Well, I don't totally disagree, ads really annoy me - but if everyone blocked them many site (this one probably?) just wouldn't have the income to sustain themselves.
I agree that website operators have a conundrum, however that is their problem to resolve.

I can make security my top priority when I use the Internet and my position is unassailable.

Perhaps if enough people blocked ads, site operators would take serious steps in eradicating these threats.

However, I am not waiting for them. I will take this matter into my own hands since my online safety is my responsibility.

Excellent. I am now upgrading to iOS 4.2 in my iPad (even though I don't need it for development).

Finally! Looks like 4.2 brings direct brightness control, no more going to Settings. I wonder if it's iPad only or iPhone too?

So are we to assume that 10.6.5 will be released around the same time if not earlier to allow Airprint to work correctly with iOS4.2?

I think site operators DO take it seriously, when my site was compromised I voluntarily took it offline within minutes, but by then Google had already put up a warning to anyone who found it through their search.

An ad blocker wouldn't have protected you at all, but it was antivirus software that helped me find and remove the infection. Antivirus software is (unsurprisingly) a very important tool for anyone online these days.

Word is that the screen lock button on the side of the iPad now acts as a mute button like on the iPhone. Probably better as I found that I need to mute the iPad more often then I need to lock it's orientation, which I rarely if ever have to do.

Why is there an orientation lock at the bottom right corner? Does the orientation lock switch work or did that turn into the mute switch?

I think that is a highly logical assumption. 10.6.5 will almost certainly be out before or on the same day as iOS4.2.

Hmm, I personally preferred it as an orientation lock on iPad. Guess it's not too bad having to just double press the home button to get to the lock switch.

I'm not a fan of having to erase and restore everything though, regular software updates are fare more convenient :(

Has anyone gotten AirPlay or the wireless printing to work? I can't even find references to it in 4.2 on my iPad. I've got Pages, etc and plenty of media...

So you're saying that the switch on the side of the iPad does the same thing as the iPhone's? And I have to double click home> tap orientation lock to lock the orientation? That sucks..

All a matter of preference. You say it sucks, I say it rocks. :D
