I vote for the 6/6+. Protruding camera lens, ugly antenna bands. Just don't like the look of it very much. Especially compared to the 5S

Although it was my first iPhone and brought me into the Apple world I have to say it's the iPhone 3G.

It was awesome when it came out, but now it's just hardly usable running iOS 4.2.1 and the problem isn't really the OS but 3rd party apps. They either don't work at all, those who worked back in the days don't offer an old version anymore and those who do are extremely slow. For example it takes an entire minute just to load Facebook and Twitter. Not to mention how bad scrolling is.

Currently I'd say the iPhone 3G is only good for phone calls, SMS messages, as a calculator and maybe to use some of the other stock apps. You can still browse the web and watch YouTube relatively decently but the loading speeds are horrible. Some websites will crash Safari all the time. Everything else is just a huge, huge, huge pain. You also don't want to use it as a camera, it's only 2 MP and it doesn't shoot videos at all.

Tough one. I haven't had them all. I've owned the original, the 3G, the 4, the 4S, 5 and 6+. Out of all of them, I like the design of the original iPhone the most. That's why I also like the design of the 6 and 6+, it's kind of a hommage to the round shapes of the original iPhone.

UI-wise I think they were all good. Sure they get slower with newer software, especially the 3G became incredibly slow with iOS 4, but with the A5 and up that has become less of an issue.

But if I had to choose, I would pick the 5C. I never really got why they changed the amazing color scheme of the iPhone 5 and turned it into a toy. It has to be the worst design choice ever.

At the time, the 4S was the biggest disappointment at launch.

Well someone in my family is still using an iPhone 4S and I'm the person who has to update and help her with it. Yes, many people are complaining how slow it is with iOS 8, but you can't just compare it with the speed of the iPhone 6. It's still perfectly usable and does almost everything later iPhone models are capable of. Heck they are even selling 4S technology in the iPod touch today.

I also have an iPhone 4 laying around and I can tell you that there is a very noticeable speed difference between the 4 and the 4S. Especially when it comes to games.

I think the 4/4S was the best built & best looking iPhone but that's just me.

For the least favorite... No comment lol!

Waiting for the 6S........

I don't get why people are picking a few-generation-old phones as the least favorite because they don't run the more recent iOS well. That makes no sense. Judge it based on when it was new.

That said, the 3G/3GS was plasticky, cheaper feeling compared to the original and 4/4s and later, and a bit chubby. Whether it could run the more recent iOS well is pretty much beside the point.

This poll is a bit biased because many members here were late to the party and hence have no experience with the earlier generation iPhones, but it is what it is.

Well then I'd still have to say it's the iPhone 3G because Apple replaced the aluminum design with plastic and kept almost the exact same internals as the original iPhone. It's even thicker than the original iPhone. The only new thing was 3G.

Yes, you can use the same argument for the iPhone 5C when compared to the iPhone 5, but it was never Apple's flagship phone.

Agreed.

To be more accurate, the only new things in the iPhone 3G were 3G and A-GPS (aside from the new form factor which was actually a downgrade), making it the least significant update of all the iterations.

I don't like the new 6/6+. There is something about the rounded edges that just do not appeal to me. I love the curved glass along the edge, but the roundness continuing onto the bezel, it makes it stick out further. Maybe if they had that rounded glass, and from the edge go straight down, if have a different opinion. Also the protruding camera is an awful design aspect, that is the main issue with it. And the band breaks on the back don't help.

That being said, the 4 and 4s were my favorites. The 5 and 5S were a very close second, but the metal plate on the back is what kept them from the top of my list. If the back were a consistent material/color, it would be my all time favorite phone design.

IPhone 4 ... But not for the antenna gate, it was working just fine.
It has a defective home button. First and only iPhone I had to return.

I've had every single iPhone.

For me the most frustrating phone was iPhone 4. Why?

Simple: while most people complain about antennagate.

The more serious issue for me was the faulty sensor that's supposed to blank out the screen when your ear is close to the ear piece on the phone.

Since I am constantly multi tasking while I am on the phone. If I shifted his ear slightly. The sensor would be faulty and the screen would become active again. Thus i would had accidental hang ups all the time. I simply was unable to carry a conversation unless I stood still without barely moving my head so as not to activate the screen again.

And no, even further software did not fix this issue for me entirely. Even Apple replaced the iPhone 4 for me and still had same issues.

I was so glad I got rid of the iPhone 4 in May 2011. I had it for 11 months. Used my spare android phone Motorola Atrix till iPhone 4s launched. Had zero issues with the iPhone 4s during phone calls. The 4S fixed everything that was wrong with the iPhone 4.

The iPhone 3g and iphone 4 are my least favorites. They're both very underpowered in my opinion, and the later "s" versions fixed most of the problems.

The iPhone 4 flew with the version of iOS it shipped with, and to this day it remains the favourite phone I've owned. It wasn't underpowered at all at the time. Sure it wasn't as future-proofed as some later models but I thought this poll was a kind of 'on the day, just been released' thing?
S versions are always better than the preceding phone, but the trouble is that they aren't available for another whole year...

Every iOS device I've used works great with the version of iOS it ships with. The real test comes later when you see how long it will actually be supported.

My 6+ didn't! Worst out of the box Apple experience to date.
Screen freezing, frequent unresponsive touchscreen, nothing happened when you clicked on links in landscape mode, crazy-bad app crashes, landscape/portrait rotation lock-ups, constant app and webpage reloading...
As for the longevity thing, with only 1GB of RAM onboard it isn't looking rosy.

6 plus. I'm with your on the form factor. It's ugly and not very natural to hold.
I'm using my 6 plus and still struggle with the rounded sides.

The 3G. Party because the performance was terrible. Partly because the 3Gs, which completely fixed it, was constantly berated as a minor, disappointing, unnecessary upgrade. Those 3G users were a staunch group.

I've had the Original iPhone, 3G, 3GS, 4, 4S, and skipped the 5C/5S and currently own the 6 b/c 6+ felt like an iPad Mini...lol Disliked the 3G b/c it was still growing and a bunch of us were still "jailbreaking" to get apps that Apple just wouldn't allow or hadn't got the jump on us to create their own app...

I have to say, the 6 and 6 plus are perhaps the least polished iPhones Apple has ever released. The build quality seems pretty awful compared to my old 5S.

Oh well, maybe the 7 will be better

iPhone 6 Plus. Way too big, and unnecessarily thin :|

I would have said the 5C, but not for the reasons you guys have said. The price. It was supposed to be the budget iPhone, yet it cost £469 at launch. It's still a ridiculous price today, at £319. :(

3G.

It was my first iPhone, was delighted with it at the time, but looking back it was pretty awful. Cracking around the headphone socket, scratchtastic plastic on the back, pretty ropey performance, meh. Also, iOS4(?) brought it to it's knees, it was an adequate experience on 3.2.2 (or whatever it was). I remember updating it on the Monday prior to getting my 4 on the Friday, my word those few days were painful. I believe a later update redeemed it somewhat, but I'd long since sold it by then.

The 4 was absolutely amazing in comparison, the point at which the iPhone truly became a mature product.

I've liked all my iPhones, true when the newer one comes out, then I like that more, but there's none that I didn't like

The iPhone 3G. Same specs as the original iPhone with the addition of the 3G and GPS and an ugly plastic back.
