I've only had the iPhone 4, 5, and 6 and I voted for the 5. Purely because it scuffed so easily, got very hot at times and the battery was atrocious on it. Loved my iPhone 4 and love my 6.

I'm only 15 and am not *personally* familiar with the iPhones before the 4/4S, but I voted 3G. I've read all about the older iPhones and sort of know the basic ins and outs of each of the iterations of iPhone. Anyway, I owned an iPod touch 2nd gen which is pretty similar to the iPhone 3G and remember being highly disappointed by iOS 4, even though I was only 10 when that all happened. My brother who was 14 at the time had an iPod Touch 4th generation with all the bells and whistles. Multitasking, homescreen backgrounds, etc. My iPod had none of that. Plus it was slow. Really slow. I dealt with it for 2 more years though and still loved that iPod until I saved up for a long time and bought an iPod 5 to get away from that mess.

I find the iPhone 5C pretty... Irritating. With its sort of nasty plastic body compared to the beautiful iPhone 5, the way it was marketed as brand new, tricking the uninformed in a way... But all of that just doesn't compare to how the iPhone 3G was stripped of all the features of iOS 4 and how the thing lagged as well.

Anyway, I find the whole "antennagate" thing with the iPhone 4 so stupid. I mean, I can make my iPhone 6 drop a little bit just by covering the plastic gaps with my hands. Got my iPhone to drop from around -110db to -118db. Not too major but it's still a thing. Non-issue though. Just like that whole antennagate thing for the iPhone 4. Just stop.

And do you think 3G over edge and a GPS were a little improvement ???

It's what the original should have come with in the first place. In some ways the 3G was a downgrade (aluminum to plastic and smaller battery coming to mind)

Did you ever use a non-Verizion iPhone 4? The antennagate was real on there. You could instantly drop the signal by 50db or more just by touching that spot.

Basically every iPhone with iOS 7+.

True, that plastic was terribly nasty, much worse than Samsung plastic.

iOS 7 on an iPhone 4 is far worse.

I started with a 3G then 3GS, 4, 4S, 5, 5S, and now going to a 6, my least fav was 3G, never had a 5C, and two of my favorites were 3GS, and 4

The 5 was cool and so is the 5S, but the 3GS was a huge upgrade and the 4 well Retina was born and so was the Aluminum and Glass phones we all have now. The 3GS was a special phone for me, and I love that model, I had a 32GB White 3GS, awesome phone at the time.

For me, it was a toss up between the 3G or 5C

3G and 5C were both a step backwards build quality wise, but I ended up choosing the 3G due to how the 5C has been better "future proofed" relative to the 3G at its time. 2 years after the 3G came out, it was barely useable whereas the 5C today (2 year old tech, given its a repackaged 5) is still snappy on ios8 (bugs aside)

Also the 3G touchscreen - we really overlook how great Oleophobic coating was given that is part of every phone now. That made touching the phone's touchscreen night and day for me from 3G to 3GS. The 5C and 3G to their credit are both comfortable to hold, but given how much the 3G regressed two years after its initial release, I feel the 5/5C tech still holds up very well.

the iPhone 3GS I liked, as I felt that is everything the 3G should have been. It was better future proofed and a faster phone, with tons of under-the-hood upgrades. I recently sold mine and I do miss it a bit! Felt great to hold with that curved back

the iPhone 4 was a marvel at its release. It was the first iPhone I got using a carrier upgrade. The retina display and facetime were revolutionary. I have family all over Canada, in the Bay area, and in the UK so for us, Facetime truly has allowed us to stay connected with each other (it was easier to use than skype and we just exchanged phone numbers, no need for other ID's and signing in to other services etc etc. Facetime made it simple). I still think retina on the 4 is amazing, still a stunning display. Excellent build quality.

The 4S on ios5 is one of the fastest iPhone devices around, and it fixed a lot of the complaints the 4 had. Same great build quality.

the 5 and 5S are super lightweight phones, powerful, brought LTE and beautiful designs and great build quality. I personally feel the Black and Slate 5 is the best looking iPhone ever, such a sleek looking phone (just keep it in good condition!). I really liked ios7 and that ran great on both the 5 and 5S

The 5S is still one of the most powerful phones around, it also introduced touch ID which was amazing for security purposes (generally speaking) and saved a lot of time requiring no password input

the 6 and 6+ both have fantastic build quality, though they are too expensive in my opinion to pay for a phone, they have the best battery life and screens in an iphone ever and run great on ios8 (bugs aside). Beautiful looking phones and incredibly fast. Amazing cameras too (for a phone)

In the end, it had to be a toss up between the 3G and the 5C for me.

