Wonder how much Zuckerberg was paid to say this:
Android is growing quickly, and we're excited that the platform is open and that it allows us to build these great experiences. I think that this is really good for Google too. Something like this could encourage a lot of people to get Android phones, because I think people really care about Facebook. In a lot of ways, this is one of the best Facebook experiences that you can get. Of course, a lot of people also love iPhones--I love mine, and I would like to be able to deliver Facebook Home there as well.

Zuckerberg is crazy if he thinks people really care about "Facebook". I'm sure Tom Anderson at one point thought people cared about MySpace. They clearly didn't.

People don't care about social networks. . .they care about other people. If people start migrating away from Facebook in droves, Zuckerberg will find out just how much society "cares" about his baby.

What did you expect him to say? "iOS is a much better experience than Android, however you should buy an Android phone so you can download our new app."

If Android offered a reliable and hassle-free media conversion feature and its interface was simple like iOS then maybe I would consider changing.

There is one, it's called Double Twist. Works connected or wirelessly.

That's what I use when I switch to Android from iPhone for my purchased music.

Good to see Android gaining more unstoppable power. People can bitch and whine on this forum but a hell of a lot people use Facebook and will buy phones specially for it. I know its the app I use the most on my Nexus 4.

while it maybe more open, it's still not a better experience than iPhone

In YOUR opinion. I have been using a Nexus 4 for a few months now and have to say it IS the best phone I have ever used. I have all the same apps that I use on my 4S and they are identical in every way, no change in quality.

I like that I can use any dialer, any SMS app and they all have access to the same messages that the default has, and that I can side load any app or add music or ringtones using Wifi and not having to be tied to iTunes.

There is one thing my iPhone still does better, and that is with playing music. I love the iPod and have found nothing on Android that touches it.

Yikes !!!

A real bad idea , enough of FCK, geeezzzz , the iPhone has a way to notify about what your friends are doing, but I turned it off , I think this social trend is becoming invasive , boring at times and annoying . It will be for the young and very immersed in the social universe . I pass;)

Zuckerberg is a sociopath. Android and Facebook combine to make a great tracking device. Facebook Home is a privacy nightmare.

What a joke. Facebook's business model is downright creepy. Effective maybe... but creepy.

Word's cannot express the immensity of the **** I do not give about this. I've never looked at my phone and thought "gosh I wish the Facebook app was open all the time."

If you don't give a f then just don't get it

does anyone actually switch??
i know i'm ios4lyfe. i got far too much money in apps to even think about switching. not that i'd want to. i love my iMac, i love my ipad mini thats using my 55" samsung 3d tv as a monitor, i love my iPhone, my ipad and all my iPods going back to a 1st gen that still works ad a ipod color that has been running nonstop hook to a radio in my bathroom for at least 6 years now. i just turn of the radio but never the iPod. now that's reliability!! i do occasionally stop it just to plug it in to my imac to add/update the music.

andriod people can talk all they want but there are WAY more quality apps for the iPad and iphone specifically.

Reality check. After seeing both of these systems in operation for a while it appears that NOT having an open system creates a better experience.

Sheesh, when you hear some of these people speak you wonder if you are living in the same world.

You know the problem with people on this forum I notice is that they state their opinion as a fact.

Mobile experience is all subjective

have you tried PowerAmp? love the 10 band EQ along with the separate tone controls and virtualizer. some roms will even let you control playback via the volume buttons without having to turn the screen on.

... Google has this opportunity in the next year or two to start doing the things that are way better than what can be done on iPhone ...

Exactly what Android phanboiz have been saying all along.
"Just wait until next year, or the year after, or whenever."

[crickets...]

We're still waiting.

I'm running 6.1.2 / iPhone and I don't have a VPN button in the main settings screen.

Maybe you dont have any von setup ? it will only show up in the main settings page if you have an account setup.
