If you bought and paid for a leather loop and you are frustrated that it hasn't shipped yet, gripe away. They're taking forever to ship. ;)

I totally get that. If you purchased a sport and you want Apple to replace it it with a leather loop for free, I might have to recompose my paragraph from earlier and give you a stern glance. :D

Nah, I don't blame Apple for that, my dates are 5/13 through the 27th (or something close to that). If I don't get it then look for a new thread though! lol

You'll see my thread come 5/13 if I don't have the link band I ordered. It's due between now and 5/12. :)

I, initially, had SO many issues with ios8 on the iPhone 6+ that I truly felt Apple had jumped the shark. I thought they had ****** up the phone software to such a point that I'd reached the end of my Apple product use for the time being (been through various cycles of using/not using Apple devices since the 80's).

But, clearly, I didn't feel enough pain since I ordered the watch. And...I'm surprised. I've had fewer issues with the watch than most new products and many fewer problems than I've had with the last major iOS upgrades. So, yea, I'm happy. And Apple has found another way to keep me tied to them ;)

Fair enough. I just don't believe Apple is beyond criticism. There's this cult like mentality for many that rips into anyone who questions the Apple machine. They're fair game, you pay that much (as I did) you should feel free to question these issues without such fan boy backlash.
I'm still trying to wrap my mind around this comment. So far I've posted one thread asking about three incidents where my watch felt hot after charging. I got courteous and informative responses. I participated in a thread about missing contacts and saw only helpful answers there, too.

The threads that garnered some flames have been those in which the person posting their issue has taken on an alarmist or confrontational tone or implied entitlement to a compensation beyond any reasonable remedy for their complaint. Even in those threads, many respond with courtesy and reason. I hardly see a cultlike mentality in evidence in the Apple Watch section of this site in particular. We here seem very open to acknowledging this product is not for everyone. There are going to be early adopter issues and niche issues that mean some purchasers simply aren't going to like this device so they may as well not waste any more time or money on it and move on.

There have been aspects of the device that aggravate OCD obsessions. That will incite some debate. There have been aspects to the launch and continued shipping delays that incite some debate. That's normal. It's not symptomatic of a toxic fanboy mindset taking over the forum to have some people defending Apple's position.

I've seen the same, greytmom.

When people ask about problems in a "non-dramatic" fashion, they usually get tons of helpful replies. Some of those replies even include "contact Apple, it looks like you got a defective product."

When people storm in here acting like Apple deliberately sold them a crappy product and damning the entire product line, they tend to get told that they're being drama queens.

Because they are.

I don't think that equals the rest of the people here not wanting to hear anything negative about Apple. I have my own complaints about various products and have had them over the years.

It's more about framing your concerns in a manner that's reasonable.

I'm not exactly keen on people who act like every Apple product is absolutely perfect in every way and will solve world hunger, either.

It's unrealistic and sets people up to be greatly disappointed when they discover that the product is simply a phone...a watch... a tablet, or what have you.

Only rosy and glorious posts about Apple or don't bother. LOL, man some of you are priceless.

Sorry, if you were familiar with my posts you wouldn't be making such a generalized statement to satisfy your own bias. ;)

I post plenty of negative stuff about Apple. Almost got my head bit off the night of the AW launch because I was critical of it even 11 minutes in as something was clearly not right.

Knee jerk haters are no different than knee jerk fanboys.

The entire problem with this thread...and with many threads and comments here (or any web forum) is the use of "you" versus "Me".

"I spent $500 and I'm pissed off that Apple released a product with so many imperfections."

"You spent $500 and you need to be pissed that Apple released a product with so many imperfections."

One has potential to start a decent conversation...the other one not so much.

The OP has named 3 issues that people have reported. I'd like to know any electronics product, first gen or otherwise, that had fewer than 3 issues reported by users. Seriously. IMO the watch has done great.

You expect it to work as advertised, please stop making excuses for Apple when all these issues arise. It was not sold to us as beta for testing, it was sold to us as a fully functional product, and we're paying a premium price based on those claims. It seems like it was clearly not ready for prime time.

Rule #1 Apple is not at fault, therefore it must be your fault
Rule #2 if Apple did mess up, then revert back to Rule #1
Rule #3 If we admit Apple may be wrong, then the Apple gods will be angry and will need a sacrifice, so always go with Rule #1

Rules to live by in these forums... Signed;
One of the Apple Zombies

Mine cost $1029 AUD. It is far from perfect, and I am quite aware that I am part of a large scale beta test. It's just a good thing that I enjoy being so. I use every iOS and OS X beta, so this isn't new territory for me.

If you are unhappy with your experience, return it in your 14 day window, or perhaps you can sell it for more on eBay.

Mine is working fine. Cost half what I paid for my Tag that tells time and has a stopwatch. It is also lighter.

This watch has never failed to tell the time for me. With perfect 100% reliability, it has told me the time every instant I've needed it to. Therefore, it is definitely on par, functionally, with every other $550+ watch I've ever owned.

Thanks for pointing out that every single tiny little thing more that this can do beyond merely telling the time is a huge bonus and dramatically multiplies the value for a mere $550.

The last time I spoke to a $550 watch in the shower, it did not remind me of what I was thinking as I left the house.

The last time I felt a strange tapping on my wrist while alone in the dark, things did not end as well as the last photo I was sent via iMessage. That watch didn't help one bit.

The last time I wanted to hear some different music on my car's bluetooth receiver (which only supports basic AVRCP) my old watch was utterly despondent to my tapping and twisting.

I could go on. I'm sure you get the point.

Actually I'm not sure if you ate"pro" or "anti".

I haven't had a $600 toy this fun since my last toy. It works, it's fun, and I can make and take phone calls from my wrist. I found a good restaurant via yelp without taking out my phone, and drove there. How cool is that?

What more do you want from a wrist gadget?

Will it last as long as my i7 iMac, which is 5.5 years old? Probably not. Will it be in service for as long as an iPhone, which I replace every two year? Probably.

Now I just have to get better at sketching on this thing. I can't draw at all, and I draw even worse on the watch.