I've had the iPhone 3G, 4, 4s, 5, 5c and now the 6. If I look back the 3G was probably the worst in terms of performance but at the time I didn't know any better and loved the phone. I would have to say the one I really didn't like is the 5c. Only reason I went to the 5c was because I switched carriers and they didn't have any iPhone 5 or 5s in stock at the time so I figured I'd give it a shot. Currently loving my iPhone 6. Didn't get the 6+ because it just felt uncomfortable in my hands.

For me, it definitely is the 3G. Especially coming from the original iPhone which was built more solidly than the plastic 3G. I can also see why there isn't a lot of love for the 5c either. I briefly owned the 5c, and I really liked it. Yes, it was plastic, but it felt great in my hands. I really think Apple geared the 5c toward the younger crowd or those who wanted an iPhone, but couldn't afford the 5s at the time.

Absolutely not, because:

a) only people who have owned every model would be eligible to vote, and

b) the iPhone 5c would have zero votes, because every person who's actually owned one appreciates that its aesthetic and tactile qualities make it the sexiest phone of all time.

I've owned every phone apart from the original iPhone, and I still think the 5c

iPhone 6...its rounded sides and being too thin make it 'slippery'/uncomfortable to hold. I don't like using cases but I may have to.

If they made a 4.7" iPhone 5s (with Apple Pay), that would be the best outcome in my opinion.

Edit: Also, I hate the protruding lens. Truly shows at some point thinness isn't necessary (especially if they could have made it slightly thicker and had OIS in the camera).

I am going against the grain and saying the 4S. Very slight incremental updates on it, and Siri back when I thought it was a gimmick (though it has now become highly functional and is getting better as they work on it). Kept the iPhone 4 form factor (which is my least favorite of the designs) and fixed antenna gate (the only saving grace of this phone in my opinion).

The 5C was a great new spin on the iPhone 5... I did a lateral upgrade and I loved it. The feel of the plastic was a great throwback to the 3GS.

The 5S had the gimmick factor when it came to the Fingerprint Sensor and the 64-bit processor, but at the very least it is helping to shape how the future iPhones will run.

4, 5, 6, 6 Plus - All new designs with great new features on each model.

3GS - Major improvements on the 3G, while keeping the awesome design and feel of the 3G.

3G - Honestly, this is the runner up on my list. All it was was the 2G with a cell radio swap. I would have hoped for a little more beef in the processor and the RAM with the dawn of the app store. (Though this would happen a year later.) However, I did love the feel of the phone.

2G - Never had one, but I held my bosses a few times. Loved how it worked! I couldn't afford it at the time, but I got the 3G when it was available.

iPhone 4S offered "very slight incremental upgrades"? No, the clock speed didn't increase, but the CPU gained another core. That is pretty big, actually. I remember using my friend's iPhone 4 on iOS 6 and it felt sort of sluggish. However, iOS 6 on my iPod 5 at the time and his iPad 3 flew, and that was 1 year old hardware at the time! I'm not sure if only the good memories persisted from that time, but A5+iOS 6 offered an amazing experience in my eyes. I felt like I couldn't do anything to slow the thing down, even if I tried. So fast and fluid. However iOS 7 killed A5 devices, big time. Sort of ruinning the iPhone 4S and everything for me. I look at them and just think "Ew" now.

And I never really used Touch ID on a 5S so I'm not sure if it has much improved with the iPhone 6, but I would not consider Touch ID a gimmick. It works exceedingly well, and makes the home button look prettier. I love it. Wish it was on my iPad mini 2. The 64-bit A7 does seem pretty gimmicky to me though. I can tell there's a big performance difference between iPhone 5 and 5S, but A7 iPads SUCK with iOS 8. It makes me feel like I'm using a 3 year old iPad rather than a 1 year old iPad.

3 4 and 5. Hmmm I see a pattern here haha

The S models were always substantially faster.

I think the 5 was the biggest let down for me, it just didn't change enough from the 4S looks wise..

Have previously owned 3G, 4 and 5S.
