Spoken like a brat who doesn't comprehend the under-the-hood improvements already made in just under 2 years, both at the hardware and software levels.
You'll bitch when their advanced R&D from PA Semi arrives and it doesn't scan the vital life signs of external heat sources through it's camera.
Surprisingly the zuneHD looks nice.
The iPhone and Touch need a UI update urgently. Seriously the new pin striped icons in 3.0 are disgusting and some elements are looking so outdated. Here's hoping to 4.0

If it's considerably cheaper, if I don't get an iPhone, and if Microsoft would finally release Mac software, I might sell my iPod Touch to buy this new Zune. You're almost there Microsoft. Make me do it...I dare ya!
TO APPLE: please listen to what your customers (AKA cash flow) want. How flippin hard is it to put a radio tuner (or HD radio in microsofts case) in an iPod?! I never, ever thought I'd say this, but... Kudo's to microsoft
That actually isn't bad, but iPhone/iTouch has iTunes and the App Store, something that will take a long time for anyone to match. Nice try Zune

Lol im sure everyone is just clamoring for an FM tuner on the top of their lists.
"Stunning hardware". Fine. So Apple is finally a half generation behind on hardware. It is well ahead in software, ecosystem, accessories, sale points, online access, wireless access, battery life, and of course development path.
Zune is late to market and a laggard.

Personally I think the iPod touch look worlds better (the exposed screws just don't do it for me) and the animations, while cool seem really gimmicky. Also, it really bothers me that the word "marketplace" doesn't fit entirely on the screen.
But it does show some promise, and competition is always good for the consumer.

Apple has chosen to live in their own proprietary environment. It will never happen. Steve doesn't like to play with the other kids.
That is why Android and not Pre or Apple will win the Mobile and Netbook platform.
Cupcake (Android 1.5) is out and it rocks.
Apple has Mobile Me and iTunes plus over priced hardware.
Looks nice. The animations are FAST!. Oh and boo hoo with the little delay in loading the Radio app; not like my iPhone's SMS app loads instantly either (far from it...)

That's because you can remove the battery and do your own replacements.
Steve will charge you $99 for the less Genius Bar and $200 for the battery for your $249 Touch.

Did you notice how many times the guy pressed on parts which he wanted to activate and it didn't do squat? Not on the same part though, pressing around the UI.
I'm not convinced and further more, it's a ZUNE, the entire UI doesn't do it for me. The iPod Touch and iPhone has a very logical and user friendly layout. For ME it's perfect. All I want in the new iPhone or iPod Touch is FASTER UI and no lags. That's all... keep the apps, the layout etc. It's just the way I want it.
Zune might look good for someone who's got neither, but I'm an Apple person and maybe I'm bias, but the iPhone OS works best for me.
However I do welcome the competition, something Apple is in dire need of. Not just on this, I'd rather see them do something on their computers, especially MacMini and MacPros.
For years we've been asking for a Mid sized MacProMini. Tablet?
Will Steve come back, last thing I heard was that he's not even going to host the event coming next month! AND he won't be back on the date he said he would. Is he dying or does anyone have any recent photos of the man?
Sorry but if Steve's gone, we'll have idiotic stuff like the new ipod Shuffle which is practically useless... I'm still pissed about Apple taking out the remote controls in their pro models. Thanks a yahoo!

the way the header categories get all zoomy until they just barely show at the top of the screen... is freaking stupid. seriously. that alone makes this UI suspect.
