I've been a little annoyed at how some people tend to give Apple a pass about literally every issue, but I think you also have to be realistic. This is a completely new product, and not a minor revision to something that Apple has been making for years (think iPhone and iPad). There are going to be some issues. If you can't deal with that, maybe you should've waited for version 2 or 3.

Fair enough. I just don't believe Apple is beyond criticism. There's this cult like mentality for many that rips into anyone who questions the Apple machine. They're fair game, you pay that much (as I did) you should feel free to question these issues without such fan boy backlash.

Totally agree. While it's to be expected that a brand new product will not be perfect, I find that people are always so quick to give Apple a pass

The problem is most of these issues are most likely small batch defective issues or software bugs that will get sorted with an update. If the taptic thing was a widespread problem for every apple watch then sure criticize them, but that's not what has actually happened. I don't know of any issue that is effecting the performance of every single watch. Let Apple deal with the small issues before we start criticizing them about it.

You expect it to work as advertised, please stop making excuses for Apple when all these issues arise. It was not sold to us as beta for testing, it was sold to us as a fully functional product, and we're paying a premium price based on those claims. It seems like it was clearly not ready for prime time.

Mine is working exactly as advertised. I mean, what with me reading/watching/paying attention to the ads and all that.

Yes. I agree that people should not be ignoring major issues.

Taptic feedback isn't working at all? Call Apple.

Watch is shocking you every time you wear it? Call Apple.

You missed 2 out of 30 notifications? It's probably the software and this is a new product... chill out.

Your band/watch has some wee scratches on it? All watches get these... come on.

LOL.

The original iPhone had so many issues, I cannot count them all. Look where it is today.

Some people aren't cut out for early adoption. They just aren't. And that's totally fine.

If you want a product to be damned near perfect in every way, never buy the first generation.

It's a Gen 1 product. Of course it's going to be glitchy and imperfect. That's not making excuses for Apple, it's just a fact of the complex nature of tech today. It's not just Apple, products. It's not just gadgets. It's cars, appliances, anything with something "all new" it likely to not perfectly align with marketing claims.

When people ask me if they should buy something all-new, I explain to them the "joys" of being an early adopter. If they can't handle the downside they should wait for an "all clear" signal.

I would say, if you are not satisfied, take it back. Grousing here does you no good other than waste time while your return privilege tick tocks away.

(And you really didn't pay $550-1100 for a watch. The watch is $300. You paid $250-800 for upgraded case and glass and maybe band. The tech part is the same for every model.)

So AGAIN, just return it.

No one is holding a gun to your head and forcing you to keep the watch.

Jesus Tapdancing Christ.

Only rosy and glorious posts about Apple or don't bother. LOL, man some of you are priceless.

I spent that but I would consider myself a fool to think that a tech device wouldn't have issues out the gate.

Are the issues a bit more than usual, yes, but Ive never been one of those people who batch and moan about every little thing. You bought the first ever apple smart watch. You should have known you were taking a chance when you bought it.

Thats why they have a 14 day return policy. Just return the thing and stop crying.

Fanboy says what?

So are you just going to ignore my comments in post 29 and start making fun of people now?

Or would you still like to discuss the topic? Can't really tell from your latest responses...

Fanboy says what?

at the same time you are bringing up the known community issues to stir the pot and fuel your rant.

Do you personally have all the issues mentioned? tattoo issues, taptic feedback and lost notifications? you have all 3 problems?

Actually, I've addressed that several times for those willing to look beyond their blinders. The point is that people are spending a lot of money and being flamed for even questioning some of these real issues. I'm a perfect example in this thread and yes, I will defend myself.

Folks, we have every right to question things when spending this kind of money. It doesn't mean I should "take it back and quit crying" or I should "quit posting about it". I am going to keep mine, I want it. I also want to criticize it where I feel it's justified. There's middle ground.

Who is "you?" If it's me, I'm happy as a clam.

If it is you, well, you make your own decision. Not sure why you need to announce it, but que sera, sera.

You don't seem to be understanding for some reason. All I am saying is if your product is defective instead of someone coming in and saying "OMG taptic sucks this watch is garbage" or something else equally ridiculous, you should simply set up a Genius Bar appointment and let them handle it. All mass produced products are going to have batches with issues, but for some reason lots of people are choosing to bash the whole product line over these issues. If you are not willing to let Apple get you a fixed product or patch the OS when it's having issues then return it is the best advice.

Perhaps yours is defective?

I understand this is just my opinion, but for the money we should expect more both in quality and in service.
This is why I typically do not buy any first generation technology, Apple or otherwise. By nature, 1st gen products are in effect consumer tests. Tech companies need to get something out to the market at some point in order to profit, and then learn, refine, adjust, improve, etc.

I decided to take the plunge on this 1st gen product, but I knew full well there would be a notably improved version 1 year later. Longer battery life, thinner, more memory, faster, better apps, etc.

Truth be told, if reviews were largely bad, and if I had similar bad experiences, I'd have no problem returning and waiting until Gen 2. But while far from perfect, people seem pretty happy.

You sound just as bad as the Apple fanboys you are complaining about.

How is someone saying if your having problems with the watch to take it back a fanboy? If my Sony TV wasn't working right I would take it back.

The hepatic problem that some people have had, a very small amount even among members here. I remember a couple of members weren't working at all.

The notifications issue will probably get better with some updates. Even the Pebble, and Android smartwatches miss notifications sometimes.

The whole tattoo issue isn't a defect of the watch. It effects anything that uses that type of sensor. Even medical equipment suffers from this.

I know your going to call me a fanboy for this. I can tell from your other posts in this thread, but I don't care I'm a big boy an it won't hurt me.

There's a difference between not understanding and not agreeing. Let's keep this civil please.

These issues have been posted about time and time again on these forums and elsewhere. Apple, however, is not acknowledging any of them and in time they will, if history is any lesson. That being said, I'm perfectly willing to wait for a patch, but it doesn't mean I shouldn't have a right to call them on it, especially on an item with this price tag.

Actually, not that it will matter much but I like that you're at least acknowledging these issues. You don't think it's fair to expect better for the money? IMO it's dismissive to bash those who do. Sure, we can cancel orders or return them, but we can also hold them to a better standard. :)

I spent $422.94 for mine.

You do have a every right to question but you aren't questioning, you're accusing as if Apple purposefully shipped a bunch of items that weren't ready for prime time. It makes you look like an azz instead of a sensible consumer who understands life isn't perfect especially when it comes to new technology.

And I don't expect any new technology to work as advertised.

Mine is working great. Not sure what isn't ready for prime time. In the last 10 days I've had fewer issues with the watch than with my iPad Air 2 (6th generation iPad).

And heck, at $1000 it still does more than my $2000 watch which just tells time.

I don't get why everyone is being accused of lying. Some of us are happy and ours work as we expected.

Personal attacks followed by preaching to me about being sensible. You win man, there's no arguing with that.
