I was wondering if you could post up a picture of the invisible shield on the black iphone 3g as well.

I sent an email to zagg to cancel my order and placed my order for the bodyguardz instead. Paid for a 2 day priority mail. So the price came out to be the same as zagg except I get two.

I was hoping to receive the shield before I got my phone. I guess I'll have to leave the original plastic on a little longer and put it in a pouch until I get my body shield.

Just cancelled my IS order as well after continued delays. The final straw was when I went into CPW to buy a case yesterday and THEY even had the IS in stock. So there's no excuse for Zagg not getting these to actual customers who *pre* ordered!

Probably going to go for the Bodyguardz one instead. Does anyone else have a discount code for them as the 'utah' code doesn't seem to work (maybe it's not valid on international orders?)

Thanks,

Tom

I registered just to try and help you guys out. Me and my friend are trying to start a Tech review/news webpage. Definitely going to need a much better camera! So this is the best I can do for now.

The shield has been on since Friday. There are many bubbles that I missed and can't get out. Compared to the old InvisibleShields, it was a pain in the ass to get on. Usually when you put an InvisibleShield product on, you are able to maneuver it a little bit. This one had no maneuverability at all. I had to place it perfectly the first time. Also I should mention that the flash shows things you cannot see with the naked eye. I can't see any of those dust particles and the bubbles are pretty hard to see. If I put the product on better and took an extra 20 minutes to make sure all the bubbles were out, it would of came out much better.

Thanks, it actually doesn't look as bad as I thought. I canceled my order though and placed an order for the bodyguardz.

I don't like how it fits around the home button. Do your finger prints show on the back as much as they do without the shield?

It looks like the corners are better covered/protected than the old one?

But again - it doesn't seem to go up to the rim of the bezel. Seems to go up about 1/2-way? Why can't these companies.

I'm sure if you used more solution (one must use a ton), it would've slid around better. It's the key. So how does it look on the black though? It's hard to get a general vibe from the bright flash, etc. Nice and shiney? And am I right that the bezel is only covered about 1/2 way up?

I keep wondering if the skin would look better on white or black and which would show edge dirt more (probably white?)

Finger prints are why I love the screen protector. They are much harder to see and wipe off much easier. If my hands are dry I can wipe off a fingerprint with my finger. The surface is very smooth and I really like the feel of it. For my old iPhone I eventually peeled off the back and kept the screen on. Then for the back I used one of those plastic snap-on cases.

It seems like they were a bit off with their measurements, which is why the home button is misaligned. I had to stretch it a bit to get some more even coverage on the sides. The home button is correctly cut out. I think I might buy another and try again.

The sides are much better than the original iPhone's shield. Also I used a TON of solution. I had a small pool going on and I still couldn't get it to slide around.

Dethklok - first, thanks for posting the pics. 2nd, can you better address how far up the shield goes on the chrome bezel? That's my sticking point. Your pick seems to show about 1/2 way up? Yes? Or more? I know it shouldn't go 100% cuz then there might be a lip to catch but I was hopeing for 80-90% up.
Any fears of exposed chrome scratching? Or is it pretty good coverage there in your opinion? And did you push/stretch it tight to get the bezel covered? I know they can stretch a bit.

Was shopping today and saw them in CPW so annyed as I order mne on the 12th of JUNE and i'm still waiitng.
So I bought one and will try to cancel/re-sell my other.

Just finished applying it...oh my god.
Nightmare! I've installed ISs on my iPod, my iPhone 2g, my nano and countless camera/gadgets and had some but minor trouble.

This thing was actually quite difficult.
the cut from the original is slightly different, gone are the little dots for the back corners, replaced by neater tabs....if you can get them to line up!
I was palming them for ages, in total, front and back took me about 80 minutes.

Main issues I have are -

The bezel is no longer covered....whats up with tha? the most scratch prone section is not covered!
yes theres a flap for the bottom bezel and the back covers up about half of the sides but that's it!

The tabs - they sometimes overlap leaving thick mucky looking covering, might be me but it was impossible to get them to set.

The front - it seems too small! the ring around the home button is huge!

Not overly impressed AT all. shall see how it dries.

What is with these shield manufacturers not understanding we want the bezel covered?!

Is there any way you can take some more pics of the invisible shield on your 3G? Those pics were a nice start but it'd be great if you could use a slightly better camera which can properly focus on the edges of the skin. It's hard to tell with the ones you posted.

But again thanks for posting this will be very helpful, mine is coming via UPS on thursday. Any tips beyond what Zagg has posted on their site would be awesome!

EDIT: This is directed to the OP, Dethklok...thanks

No, the bezel is not fully covered. It could be with alot of stretching. maybe not. The main part does not cover the chrome on the bottom at all, but they included a separate piece to do just that.

Looking at it now, I have one side of the chrome 90% covered, but the other side is only 10% covered. So no idea if I put it on wrong, or if the chrome is supposed to be unprotected.

mine is exactly the same!

mine is exactly the same!
I am having reception and 3G speed problems. I will have to return it for another. I think for my replacement I am going to try the Bodyguardz. I'll post which I think is better.

Do I have to call up the Apple Store and make an appointment or can I just walk in and explain and do the exchange? Thanks.

I think it would be better to arrange an app with the genius bar.
plus that way they can put a phone to one side to ensure stock

I have the Invisible Shield here and I'm not seeing how it'll cover 50% of the bezel sides. I ordered BodyGuardz and Best Skins Ever just now so I'm going to compare all these darned things and pick one.

Awesome, looking forward to your post.

That video makes it look awesome. Too bad everyone is saying otherwise. I think I'm going to apply the back, if I really like it I'll go ahead with the front. If not, I'll pick up a set of Power Support films.
The front is awesome. It's the back that has the problem.
