I had the older Zagg product on both my iPhone and iPad 2. I was happy with it, but it did have that slight textured "orange peel" look to it. But, in the original's defense, when I finally peeled it all off to send my iPad 2 in to Amazon trade in, my iPad looked as good as the day I bought it.
Now I have the new iPad. I got the old style full body, but put the HD screen on this time. I got it installed at the store. (Headquarters actually, the company is based here in SLC). They said watch out for bubbles, but they would go away. I'll admit for the first 24-48 hours it looked TERRIBLE. Bubbles, etc.. But, I heeded their words and didn't use my iPad during that time. After a few days, sure enough, everything cleared up and the new HD screen looks amazing. No orange peel look or feel. It's crystal clear and looks like the original glass. There is one tiny spec of dust under it. I mentioned it when they installed the screen on my parents iPad a few days ago and they said "Bring it in and we will gladly replace it free". Now I don't really notice it anymore, but it's nice to know I have that option. I have a normal case on my iPad also, and it's nice to know when I eventually take it out of the case to sell or trade in there won't be any micro scratches on it. Amazon actually gave me MORE then they said they would for the trade in of my iPad 2 that had the Zagg product on it all last year.
I think going forward I'll continue to use the Zagg stuff on my iPhones and iPad's as a base layer and keep a nice case on it also.
While I was there I swapped out my old iPhone zagg cover for a fresh one (free, but $10 to re-install the new one. Yay lifetime warranty!) When I peeled that off the iPhone 4 that's almost 2 years old it still looks good as new. I wish I had upgraded my screen for that one to the HD version. I also have one of the free cases Apple offered for the 4 back during Antennagate on it in addition to the Zagg.
I have been told everything that you've said and I agree. I expect bubbles & stuff...however, this "wood grain" look is weird and is BAD. This doesn't look like liquid that will dry. It's almost "prismatic." Rainbow colors as I look over the screen. First one didn't do this...
I installed it myself at 5:00pm yesterday, I've done before and everything went well. However with it being 11hrs later, should I not see air bubbles disappearing? Or would it take a few days? I would like to take back sooner than later if something is wrong since it's from Best Buy and I paid $35 for just the front cover. Minor bubbles or air pockets I expect to disappear but there's one spot it seems almost small pebble was under there, definently not flat and smooth.. Please help going to try calling zagg too

I called best buy geek squad and they said all micro bubbles work out within 1 day with the new screen, ive decided to wait it out a few days and see if it disappears. However turning on the phone, the one bubble that bothers me almost looks like dirt or dust or something trapped underneath. Anyone know if you can lift the protector up halfway, clean the spot with scotch tape and then re-apply with some remaining liquid? I have almost half a bottle of the solution they provided left after washing my hands with it and using it to apply the first time. I won't risk lifting it to clean if it won't re-stick down

It literally feels like a bump under the protector, unlike water bubbles still remain smooth on the screen
I'm on the iPad 2
Is it worth removing the old zagg and buying this new HD?
The old zagg has no scratches or anything
Ok...had to come back and update...
I went back to Best Buy today and had them install a new IS HD...it looks AWESOME. Must've had a "bad" one. It now looks like there's NOTHING on my iPad screen. There are a few micro-bubbles from the install, but they will go away in the next 24-48 hours. I pointed out a couple dust specks that got under the screen before I left, she pulled the IS up, got the specks out and it's pretty pristine. Can't say enough about letting BB install for you. If they screw it up, they simply open a new IS and install that one. If you don't like it for just about any reason over the first 30 days, you take it back in and they install a new one for you. I've attached a couple pics for you.
VERY PLEASED!!! Have one on both my iPad 3 and my iPhone 4S.
+10 for the old english D!!! Go Tigs!
While I'm waiting the day or two for the micro bubbles to work out is it better to have device on or off? I've left it off for now but it's been 14hrs since I applied
