So underrated. Beautiful cinematography.

Not too sure if these are my top 3 movies, but these are 3 of my favs.
City of God
Wall E
Back to the Future!

narrowing it down to 3 is simply impossible... if i include Il buono, il brutto, il cattivo, Shawshank redemption, and the Godfather i'll have to exclude Pulp Fiction, 2001, Ronin, raiders of the lost ark, blade runner, ben hur, nightmare before christmas

I'm a movie lover, I can't possibly mention three movies without the parameters being a lot more specific. :)

+1

At least make it a genre, or time period. I'll come up with 3, but will keep remembering others...I could never narrow it down.

  1. The Big Lebowski
  2. Blade Runner
  3. The Wire: I know this is a TV series, but since it is one continuous story without an episode feel, I feel comfortable in bending the rules..;)
  4. Since I'm bending the rules anyway, Im going to add The Sopranos to my list :p

Me neither. In high school, I had a different list, but this doesn't mean that those movies are worse now. My taste in films has just changed is all.

Currently, 3 movies that I remember being really great are:

1. Wall•E
2. Juno
3. The Pursuit of Happiness.

YES!!!!!!!!! FINALLY SOMEONE THAT SAID The Pursuit of Happiness!!!!!!!!!:):):D that's just one Will Smith's greatest films.

1. Dances with Wolves
2. Fern Gully
3. Pocahontas

:)

Only 3? Damn!

1. The Big Lebowski
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

Pineapple Express and Fight Club very close behind.

1. Wind. It may not have the best storyline, but as a person who loves to sail, the sailing scenes are the best I have seen.

2. Forest Gump.

3. The Hunt for Red October.

I know it's difficult. But I liked the idea because it makes you remember all the movies you've seen.

But maybe for people who prefer to expand their post, what obeygiant did is an option, your top 3 of different genres.

After reading all the thread, I realized I missed to mention one movie: The Sound of Music. I couldn't stop watching it when I was younger, and I still like to see sometimes.

My most-watched films are:

1. Scarface
2. Pulp Fiction
3. Marathon Man

I also watched them dozens of times:

Citizen Kane, Stand by Me, Schindler's List, Love Story - they might be slightly snobbish, boring, heavy and embarrassing for some, but I just like to see them again and again. Oh, and of course Star Wars - The Empire Strikes Back

Braveheart
The Dark Knight
Trading Places

If I had a gun pointed to my head, I GUESS that would be my top three. I can go all over the place though, depending on the mood I am in. I can go Law Abiding Citizen, Black Hawk Down, The Town, Miracle (which I think is the best Sports movie), etc.

1. Back to the Future trilogy
2. The Fifth element
3. Independance Day(Pretty much any will smith movie)

Honorable Mentions

Children of Men
Inception
Smokin Aces

There are sooo many

I could never pick only three, but three that I never tire of are:

Gallipoli
Vanilla Sky
Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels

Gallipoli is a fantastic movie, and if you like Mel Gibson, you won't be disappointed.
Vanilla Sky hits me on a personal note, and I cry no matter how many times I watch it.
Lock Stock is such a perfect ride of comedy. Snatch is equally awesome, but gotta give the vote to the first one I saw, which tipped me off to Guy's great films.

Tough to pick three. It's like choosing a favorite food or song - my choices will likely depend on my mood. But you asked for three, so here goes:

Pulp Fiction
The Big Lebowski
Blazing Saddles

1. Dig! (2004 - Ondi Timoner)
2. 28 Days Later (2002 - Danny Boyle)
3. The Royal Tenenbaums (2001 - Wes Anderson)

I urge everyone to see these films.
