ZAGG shipping iPhone 3G invisibleSHIELD...

Yea but the back piece on the 1st gen doesn't wrap the bezel at the top/bottom and there's tiny separate bezel only pieces instead. At least according to their pic.

The fewer pieces the better, especially small strips, because it is the edges that are liable to pick up pocket lint, and those narrow bezel pieces are the worst potential offenders.

How I wish that Apple would make scratch-resistant products. :eek:
 
ahh the hesitation to order for the fear of not receiving it before the 11th!

agreed, that is one of my biggest complaints, is the lint the product picks up around the edges, especially during the first few weeks.

Hmmm...Going cancel my order for that. Saying you're going to start shipping the week of July 7th and then switching it to significantly later (July 25th for my July 8th order) the day the product is launched is lame.

Going to go with Bodyguardz...it got a better review anyway.
 
Ordered BodyGuardz last night after posting that. Just got a FedEx tracking number that is active in the FedEx System.

Estimated Delivery Date: Jul 15, 2008 by 7:00 PM (2 day shipping option)

Also got a response from Zagg about my cancellation...that will take 3-5 business days.

Not one regret in the decision I made.
 
I had ordered an Invisible Shield but since it hadn't been shipped and the shipping got moved back so long I cancelled it.

I read some more reviews and found out about BodyGuardz and decided to look them up. Their iPhone 3G full body cover lists for $24.95 and includes 2 backs and 2 screen covers. The item says it "Usually ships within 24 hours." Not only was this better than Invisible Shield but I also looked online and found someone that had listed the coupon code "utah" yesterday online. Someone from bodyguardz.com supposedly handed him a card while waiting on his iPhone 3G and told him that "utah" was good for $10 off. Sure enough this worked and I got it down to $14.95 but decided to go for the $5.30 Priority Mail flat rate shipping instead of the free shipping option. ( I live in Kentucky but "utah" still worked for me so it shouldn't be state dependent. )

This is DEFINITELY the best deal as far as shields go as BodyGuardz also provides lifetime replacements. I'll probably end up selling the extra shield set on eBay anyways. I don't know how long "utah" will last but I'd definitely check this out fast.

Also, a good review of BodyGuardz is over at ilounge.com at http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/comments/nlu-products-debuts-bodyguardz-for-iphone-3g/ which also compares BestSkinsEver and Invisible Shield. Guess who wins? BodyGuardz.

Got mine (backs only) today. Haven't even opened the pkg. I ordered July 2 with free ship.
 
I got an invisible shield full cover from Carphone Warehouse delivered with my phone today. I put it onto the phone before I did anything else and promptly took it off a couple of hours later: IMO it looks horrible. I didn't have any bubbles or other nasties in it, but the shield was really visible on the back of the phone as it affects the "Shininess" of the back to a pretty large degree . I'm sure other people won't mind at all, but it wasn't for me. Running naked now until I decide what to do, and being really nervous about scratching the plastic back!
 
Phil A. - Do you have the black or white iPhone 3G? I was going to get the black but I saw unboxing pictures with the plastic on and the white seemed to look a lot better than the black. Much less apparent.

Black - it was all I could get. I agree that it would probably be less apparent on the white one. It actually ended up looking very similar to the protective film that covers the iPhone when it's delivered (i.e. terrible!)
 
Does anyone have any pictures of the iPhone 3G Black with the invisible shield, or any other films on the back? Thanks
