Ok good. Now please.... PLEASE give us a standalone YouTube TV app! The Safari version is one massive bug nest. Interface is screwy, closed captions have been broken for over a year, and live sporting events ALWAYS brake in live, even if you click "start from the beginning."

Why would one app’s availability define a device’s entire use? That’s like saying $1,000 to watch YouTube is crazy for an iPhone, or $5,000 to watch YouTube is crazy for a Mac Pro — that’s just one of the many things you can use those devices for.
Because people don’t use their brains when they type.

Wow! After all these years, we can finally watch endless crappy, annoying, low effort ads on our very expensive headsets!

What a time to be alive!

Just came here to ask if it supported downloads as I could not find it. Why would you not support downloads on THIS device. Literally, allowing their iPad app to be run on it would've been more useful (granted, no support for immersive video in it but come on).

You do realise you can watch YouTube just fine on Vision Pro without a native app? Safari even separates the elements out into 3D space so it looks like the native quest YouTube app.
I’m sure it functions perfectly well for basic viewing, yes. It’s hardly the ideal experience, though, to open a web browser in your $3500 headset in order to get to YouTube. And I assume it didn’t support 3D/360° videos very well, if at all.

The reason I was waiting for an official app was to hopefully be able to download videos, and they don't allow that in the new app (yet?) so it's kind of pointless...

Weird, i cannot find it on the Vision's app store. Did they limit it to the US maybe?
At least in the German one it's nowhere to be found…

Update: it appeared now, just very far down the list. Weird it's not the first result when you search for "Youtube" 😅

I just watched a youtube video where someone watched a 3D videos with the new youtube app on Apple Vision Pro. Are you saying that these videos are not actually in 3D? Is it possible to watch Spatial Videos on YouTube? Is there a way to upload Spatial Videos from the Apple Vision Pro to the new youtube app? I just tried that on my iphone 15 pro but it just showed the video in 2D not stereoscopic. I wonder if there will ever be a standard that all VR headsets can work with?

Spatial video is not the same as VR content.

Three separate things:
- 2D content
- 3D / Spatial content
- VR content

Example VR:

3d videos are on a big screen but normal YouTube videos dont allow you to max out the screen like cinema mode
