cat motif seriously played out; os revisions also a bit played out.
i like osX, but i use windows xp on my 17" mbp. there is really nothing
interesting in windows 7 or snow leapard

I hope you enjoy your 2001-era user experience!

I'd be glad with a new, smaller MacBook Air.

My fantasy machine is now (thanks to some of your posts earlier in this thread!) a hybrid netbook/iPad Pro, with a flip screen. OS X when in netbook position. iOS when in tablet position. Flips over to close. It could happen -- and it works with the logo!

Too bad for my credit card either way.

Ick. I hate Expose and Dashboard, I wish there were a way to completely disable and remove them forever. At least an option for crying out loud.
You can disable Dashboard using Onyx (etc) or the terminal..

Not sure about Expose though.. Surely just not having any shortcuts for it would achieve the same? You're the first time I've seen someone hate exposé!

My thoughts exactly. We get another 2 years starting now os OSX and bam 11 comes out. Probably a fusion hybrid of OSX and iOS incorporating the first touch features on desktops.

OS X + iOS -> OS XI (11). Or maybe OS Xi.

I think not, tho.
Will check into the hint about disabling dashboard. Hate expose because it happens so often accidentally, and never on purpose.

They really need to make a MacPad Air. Instant win. Might be a little heavy for the wimpies, but getting rid of the keyboard and part of the case will make it even lighter than the current laptop form.

Back to the Mac! Maybe a return to the type of computer Apple used to offer. Something for the home that offers some expandability without being too costly or too huge.

Mini Tower? Please! That would bring former users who have given up on Apple,
"Back to the Mac!"

It would let me replace my older Mac with a product I really want.

It would show that Apple listens to its customers.

Instead of Apple telling people what they want it would be Apple building what the customers have been asking for.

New notebooks?

Ah what timing. The 12" PowerBook G4 is seriously on its last leg. (Didn't help that it fell out of the bag onto the pavement either haha)

C'mon Apple, you know you have to use the name Cougar eventually...

I feel you on the pb12"... mine from 2003 still chugging. However... wtf, MacRumors? Was I just dreaming about Apple releasing new MBP and MB earlier this year? Has their hw update schedule quadrupled in speed? The Air was the only one not refreshed... and with that.... thing... Apple totally missed the point of netbook (low power, low cost).

Also, OS X 10.1 was Puma. Pumas are Cougars are Mountain Lions (and also Panthers, but Panthers can be other things too... but Cougars are always Pumas).

Whatever the preview of upcoming OS 10.7 or 11 Lion, whatever the iwork or ilife updates, whatever the Air actually gets, I just want Jobs to say "oh and one more thing" before revealing the Air.

I will be looking for a slightly smaller manilla envelope on his podium.

Scroll Bars

They're redoing the scroll bars in all native Apple software to behave much more like the scroll bars found on the iOS, I've only seen a brief glimpse, but the scroll bars disappear when they aren't in use and look a lot like the scroll bars found in iOS Safari.

Given their growth in Mac sales under Jobs, I'd say that Apple has a pretty fair idea about what people actually want.

The mini-tower isn't happening. Get a mini if you want headless, and a Mac Pro if you want to muck around with cards that Apple will never write drivers for.

Macbook Air

I really do hope that the MacBook Air is thrown into its grave next Wednesday, it had one USB which fit nothing cause of the round base, it was the least durable thing on this earth and it couldn't pull the skin of a rice pudding in performance either. I hope Back To The Mac is something such as back to making decent computers again such as the 12 inch PowerBook. Something that people want not what Apple think people want

Oh yeah, people want a 1.33 Ghz processor, 256 Mb Ram, and a 60 GB harddrive
Edit: it did have 2 USB ports though!
