So far I'm happy with mine although it has a blemish under the screen so will need to be swapped.
However never having an iphone before I'm already missing a couple of mini-features:

1) No idea whether a message is sending or not without staying in the app i.e. no status icon for this
2)No way to turn on MMS receipts (I understand I can't get SMS receipts on O2) unless I'm mistaken?
3)No way to get rid of keyboard without going out and back in a screen. Really annoying for landscape.

And spring board has crashed on me three times already with some standard screens opening and then immediately closing. Entering passwords in the mail settings both A and S are missing on my keyboard - although they are there is you press them.

WOW! This thing is like a rocket compared to my 2g. So far very pleased. my only issue is on the right side the chrome bezel is raised enough so that when i swipe across you can really feel it raised. I guess if it starts to bother me ill swap it out. But so far the screen looks great and it took me 3 phones on my original to get a screen that did not have issues, ex. light leak...dead pixels and such, so not sure if i want to risk a swap and get a bad screen?

mine is exactly the same. my case soon covered it up though.

Waiting for iPhone 3G S. Heard a delivery truck pull up. Calastoga water delivery. Killed delivery person. Need help getting rid of body.

Same here re: raised edge on the right of the phone. But holy cow, going from 1st Gen iPhone to the 3GS - fast. Really, really fast.

The chrome bezel i think is a carry over from design/manufacturing problems from 3g .... My friend's 3G iphone (actually at least 3 of the phones he's had ... warranty replacements) has had that problem. Mine had a slight problem with it. Anyways that's slightly OT - :) Good luck on your iPhone 3gS's!

Mine landed in Connecticut around 7:00 am and was delivered at 9:30. Definitely faster side by side with my 3G. A couple of minor nicks in the inside of the bezel but everything else seems fine. One thing I have noticed is that while the new screen is better with fingerprints it definitely attracts more dust, which is harder to wipe off.

Docks

I have two docking devices, one attached to my iMac and one used exclusively for charging. The new 3G S does not fit in either dock. That is my only issue. The iPhone works perfectly, but does anyone else have this problem?

Another thing I'm enjoying (coming from original) the the way the back has a better (tackier i guess I'd say) feel to it. Does not feel like its going to slip out of my hand as easy as the orig. That original was one slippery sob!

It doesn't fit ? That IS a concern, since I have a dock too and was assuming it would fit. I won't be able to know until I get home.

What size was your 3G and what size is your 3GS ?

I had a 16gb 3G and am getting a 16GB 3GS

I am getting very antsy sitting here reading all this. My fedex guy usually show up around noon/1:00pm so it shouldnt be long now! :D

Anyone getting randomly missing letters on the keyboard?

And is it normal to not be able to add a picture from the email compose window?!

sits in my speaker dock nicely. just wish the bloody thing would stop telling me it wasn't made for the iphone!! been annoying me for 0ver 6 months now.

oh well.

I had an original. But that should not be the reason. I am going back to the Apple store and I will get an answer.

Just got back from picking mine up from best buy. So far, I'm super impressed with everything on it. Comparing side by side with my launch day 3G, the pictures are crisper (the autofocus is a sweet, sweet addition), apps launch 1st party apps launch slightly faster whereas i noticed a SIGNIFICANT difference when launching 3rd party apps and games. I used FlightControl for my test since it took a lot of time on the 3G. The videocameras quality is probalby the best I've seen out of any mobile phone I've had that offered it. The device is just snappier all around.

anyone else notice the side buttons are a tad bit smaller? As in they're not as raised? Maybe everyone won't be breaking off there silent switch now ;)

The first iphone 2g i owned was perfect.

Since then i've had a couple 3g's (cracks and such) and LOTS of them have the bezel issue. I asked for a different one at the genius bar cause i can't stand it.

Luckily my 3gs is fine in that regard.

It's high time Apple ditched the terrible chrome bezel.

Also, the 3gs screen is way too warm and awful looking.

I am so impressed with the 3GS having had it for almost 4 hours now :) I did do a lot of reading up in the last few days but it has been so easy to setup. I've got apps installed, my music transferred, am transferring photos as we speak and have setup email and calendar syncing with my Google Apps account. The keyboard is a LOT easier to use than I had imagined it would be. I've had a hardware QWERTY keyboard for the last 3 years and thought that would be the biggest ommission from the new iPhone but I am amazed at how well I can actually type with two thumbs on the keyboard, even in portrait mode.

Google maps and the compass work really well together. The phone got an initial fix indoors within 10 seconds then refined it as the satellites kicked in.

I've even been impressed with CPW and O2. I pre-ordered the phone on Monday so had already paid for it and set up my account. I tracked my package online so saw when it was delivered to the store and went around to get it. When I got there, both assistants were serving customers. I waited 5 minutes and spent another 3 minutes paying for a case and collecting the phone. I got back to the office, fitted a screen protector, the sim and the case I bought then set about connecting the phone to my Mac. It connected first time as you would expect and activated in around a minute. Once that was done I setup all the syncing options and went from there.

I called O2 to give them my PAC code. I was in a queue for around 5 minutes (not a problem with the excellent speaker phone), which is impressive on what must have been a very busy day for them. When I got through I got my account passwords setup and gave them my PAC code. That all took around 5 minutes again which I thought was excellent.

Got mine at 7AM this morning. The speed increase is definitely noticeable compared to the 3G. Worth the upgrade? Maybe...I don't know how much I'll actually use the compass or video, but I do like my shiny new iPhone.

The reason I caved in was because my screen was cracked on my 3G. But now I await the TomTom or Navigon GPS app! Also, AT&T was seemed really prepared this morning. The line wasn't bad at all, everything went off without a hitch.

Yea the screen does seem a bit warm compared to my 2g. On the positive side I've been messing around with it quite a bit and this new screen is really opposing my fingerprints which is nice!
