Apple charges what the market will pay. In other words, another business doing what successful businesses with good products do. Facebook will sell at a loss because their products suck. I know more and more people who don’t use Facebook or Instagram. If Zuck wasn’t such a clown running a business built on invasion of privacy policies maybe he too could sell products the way Apple does.

So admits he is trying to monopolize the market by dumping the HW…..

Mkay, hope everyone takes notice and remembers when it is Metas time to be broken up.

As much as I agree with Tim Cook that Metaverse is really undefinable at this point (and still not interesting/mature enough to care about it), the Zuck Zuck has a point. He is willing to bet everything for this project to take off, and it is hard not to respect that regardless of your stance.

Apple is just an investor-driven money machine that will sell you the same hardware and design for as long as possible. This is why I think many people miss Steve who knew money followed innovation and calculated risk, not just blatantly repeating yourself. To sum it up? Zuck Zuck has a point t.
Unless you want Apple to become google/Facebook then we will have to actually continue paying for their hardware. I mean its how they make their money. Of course you knew that. You just wanted to take a shot at Apple because you feel you need some earth shattering changes every single year. You know what you do not have to do. You do not have to buy a new iPhone every year just because they release one.

I still don’t believe in the future of VR… but if there is one, Apple‘s VR headset with it’s integrated software will absolutely CRUSH Zuck’s Meta. Fact.

At this point Zuck will have to step aside as the face of the company, everything he says is a lie. Renaming the company didn't do enough in terms of damage control.

There is no profit loss when you monetize the customer base.

I hear there's a bug in the OS for these that sends all of the data gathered back to their servers for perpetual storage. But they are working on a future fix for for that and promise not to misuse the data.

If you have been using Apple products long enough, you would have remembered a time when Apple would highlight products that were not new, such as iPhone 4S. Those days are gone and they just up the number to sell people the same product because the battery is impossible to change. I don't know why you are protecting capitalism this aggressively.

Zuck is making more $ selling all of your data Apple isn’t. Everyone knows that or at least they should
More & more people are quitting facebook… er meta. Their stock has plummeted. Meanwhile Apple & other devices are also giving people the option to deny facebook the option to stop Zuckerberg from tracking you or selling your info. Lastly, Apple products & services are selling better than ever with no sign of slowing down.

It's true. It's why Apple lost in the TV streaming stick market and in the smart speakers market. Other companies were willing to sell at break even or low margins or even at a loss in order to make money through other ways.

It'll be tough for Apple to win in the VR market unless its devices are significantly superior.
Apple’s ecosystem is the selling feature with all their products IMO. So if there is a VR headset you can bet it’ll be super smooth to pair with stuff and use.

Yes, I would love to buy Facebook's hardware filled with cameras and sensors.

That and driving nails through my eyes.
Five seconds after putting on the Quest Pro headset:

Clippy pops up in your field of vision - "Hey! I see you are using a Meta product! Would like a hammer and some nails to drive into your eyes?"

Disclaimer: I know, I know, Microsoft wouldn't allow Clippy to be associated with Meta - even they have standards when it comes to Clippy.

Keep selling at a loss Zucks.

Here’s your last user in 2027…

And Suckerberg is just figuring this out? Traditionally, Apple IS a hardware company with software being a supporting commodity for future hardware sales. When was the last (or first) time you paid for an IOS update or even updates to premium software such as FCPX to utilize the new capabilities in new hardware that Apple develops and sells. By contrast, Microsoft is traditionally a software/network company that relies on developers for hardware. Their profits are based on upgrades to software programs - pay for each new version of Windows, Office, etc. Upgraded operating systems not only drive Microsoft's profits, but their partners who develop hardware utilizing the new strengths of the new software version.

The key question is...whose privacy/tracking and ad generator policy do you trust - Apple or Meta. Suckerber is raising the hardware focus to distract from the reality.

Ok. So why Apple is able to win in phones, tablets, watches, headphones, and computers?
