...Back on topic: iPhone 5c for me...

That's a good choice. 5C with a clashing colored case. Awful. Looks like Lego.

I still can't decide if Apple was just being "playful" with the 5c, or if it was a deliberate attempt to make the 5c hideous. Force those with the cash to trade-up the 5s?

Each iPhone was objectively one of the best phones for its time. It's very hard choosing a 'least favourite' as each and every iPhone was very good.

However, if I had to choose one, it would probably be the necessary evil of the iPhone 3G. The plastic design wasn't as nice as the metal-backed original and it was thicker, however it brought the price down which meant the iPhone could gain traction in the market and added 3G and GPS which were sorely needed. Without the 3G, I doubt the iPhone would be nearly as successful as it is today, but I do think it was the only phone which was a downgrade in some departments.

I suppose another inverted way to look at this is to say that the worst iPhone EVER is the one that you want, but don't have?

Like a high school crush who's out of your league.

So near, yet so far. Torture.

At the time, the 4S was the biggest disappointment at launch.

It wound up being good, but the lack of LTE was a disappointment. I just remember in 2011 the rumors swirling of two phones: the 4S and the 5 being released simultaneously. We were all certain the LTE iPhone was coming, but the rumors were all around the 4S.

A good number of us were a year off.

the only reason why it was disappointing was that it was delayed and everyone rumored it to be a brand new phone due to the delay... but it wasn't. I hate rumors for this reason.

Totally agree with this. Compared to the much heavier, better built original, the 3G/3GS felt like a mass-produced, Fisher-Price quality iPhone. People who started with the 3G/3GS or later (which constitute the vast majority of the members here) won't know any better.

It's got to be the 3G. My first iPhone, was great until OS updates killed its performance, and left out simple features (I.e. Wallpapers).

Went away to Android and WebOS until the iPhone 5s, which has been absolutely brilliant.

I just bought 3 iPhone 5Cs (refurbished, but otherwise in 100% conditions) for $209 each + $10 shipping off ebay (factory outlet).

Gave them to my parents and college-student sister.

They love it. They all moved up from dying iphone 4S'...seems like a MAJOR jump. Although technically it was only a 1 generation jump, it seemed massive, iOS 8 flies on the 5C, the 4s struggles.
2x CPU and 2x RAM does that.

Probably wouldnt waste any money on a case though at that price.

so no, I don't hate the 5C.

iPhone 5C. I didn't like the plastic design. If it were the flagship iPhone then fair enough. However the fact that he more premium 5S was on sale made me dislike the phone.

I gotta say the iPhone 4. It was the phone that was admittedly defective by Apple, due to "Antenna-gate." They rushed it to June with all the leaks happening before it, while they should have kept it on the September/October refresh cycle as they originally had for that phone, which is what they have had for the 4S and beyond, and fixed the Antenna issue before launch of the 4.

What pushed the iPhone cycle to the fall was Siri delaying the release of the 4S. It wasn't due to the overly blown out of proportion antenna issue and Apple rushing the 4 or taking the time to "fix" the antenna for the 4S. Also, June was the typical update period for the iPhone. It was only with the 4S did it get pushed to fall.

All phones will lose signal if you block the antenna. My 3G did it when I tested it out after the 3GS release and users reported the same thing. Did it to my moms flip phone. All lost signal when the antenna was covered with my fingers. Obviously having an internal antenna makes the effects smaller while having an external antenna worsens the effects. It wasn't a defect.

Anyway the 3G was my least favorite. I hated the plastic back. While the 5C is also plastic, at least it feels sturdier/better quality than the 3G.

No. It's indicating this thread is a whiny thread.

I apologize if it detracted from your thread. I thought I was participating nicely and can absolutely say I was not complaining about the thread.

I can't choose and that's an answer the same as any other. Since that's not a choice on the poll I figured I'd give my answer in a humorous way.

That's all it was. The equivalent of me saying "I can't decide."

Honestly I thought I might get a little blowback for trivializing the Holocaust. If you want to have at me for that angle, by all means, go for it. I do apologize for that, it is dark humor.

But it was not meant to mess up the thread in any way.

Admittedly it might have been a bit obscure to non movie-goers.

Damn it, this means I'm old now, doesn't it?

Thank you. No harm done.

I take it then actually owning/using the iPhone isn't part of your criteria for voting?
Absolutely not, because:

a) only people who have owned every model would be eligible to vote, and

b) the iPhone 5c would have zero votes, because every person who's actually owned one appreciates that its aesthetic and tactile qualities make it the sexiest phone of all time.
