Sennheiser MX460's are cheap and good.

The Sennheiser CX300ii's are great too.

I go through earphones

I see carrying an amp around with headphones and the iPhone as a serious condition man.

Kinda defeats that "portability" aspect

With a small enough amp, the portability is not negatively affected. Can carry this little kit in my shirt pocket everyday for the commute with no issues.

Though I dont have a set, a buddy and I where in best buy a few weeks ago and used them at the lil display thingy they have.

I have to say that those are the best damn sounding things I have ever had the pleasure of listening to. They sound better than most car systems I have heard lol.

Besides that I am a Dre fan so it doubles the coolness factor

Dr Dre headphones are the new Bose.

Overly expensive, horrid sound quality.

Love my XtremeMac(FutureSonic) FS1 with Shure Foamies, but it does not have the Button/Mic. They are have very good sound quality and a lot of clear quality bass.

If anyone knows of a good place to buy a quality cable for a transplant? If not, I will destroy my standard Apple headphones to use that cable.

FYI, they are similar to the FutureSonic Atrio which I may upgrade to one day.

I can't bring myself to buy headphones that aren't white (to match) and have a compatible mic and button. If anyone has some suggestions for that, let me know. I'm currently using some modded Apple/Sennheiser earbuds. I removed the Apple earbuds from the iPhone headset and replaced them with a pair of matching white Sennheiser (MX460) earbuds. Does the trick for now, but I'm looking for an upgrade! :)

I really wish I could afford custom UEs with a mini amp. *sigh*

Got these to use with my 3GS and they were a great upgrade from my standard Apple headphones. Loud and punchy too. The in-line remote actually worked - even after being used at the gym and other sweaty conditions. The skip button was fine but the volume controls didn't work until iOS4 was installed - now everything works perfect.

Klipsch S4i - love the inline controls for ipod as well as voice control.

Nice, waiting on the white Bumper (3 week wait) and my Klipsch S2ms should be arriving any day. They aren't the 4's but do you think the 2s will be a noticeably nicer upgrade coming from the stock Apple earbuds?

Was torn between the klipsch s4i and the new vmoda remix remote earphones... What swayed me in the end was the fact that the s4 are only £60, whereas the s4i are £87, so basically paying 30 quid for the buttons!

Also I liked my old vibe duos, they were for my 3G so don't work with my iPhone 4, so ordered a pair of Rouge Remix remotes, one week wait, £65 from iheadphones.co.uk

I know a lot of people complain that vmodas are too bassy, but I like my music bassy, and love the look of vmodas.

Will be replacing my over ear headphones (sennheiser hd212 - awesome value) for my birthday in December with the new vmoda crossfade lp's I think. One irritating thing about the sennheiseres is they don't fit I with a bumper, so I have to use an extension cable making the already maaaasive cable even longer. Tied it up in a bundle with a rubber band and some cable ties, it's so heavy now!

Used to have the Apple In-Ear headphones until they got nicked, so instead of spending another £65 (dont really think they're worth that anyway) I just got some Sennheiser CX300IIs for £30 (I wanted red so I paid more than they usually cost ) and they've been serving me well for the last 5 months. Would love some decent over-head headphones but I can't afford it.
