Anyone know if Apple has finally released a version of iTunes that is supported on Windows XPx64? I'm still on a hacked version 8.0.2.

Apple has got me so ticked off, I'll probably put my energy into getting a 1-G iPhone cheap and forget buying these ho-hum iPod touches. That way, Apple won't get a penny and I'll probably save money.

I need a camera, and I need a mike and I don't want to pay AT&T fees. I also need them soon. I thought I would get that in the new touches.
You should be looking for a used iPhone 3G. The iPhone 1G has the crappy low resolution camera in it.

Instead, Apple is giving the tiny Nano more features but not the iPod touch. Why? With that tiny 2.2-inch Nano screen you can't see much of what you've taken...
My first digital camera had a one inch LCD and it was useable. I certainly had an easier time with later cameras with larger LCDs, but the first one did it's job quite fine.

and the equally tiny battery isn't likely to last long in video mode.
Apple specs say 5 hours. It's that what the playback time was on the iPhone when it first came out? It was the playback time on the first couple generations of Video iPods, too.

What's going on? If Apple has production problems with camera-equipped touches, they should say so, give us the details of new touch, and a release date.
Why? So people will completely ignore the products they just introduced and wait for the next version?

iTunes 9 supports aacPlus streams now! I'm pretty sure 8 didn't have this. Now I can stream GrooveSalad at 48 kpbs and it sounds awesome :D
Cool.

Seriously, some folk are deluded.

It's not a gloss effect, it runs the entire length of the application ... it's merely more noticeable in the song info window.

It's a gradient issue, it's not a "gloss effect". It's a big, dark, manky bar ffs.

It is most definitely a glossy effect. Check the loading "bar" in Safari or any other application made for OS X in the past 2 years. It's just a glossy effect, no need to get your panties in a bunch.

Not Happy!!!

Application Organizing deleted more then half of my applications most of which were paid applications. I know I can get them all back for free but it is EXTREMELY frustrating. I had to setup all of my bank accounts again, lost all of my work out logs/high scores, and re login to EVERYTHING. I am anything but happy with these software upgrades.

How is it that they manage to make iTunes more and more ugly with each release. its like they're doing it on purpose.......:(

I don't like thew new OPTION-Click to go back to the mini player. I want the old way of just clicking :(

iTunes seems to be letting me sync files to my iPhone 3GS 3.1 that it didn't previously, those encoded with the Apple TV profile by handbrake

I just looked at screenshots and it doesn't look that "fugly" at all...why are people so picky about a subtle color change in this forum?

Colour change is fine, but when a so-called "effect" is executed so poorly then people will moan.

I've never moaned on here about Apple in my time using these forums, but iTunes 9 takes the piss.

Ok this thread is going fast, i think i'll sit back and watch the replies, It's funny you can answer a question and there are 15 replies in just a few minute's.

Nothing better then a real active thread. :D

First impressions:

Goddamn, that "gradient" in the title window is annoying. I can't believe someone at Apple has been using this for months and not said "Goddamn, that gradient in the title window is annoying".

There is a black background in many of the windows. Cover Flow, for example. Why the bright white in the grid view?

Being able to sync by genre, etc has been a feature I wanted for years.

I still don't like how the Itunes toolbar is "clickthrough". What I mean is that, even when Itunes is not the front application (no focus), the play/next/etc buttons all accept clicks.

I guess we have to wait for Itunes X for 64bit-ness.

The loading bar, by which I assume you mean the little two tone grey section when a webpage is loading, is indeed split in two ... but it doesn't run into the address bar or appear on the other "silver" parts of the application window.

Sorry, in my opinion it's a bug ... there's no way it's a "gloss effect", I've seen better "effects" on far inferior systems in previous years.

32 bit
Ugly white backgrounds apps, movies, podcasts etc.
Podcasts and Videos are a standard size and not able to change the icon size
Play and next buttons look unfinished and a little bit iconized on the top.

I am a little bit sad that I upgraded so fast

You can change the icon size.

On the grid view, go to the menu View --> Grid View --> Show Header.

There you go. Choose categories and controls for the icon size!

I've got to say that the iTunes store is a mess...it's just way too busy if you ask me. I'm sure under all the scrolling things and icons everywhere there will be some added functionality...

...just got to find it! ;)

Hmm, Smart playlists still dont work correctly. I've selected the top 20 songs in my rock genre, works great in itunes, but on my iphone it shows the first 20 songs listed in the genre.

Thank's, I was also looking for that, You made my day!!!

Have a great one.

Oh my DEAR LORD!!!! Please give me back a black background on album views and in the iTune Store. I'm going blind!!!!

Am I the only one who likes some of the UI changes in iTunes 9?

Some are nice and it seems quicker but overall it's a UI mess. Too many wrong things going on. I'm surprised Jobs let this out. What's up with all the white for instance.

Also starting off by me having to restore my iPhone is not a good start.

How do I see which songs/albums are iTunes Plus? I can't find the small plus sign anywhere.. And why have they removed the shopping cart?
