It’s amazing how much hate this product has form non-owners

I bought this “version one “ device years ago and still love it. It’s still the best piece of technology that I own.

Nobody ever complains about how much a tricked out MacBook Pro costs, or one of the top of line Apple desktops. But for some reason this Apple Vision leads to such much jealousy that the haters come out of the woodwork….

Sadly... people projecting hate is empowering, and feels good broadcasting that to the masses. It's the same across a wide variety of Apple aspects, starting with Cook becoming Apple's CEO back in 2011.

but Apple says that the thing is for enterprise sector, doctors gonna see Chicago Med in the middle of a procedure, right ? 😎

Checking the date . . . No, it's not April 1.

I'm an Apple Vision Pro owner. Not one of those AVP haters who just hangs around to bitch and moan about how expensive the AVP is. To me, this is a big deal.

Now all we need to make Apple Vision Pro the ultimate visual content consumption device is . . .

1. A native Netlix Apple Vision Pro app
2. 3D content in the HBO Max app.
3. 2D and 3D IMAX enhanced content in the Apple TV and HBO Max app (and 3D IMAX enhanced content in the Disney app).
4. More, and better immersive movie theater environments.

Starting today, an official YouTube app is available on the Apple Vision Pro, allowing you to watch videos on a theater-sized screen with immersive visionOS Environments.

Every video on YouTube is available in the new, standalone visionOS app, including standard videos, 180° videos, 360° videos, and YouTube Shorts. And on the newer Apple Vision Pro with the M5 chip, you can even watch YouTube videos in 8K.

Apple Vision Pro users can access their YouTube subscriptions, playlists, watch history, and more.

It was already possible to watch YouTube videos via the Safari browser on the Apple Vision Pro, but there was no official YouTube app on the device until now. A third-party YouTube app called "Juno" was available on visionOS in 2024, but it was quickly removed from the App Store because it was deemed to be violating YouTube's Terms of Service.

The official YouTube app is available in the visionOS App Store. The app is compatible with Apple Vision Pro models with the M2 chip and the M5 chip.

Watching the ads must be breathtaking…

Good to hear! By time they release a lower priced one in a couple of years, it will have all the basic apps we expected for it. Great job!

I’m sure it functions perfectly well for basic viewing, yes. It’s hardly the ideal experience, though, to open a web browser in your $3500 headset in order to get to YouTube. And I assume it didn’t support 3D/360° videos very well, if at all.

Good thing then there is an App now.

I still think headsets that simulate the massive theater presentations ARE the future of viewing. Especially with everyone living in parents basements, or small apt living with 5 room-mates and your bedroom is a closet. They just need to be at the quality level where they are perceptively indistinguishable from the real deal. They also need to cost next to nothing. Be a commodity item. I absolutely they will be one day as cheap as any 55" TV today.
Most likely if you have five roommates then you can’t afford an Apple Vision Pro in the first place. 🤔

anyone can afford it if they want to save up their money and prioritize it. I made sacrifices, sold things, and put money aside and used my tax return on it that year. Don't have to be Rich to have nice things. and it's by far my fav device and gets used every day. but all these subscriptions add up and it's the least necessary. Hulu costs me $1 a month. why Would I want to pay $14 for YouTube.
People like to mention the price frequently.
But Apple makes a lot of MacBook configurations much more expensive.

Like you said, you just have to choose your priorities.

Now we know why Google was so aggressive and killed Christian Selig's (developer of Apollo, a defunct Reddit app for iOS) Juno app (Youtube app for Apple Vision Pro) - https://christianselig.com/2024/02/introducing-juno/
This app is such a travesty in comparison. Juno was one of the things that made me want a headset to begin with, I miss the days of thoughtful native apps on Apple devices. Hell, the Safari experience is better and has more features than this app that came three years late.

FINALY, it arrived here too. And it looks SO great. Really happy with it, been watching till 3 in the morning. Didnt know there were that many youtube channels with 180 and 360 material. Very well done!

About time? I guess? Better late than never? I still feel like $3,500 to watch YouTube is crazy.
Why always talk about the price? I spended nearly 8000.- for my macstudio ultimate, fully loaded. I had to save for 2 years, but it was worth it. The only thing (i dont understand) i DONT like that the Dutch apple (again!) refuse to sell it so i had to drive 850 km to get the vision pro. And then the "problems" only start. In Holland i cant get support or order lenses, because apple holland dont sell it. And where i bought it (Germany) i cant get support because i dont live there. And i cant order lenses because apple only wants to SEND it, but i dont have a German adress and they refuse to send till a 'forein" adres". WHY do apple customers have to be punished for this?

That seems to be an issue with several Safari app versions of streaming services.

Yeah safari doesn’t seem to ply nice with a lot of sites/youtube /streaming etc. or other way around or mix of the two

I’d like to think it has to do with glorious Apple privacy features etc…,then these companies/sites don’t go the extra length to fix their stuff to cooperate so as to get you to visit/download their site/app smh.

If morenppl just gave up and stopped engaging then I’m sure there’d be some change as to how they approach safari but ppl (me included at times) want stuff right away so convenience wins out (majority of the time seemingly)

: (

YouTube used to be one of my top favorite sites ever. Really wish Apple or someone consumer friendly would create a nice alternative…

Apple COULD do it I’m guessing since they so many popular video bloggers/instagram users/fans in their corner….

Seriously. I use this as my mini home theater and it’s weird as hell to keep bringing up the price and say it’s not worth it for one single use case. Like dude I’ve built home theaters that were more than $10,000 and they were still not as good as this

What headphones/speakers do you use with your awesome Vision Pro if you don’t mind my asking…and whatever you daily drive have you tested them against AirPods Pro and or AirPods Max and if so how do they compare? Peace

If you were JUST watching YouTube and it wasn't floating on a screen 3d in front of you with an immersive experience, maybe. And last I checked there were a SLEW of apps besides YouTube, sooooo....

Wow! After all these years, we can finally watch endless crappy, annoying, low effort ads on our very expensive headsets!

What a time to be alive!
Many of them seem to put in significant effort to be hypocritical greedy scum… I mean, advertisers… I mean, influencers… I mean, advocates for consumers…

😉 🙁 😡
