Apple products are the most sexiest things I have ever seen
I am glad when my old router bit the dust, and even happier that the new one allows me to surf the net faster
My Mac is off limits for anyone to touch
I check my iPod Touch for e mail, and new posts from MacRumors befor I get out of bed
I read MacRumors before I go to sleep
I never throw away, or sell old iPods
I buy fun accessories for my computers and iPods
I carry my iPod everywhere, unless I travel far, then I take the MacBook, and the iPod with me
I want more computers for the sake of having more computers.
I have two old PC's gathering dust in storage, I do plan on fixing them, just not ambitious enough I guess
I take my iPod Touch into the bathroom for ultimate restroom reading, (I promise there won't be any "iPod in the Toilet" threads from me)
My iPod Touch can do anything...well almost, I love it!

I am such a geek :eek::eek:

No way! Me too!! ;)

I do the same exact thing.

Even when I'm at school, everytime I get on a computer I check MacRumors.

I do it on my iPhone... It's always open on my iPhone... But I hide it, I can't let everyone I'm an intense mac fanboy (kinda)

You know you're a geek when...

...you keep EVERY single box, for every computer, monitor, accessory, even USB cables, and you have boxes for all the hard drives you bought!

When your neighbor comes home with a computer and you already know all the specs for it.

When you look for spell checking in a handwritten paper. Not sure it qualifies as being a "geek" though :D

You know your a Geek When

You have had a very long, hard day @ work and all you want to do is go home and relax (surf the web).

When you have this as your avatar :D

A girl becomes more attractive when she pulls out a mb in class...

I know right? Or if she reads Mac Rumors...
  1. All of my friends are moving around town this summer and for some reason none of them know how to set up their own wireless internet so I'm going to be setting up a few networks when i get back from vacation.
  2. My first real geek moment was when I configured my Airport Express to extend my AEBS network, currently the express handles all the g traffic and the AEBS does all the n. There is no reason for any of this.
  3. When I wake up I grab my iPod and check the stock market, my horoscope, my email, Mac Rumors, and my portfolio on VSM lite.
  4. I ordered my MBP the week the unibody's came out.
  5. I have saved any cables that came with anything I have so I have about a dozen mini USBs at any given time among others.

@ Slasherduff: I do all of that too;)
@ anjinhamarota: I was just watching the intros for the alu iMacs, Mac Pros, and about a dozen other products the other day on youtube. I love it when Steve refers to computers as "screamers" when they have a 633MHz clock cycle.

edit- When you name your "Macintosh HD" Jarvis, and try to be like Tony Stark in any way shape or form. (Been there done that)

i just did that based on this very comment.. i then renamed my linux partition (which im trying to install just cos im bored) Suse! geddit??

lol

you know your a geek when you know more than 20 or so shortcuts off by hand.

You also are a geek if you like to control your macmini by remote screen sharing.. did that when my girlfriend was in my room, i was in the kitchen. movie blasting on maximium volume! goood times ;-)

Expose. I try to use it all the time on pcs to show the desktop in one corner and another corner for show all windows. Drives me crazy when it doesn't work and I always forget why it isn't working for 1/2 a second.

When someone's scratching your back and you say "scroll up just a bit."

...you keep EVERY single box, for every computer, monitor, accessory, even USB cables, and you have boxes for all the hard drives you bought!
I only keep the nice ones. Mostly I can't see hanging on to stuff like that and playing the brand-centric consumerist stooge those ad agencies think I am.
