Is the Power Support available for order for the 3G? In case I don't like IS on the front.

I'd like to know this as well. There is nothing on their website about the 3G.

I'm aware that the overall size of the iPhone has changed very slightly, but perhaps the screen is unaltered and therefore exactly the same. Anyone know?

For those that have use the PS, how resistant to scratches is it?

You may get the odd mark on the screen protector in time but the actual screen remains fully protected and unmarked. The screen protectors come in packs of two and are reasonably priced so it's not the end of the world to put a new one on after a few months.

I cannot recommend them highly enough!

I used my IS for months on iphone 2g and while off it does show a orange dimpling the screen protector is amazingly resilliant. I had a 2nd one sent to me because first had a huge crease in it and I tried with the defective one using keys to rip into it or tare it and it just didn't.

It's a fantastic product and with screen on I had no issues.

That is the reason I don't want one. Makes the screen look awful! Looks pretty bad round edges too. I'm still slightly tempted, but considering I've had my iPod touch in my jeans since launch and its not got a scratch on its front at all and only very minor back scratches, I don't really see much need. (I keep it in a felt lined custom made pouch inside the pocket)
That photo seems to be custom-taken to show the IS. I have one on my ipod, and while it's visible when the screen is off (like in that photo), when the screen is on, the film is almost completely invisible.

can anyone install the IS on the back portion of the iphone 3g for me? I live in San Francisco, CA.

i'd do it, but i know for sure you arent mailing your brand new iphone to some stranger in CT... ;)

seriously, if you follow the instructions/watch the videos it's really easy.

it is very easy. the directions are very easy to follow and if you mess up you can take it off and reapply. once it looks goof you leave it to dry.

its actually REALLY EASY. and i hate doing stuff like this! granted i only put one on a watch today it was my first experience with the invisible shield.

here's some tips, when you peel it off, try really really hard not to get fingerprints on it, they DO NOT COME OFF! remember which side is the "sticky side" DO use the spray,it lets you slide the shield around to position it right. if you mess up and get fluff or something on it, WASH IT! i ust rinsed it under warm water with a little bit of dish washing liquid and it came out perfect. still a tiny fingerprint on it, but hey!

spray the shield. pop it on and move it to the ideal place, then take a hair dryer and warm the shield in the product to dry off the spray, dont let it get too hot if your doing it on electrical items! and keep sliding it or pressing it down to get air bubbles out. then leave it! leave it for an hour or so with out touching it.....and the rest of the spray dries out and it sticks!

i know it sounds like i work for zagg from that post but its just my experience from today! obv if anyone else has any tips please share them!!!

my next installation will be on my macbook when it arrives, then my iPhone 3G!

on another note, sliding my finger accross the shield on my watch now, i cant see it making to touch screen unresponsive or sticky in any way, its as smooth as the glass on my watch!

I am just worried about the corners peeling off... Also, if I order today, will I be able to get it before the 11th?

im worried about that too, but hey, live and learn. if that happens from what i have heard zagg are great at giving refunds. it has a lifetime guarantee also.

you prob wont get it before the 11th now, they started shipping them on the 27th,see earlier posts...

but you can try!

that is why there is a lifetime guarantee. also i dont think they will be shipping until the 7th, or sometime that week. so you may want to contact zagg and ask them if you will have the product in time for the 11th.

Do they sell anything at the apple stores that are similar to protect the screen and back?

not that i know of. I haven't seen any clear films at the Apple Store that protect the back as well. they have the clear film that is smooth, I can't remember the brand, but comes two in a pack. This is only a screen protector I have seen though.
They do have standard type phone cases which will give you full body protection but aren't as inconspicuous as the BSE or IS.

I am going to wait for the Best Skin Ever. I'm sorry but I can't justify spending 20.00 on this stuff when I can get it at BSE for like what....6 bucks?

Anyway, on my Ipod Touch I used the BSE and liked it, however with my Iphone 3g I plan on using the crystal type films for the front. The IS and BSE do taint the image quality a bit and I really am kind of sick of that sort of grainy look? I don't know, it's just not as clear as a naked screen. The crystal screens don't have this negative effect on IQ.

I am probably still getting a silicon case, since this is going to be my phone now and used a lot more than my Ipod Touch.

I loved my BSE case. I would have gone that route but:
1) they are not available now and I want protection from day one
2) the lifetime guarantee was a nice touch

both of those are worth the extra money.

Ahh screw it. I just ordered an IS, hope it comes soon. I went with free shipping though...

I'm going to hold out for fullbodyfilms to make a 3G one. They use the powersupport front and the one of the stronger backs 9NLU) together in a cheaper (compared to buying both) single package. Seem to come well recommended by people here and iLounge. Just no mention of 3G iPhone yet.

The emailed me to say they will likely ship in a week or so of release as they had to do QC on them on the real phone first. They said it maybe about 50c more than the original and would ship to UK.

I wish we could see photos of comparisons of the back piece.

My concern is how each company cuts them. How far the skin extends up the bezel/cover it. I've seen photos where the skin covers only 1/2 the bezel, etc.
I also fear being an early adopter and fear they'll need a tweak or 2.

Make no mistake about it, installing any type of film on the back of this device WILL be harder than on the mostly flat back of the original. Curves and film don't work well together.

Curves aren't that hard. I installed one on my PSP which is curvy and once the material gets sticky, it stays right down. They cut it to accomodate but I don't imagine the Iphones slight curve on back being an issue.

Has anyone called and talked to these people to glean anything about the 3g skin - i.e.; how is the bezel going to be handled. I'm seeing pics and see the bezel as installed, has seams. The last place I want seams (from pieces) is on the bezel. Either the back needs to wrap up to cover it, or a separate piece for it.

Anyone know exactly how this thing will be die cut?
