Not by Such a Generational leap as being talked about. A whole new Body design never happened Year to year period.
Confused by this statement

So you're mad that the next iPhone will be amazing, but if it were subtle changes you'd be fine?
Wtf

I was outraged by the price of the 7, in fact I didn't buy it because the price jump in the UK was £200. We pay £1000 for iPhones here which is nearly £200 more than you guys for exactly the same product. I know a few people who skipped it due to the increase, Apple is cashing in. You wait until you are paying $1200 for the iPhone, you'll be on par.

You only have your currency/economy to blame for that increase.
The British pound took a huge dip so obviously manufacturers have to raise prices in order not to eat the loss of the exchange rate drop.

If the rumour I saw somewhere is true about there not being a possibly being 256gb model is true then there would be a high resale value.

Although that rumour seems far fetched.

True but very few manufacturers have increased their prices in terms of electronics the way Apple have, yet. My iPhone contract went up £200 from the previous year and I was forced to consider an older, cheaper device out of principle. If I had bought a Samsung S7 it was the same price as its predecessor yet comes from the same country as the iPhone. I think Brexit gave certain companies the incentive/excuse to raise prices and I'm not standing up for any of those.

Some companies maybe decided to eat the loss when the British pound collapsed, but I guess Apple didn't.
Your countries currency lost lots of its face value so to ignore that major fact of import/export foreign exchange rate and to say Apple just raised its prices is not an accurate representation.
Also to add to that price is foreign import taxes and fees that various governments impose to imported goods that cuts into a company's bottom line and that they pass down to the customer offcourse ;)

So lately I've seen a lot of Fake News and manufactured outrage about the iPhone 8 Pro and it's 5.8" OLED display model costing $1,000 well, how much do you guys think a 256GB iPhone 7 Plus currently costs ?

$969 Plus Tax and Activation folks.

And it's a far superior device the iPhone 7 Plus will go down as having lived just 11 months before a whole new Generation replaced it. What a waste of dough.

Anyone else feel cheated ?
You don't need to upgrade each year..that way the price is is worth it

iPhones retain great resale value. Just sell your old phone to offset much of the cost of a new one.
Yep on comparisons sites mine would go for at least £600

We all know we must have the latest and greatest, that's why we are here and members of this forum. So we will all find a way to get the new iPhone no matter what the cost, let's not kid ourselves. So if you see me with a cooler marked "live kidneys" or at the plasma donation facility, you'll know what's going on.

That's fine, but people like me don't buy the top line products if they are disproportionately over priced. The car market is experiencing the same struggle here as the secondhand car market is booming whereas dealers are begging people to buy new. People aren't because of the price jumps. Consumers always find their level at the end of the day.

I hear you.
The Apple line of products is always higher than every competitor and seems like they dont really care about jacking up the prices way higher than others.
Their macbook prices are getting out of hand lately too.

I know, right? Back in 2013 I married my wife. She was 21 at the time. Now she's 24, going on 25. What do you think, should I upgrade or hold onto her a little while longer? Do you think her trade-in value is past its prime?

I mean the saving grace here is that I have an 18 yr old girl friend and the two get along just fine. Maybe I'll keep both....? Ugh... I wish new ones wouldn't come out every year. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Might be time if she is starting to droop, sag and spread out a bit. If she is moving slower when you ask her to do something for you then go for it. Never wait for serious depreciation before trading in. You don't want to lose too much value. Go for it....

Actually, the wife is training for a marathon in a couple months. Back when I married her she couldn't do a 5k. 10 mile runs are for fun now. She's definitely much fitter. She's starting her PhD program next year so she's got lots of potential and the maintenance costs aren't so high. A previous version I had was a luxury version but upkeep was really expensive. I had too many problems with that one so I cut my losses. So I have a great version now, a sporty version girl friend, but like I said, new ones come out all the time. Maybe I'll hold on to what I have and just grow the collection if a good investment opportunity comes along.

Indeed, my wife was annoyed about the MacBook increase and ended up buying through her employer to save money. I'm sure Apple will react if they see a decrease in sales though. It's a competitive market and times are tough for many people at the moment so it's an era where cheaper products that might not be as good, get noticed. I'll stick with the iPhone but am happy buying older models from now on.

I spent the same on a 256GB 7 Plus. No regrets here. I was coming from a 5s and was in need of an upgrade and the 7 Plus definitely delivered! I would be upset if I came from a 6s. Plus I plan to keep the 7+ at least until 2018
